398059 tn?1447945633 Swedish massage is out for you and me. Deep kneading only aggravates the muscles and often causes spaasms and pain. I found a massage therapist who is excellent with positional release and accupressure. Both are really gentle touch, and extremely beneficial for relaxing those hyper-muscles. You might search in your area for someone who is trained in either of those techniques. If you google positional release you will find a lot of information.

5609181 tn?1375332372 Has anyone gone through labor without taking any classes and just watching videos at home? I don't want to skimp on anything important but I'm trying to work as much as I can before giving birth and going to school and saving some money would be nice... Anyone else?
Avatar f tn Over several months Iwe did traction, (which helped aLOT), and my PT would massage the small muscles that were causing such major pain. We did different types exercises, specifically to loosen and relax these muscles. It took some work, but not too much time before the headaches slowly subsided, along with the pain in my neck and and upper back. Something for you to consider, and no matter what I hope you get those migraines under control. They will ruin your day. Well wishes to you..
Avatar f tn My cousin did. As a professional massage therapist I recomended a swedish massage twice a month. It's cheaper than seeing a therapist, or medications and if you need those they'll refer you. But you might as well take the option that just plain feels good, and gives you a moment to focus on you and feel better faster.
Avatar m tn I am interested in availing of a linggam massage from a sex worker but I have never had any encounter with a sex worker before. The thing with having a girlfriend give a handjob or massage is that it is more of a give and take relationship and it's really hard to fully relax and not have to reciprocate. I don't think I have ever have been in a relationship where I can just relax for 1 whole hour as they are not willing to do so and feels unnatural.
Avatar f tn So, I would suggest perhaps going to a sports injury doc, they deal with things like rotator cuff injuries all the time, and he can evaluate you and perhaps order physical therapy. On your own, you could instead visit a professional massage therapist, deep Swedish massage a few times might break up the pain in there and relieve your headaches. Now, anytime a person is in a lot of pain, they will have your other symptoms of being tired, not able to focus, and emotional problems.
Avatar n tn I would do yoga they have some really awesome videos I wouldn't suggest massage until later when your back really hurts this is nothing
Avatar n tn I got a swedish massage Saturday afternoon and about a half hour after started to feel a little sick. It felt like cramps/nausea and came in waves. I had my period for a few days, but was not feeling bad before the massage at all this month. About 2 hours after the massage while I was shopping I felt really sick and fainted. I've never fainted before in my life. Do you think it was the massage? Im hoping its not something more serious.
Avatar f tn I went to one with my hubby for my first child. They basically show you breathing techniques, how to focus on other things besides labor pain. I guess basically how to mentally and physically deal with labor. They show you ways your partner can help with massage using different tools. We watched a birthing video and watched how to change a diaper and swaddled a baby. While learning how to cope with labor was interesting, I didn't use anythign but the breathing exercise.
Avatar m tn Aside from natural products, mind and body practices such as acupuncture, massage therapy, yoga, meditation, relaxation techniques, and a lot more may be considered. At present, there are a lot of researches being done ( such as those by the NIH's NCCAM) that help provide information about complementary health products and practices. All the best!
Avatar f tn At 35wks its still a little early so maybe baby is just letting you know what to expect but just monitor it. Loads of YouTube videos on breathing techniques to help you breath through the pain in labour so they may also help with these practice ones. Maybe worth a look at. Just put in "breathing techniques during labour" and they should pop up for you.
Avatar f tn If it turns out to be compressed nerves your best bet is a good chiropractor. Swedish massage is also good.
Avatar m tn Ask the masseuse to wear high heels, maybe touch/kiss heels and since Im paying anyway, get a massage anyway. I couldnt care less for massage, touching or vaginal/anal/oral sex (I do care about vaginal-sex but with my wife ONLY) I know Im not ideal or perfect but I want to get better- with communicating with my wife as well as my habits and priorities. Im here so I can write this and writing about it itself and have people comment about it a kind of therapy.
Avatar m tn About 5 weeks ago I went to a local massage place. I came in for a Swedish massage and I ended up with a prostate massage. The masseuse was being a little to rough and I think that my bowel were not empty. Since then been I having all kind symptoms. At first, for about two weeks I had a burning sensation in my lower left abdominal area and constipation, then I started getting hot flashes and a light pain in my anus , scrotum and lower abdominal area and occasional joint pain.
Avatar f tn Okay. Good. Deep tissue is the type of massage that you will need. Swedish only works on the superficial muscle and tissue. Ice after the massage, if deep tissue. You can be sore (like soreness after a workout) because toxins are being pushed out of the muscle into you body. Also drink lots of water to hydrate you muscles. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
1184961 tn?1292574076 Yes & it does help, only it's expensive. My husband has been unemployed for 2 years so we have to cut back on expenses. I do get the massages when I can though. I wish I could get them on a regular basis. I failed to say that I also havae fibromyalgia so the massages does wonders for that when I can get them regularly. I haev 2 friends who are massage therapists who do give me discounts right now, so I am blessed in that respect. Thanks for reminding me of this.
Avatar f tn Takes all the weight off the spine. Most of the time it makes it stop hurting for a while. Also, massage therapy is helpful, Swedish massage is the best kind for me, breaks up all the tension in the muscles that builds up from pain, for a while anyway.
Avatar f tn All women gets this but not everyone feels a pain from it . keep your back straight and rest alot. Massage can help too. Its not harmful for you or the baby and will go away after she/he is born. Your body is just telling you to slow down ♡ hope this helped. In swedish it's called "foglossning" and is a very common topic for pregnant women to talk about.
Avatar m tn the massage was with oil as it was a swedish massage.the girl is from thailand.i generally asked her where is from and what she does etc.She was keen on giving me more services for extra pay but i didnt do anything apart from a handjob. after the massage which bathing i felt a slight sting on my index finger on my right hand.it had a tiny cut and wasnt bleeding but it was stinging and was red.i did press her breast once while she gave me a handjob as she was topless.
538403 tn?1213717644 Make sure your LMP is knowledgeable in the modalities of massage that affect scar tissue, a generic swedish massage (the standard of most therapists) won't do much for your situation. You need cross fiber friction massage to literally break up the tissue.
1060976 tn?1258703824 Because it is the easiest of the IVF treatments, I say relax. Get a nice pedi & mani, but mostly, get a good deep tissue (anytime this week) or swedish massage & try to relax. If you can get accu-pressure or puncture treatment a couple days before...even better. I say it's all about the relaxation. ;o) Mounds of RSSBD to ya.
