Sustiva and truvada combo

Common Questions and Answers about Sustiva and truvada combo

sustiva

Avatar m tn Some feedback on the side effects you guys have experienced with both Atripla and the Truvada, Norvir and Rayotaz combo would be much appreciated. One of my fears of this combo is sunken cheeks or the "sick look". Any benefits experienced and or advice would also be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn I had unprotected sex in 28/12/2015 and in 6/2/2016 i discovered I'm hiv positive. My dr ran stds tests and one of them was for hepatitis B. He made hepatitis B sAg qualitative test which came back negative. Then in 16/2/2016 i took truvada plus sustiva as treatment for hiv. Now when I searched for hepatitis B testing i found that it involves many tests. This month i made acomplete hepatitis B panel test which came back as follows: Hepatitis B sAg 0.
Avatar f tn I've had HIV for several years, luckily it was caught early. I started meds fairly soon after. I started Atripla in 2010. It got be undetectable quickly and has kept that way. I never had major bad side effects on it. I did have some crazy dreams and still do. After I was on it for a couple years, things began to slowly deteriorate. I began getting panic attacks, and bouts of tachycardia and palpitations. I had a history of those but it seemed to get worse.
Avatar f tn You are correct that Truvada is a combination of tenofovir and emtricitabine, and is generally prescribed for patients with HIV. Being a HBV forum, most of us know very little about Truvada except that it is prescribed off-label for HBV by some doctors, and that it is recommended for HBV patients who develop resistance to Tenofovir.
Avatar m tn lam is less toxic, is generic, more potent than ftc but of course lam is to be used only in this combo because both lam and ftc used alone are too weak and extreme high resistance there is no future for these componds, as antivirals tenofovir has already the maximum respose that can be achieved by antivirals and after this will become generic i think antivirals will dye with just the compounds already approved, intf and myrcludex will do the rest of the market/job to clear hbv
Avatar m tn , Truvada is a combo of Viread and Emtriva).
Avatar m tn d consider interferon combo to try to eradicate hbv, during the combo and after you have to monitor hbsag and hbeag to decrease, alinia would be a nice add before the combo truvada long term therapy will lead to sides effect only so i'd consider these combos forgot low lympho question: probably it means your immune system is not fighting hbv and if immune system works they must rise if you are infected not lower
Avatar m tn Hi,can anyone tell me what are the medical options remaining after being resistant to both lamivudine 100 and entecavir 0.5?Will tenofovir 300 alone or ETV+TDF or any other Combo work? Please share your views?
Avatar f tn there are clinical reports of hbv+hdv superinfection cleared by truvada-interferon combo, i strongly suggest this combo with additional alinia started mono 4 weeks before interferon+truvada.
Avatar m tn yes and very high titers too i think that treating when immune tollerant and hbeag pos has more chances because the virus has not tried all immune escape strategies yet, so when you hit with interferon comboes you get normal immune response to work and the virus has no time to try the immune escape strategies like precore-bcp mutants and who knows what else this is probably the reason hbeag has more hbsag clearance, so i think all those on interferon should buy themselves tenofovir or truvada
Avatar m tn She advised me to continue monitoring my condition and warn me about possible resistance. I thought truvada (tenofovir) has no resistance up to now. I asked her what I should do when I develop resistance to Truvada. She said she may ADD (or switch, I forgot exactly what she said) Baracude. This surprised me a bit because I thought Baraclude would not work on LAM resistance. Am I wrong?
Avatar f tn has anyone been prescribed Truvada? If so I would like to know how you are doing with it? and if it is helping your hepatitis b? I have stage 4 kidney disease. My hepitologist just prescribed this med. My labs were not good. He hopes to get the virus under control so I can possibly get a kidney transplant. This would be a kidney from a cadaver donator, someone who had hepatitis b. So I am about to begin my journey.
Avatar m tn Brief Intro: have been on Truvada for more than 3 years now, switching from LAM (lam resistance, I took lam for 3 years). HBeAg +, AntiHBe - , 25 years old, genotype B. Ultrasound, fibroscan (around 5.0 kPa) & blood test (AST, ALT, Creatinin,... HBV DNA undetectable) every 6 months comes back normal (been doing this for 5 years now). I'm thinking about taking Tenofovir only because I will move to a place where Emtricitabine is not available. I know it is better to combo.
Avatar m tn There is a chance, 1% of people naturally clear HBSAG every year. Not sure why you were given Truvada, that is a combo drug for HIV. You should have only been given Tenofovir. If you want to buy drugs for cheap, buy them from India, you can even get Vemlidy for really cheap out there. Post your entire history here, maybe you could be a candidate for stopping treatment, for example if you were HEBAG+ before and then became HBEAG- and undetectable on treatment.
Avatar n tn I'm on the combo Kaletra and Truvada for the past 4 years and now have bad Peripheral Neuropathy and a severe symmetrical rash on my arms and legs to go with it. The rash has been treated with steroids, antibiotics, and antihistamines for the last three months and does not go away. It is painful and driving me nuts to boot. Any suggestions? Thank you.
Avatar f tn 1 - reactive) is good because low (in cronic hbv is always in the thouzands) although i am more familiar with iu/ml or s/n, when you reach 10iu/ml the possibility to have negative is very high and it is also very important to monitor if it declines from base line to 24 and 48 weeks or stays about the same i have seen a patient cleared hbv+hdv in 10 months interferon+truvada combo but truvada has more sides than etv and probably inf+entecavir is the about the same i guess interferon is the most
Avatar m tn In June 2005 I tested positive with a VL of 330,000 and antibody test at this time it was non react which for what I have read is negative for the antibodies, I decided back then to start treatment right away (Truvada & Sustiva) due to the high VL, I got a geno and phenotype test done before starting treatment, Dr.
