I've had HIV for several years, luckily it was caught early. I started meds fairly soon after. I started Atripla in 2010. It got be undetectable quickly and has kept that way. I never had major bad side effects on it. I did have some crazy dreams and still do. After I was on it for a couple years, things began to slowly deteriorate. I began getting panic attacks, and bouts of tachycardia and palpitations. I had a history of those but it seemed to get worse.

Per prescription they are not used together. However there have been clinical trials using them together "off label" and they have been shown to be highly effective when used together. After reviewing the medications I was already taking (to avoid any conflicts) she recommended Lamotrigine for my intense anxiety. I am VERY familiar with off-label drug uses, but I can find no information re: the use of this drug for my situation. It is a drug used for bi-polar disorder and seizures. I thought that Atavan would be the drug of choice, and after reading more about Lamotrigine, I have become actually quite shocked about this recommendation.

Wikipedia is a good starting point, as it usually is linked to the other label sites. Look for lines within the label info that refer to liver or hepatic. If there is any knowledge that a drug can harm the liver it will be on the label. You can easily come across a line on some drug labels that warns about treating patients with "hepatic impairment" (means liver damage).
