Common Questions and Answers about Sular dose conversion

Avatar m tn Something else could be affecting the change of biking velocity, or something could be affecting the effectiveness of the dose but possibly it does not have that much of an impact on the biking. In other words, do talk to her doctor about her dose, but check your assumptions about cause and effect before suggesting a change.
Avatar f tn s temp protocol calls for timed released T3 doses that are increased by 15mcg per day up to a set dose and then back down by 15mcg per day until the dose reaches zero. This is supposed to reset my temp and hopefully make me feel much better. The cycling isn't supposed to continue for more than a couple of months after which the body temp should remain normal. Hopefully. I am a 62 year old retired teacher. I have struggled with migraines since I was 9 years old, depression since I was 14.
Avatar n tn My doctor reduced me to the above dose and its going terribly. The conversion for the fent for that dose is 50 to 75Mcg. My dr said to try changing the patch every 2 instead of every 3. My insurance won’t pay for this non-standard dose. Idk what to do. I’m in constant pain, sweating crazy - i’m in a nightmare.

Which leads me to the question: what is the cause for the change in meds? If it was because of you still having hypo symptoms, then I see little risk in switching to a full grain of Armour, but do it in two stages. That way you should have the best of both possible outcomes.

Avatar f tn Our family is desperate to help our 14 year old daughter who has a conversion disorder accompanied by depression & severe anxiety. Her case seems to be unique for a number of reason that I can expand on if anyone out there needs more information. Our child has been doing very well once we finally found the medication Lexapro. She was a year into taking 30mg daily plus Clonepin (.25mg 2x daily) and doing very well. Recently, she started going down hill.
Avatar f tn The diagnosis was hypo-poor conversion. Never mentioned hypothyroidism however, poor conversion on the side of hypothyroidism. Thanks for comment. Does any of this make sense?
Avatar f tn 75mcg might of been too high of a starting dose for you. You might want to get everything retested, with TSH and FT3, and ask to start on a lower dose-I know I felt the same when I was over-medicated.
3241062 tn?1346895870 I was wondering if anyone has a link to a conversion table for the Erfa Thyroid. I was on 75mcg of Synthroid and my gp started me on 30mg of Thyroid. I tried to tell him that it didn't match my T4 dosage but he wants to wait for the blood work, arrgh. I was feeling great on the 30mg for about a week-what a tease, lol. Now I'm back to where I was before.
Avatar n tn from 8 week to 12 week I was under high dose of acyclovir. I had a herpes break out and also 2 weeks after I got chicken pox. Therefore I went through longer acyclovir course. Then I had my test at 14 week. It was a P24 antigen and antibody test (Hiv duo test) It came back negative but I'm still worried as high dose of acyclovir might alter the result. Will it effect the virus replication and antibody production?
Avatar n tn If the dose is really 250 mcg (0.25 mg) x 0.5 = 125 mcg/day x 7 days, gives a total dose of 875 mcg over 7 days. The doses still don't match, and the VA dose is way less. Please recheck with the VA prescription. Recheck with your doctor as well, if neccessary. When changing from 1 brand to another it is always necessary to retest blood levels after 6 weeks, as different meds can have different bioavailability. HOpe this helps.
Avatar m tn Smiler - in December 2009 you posted about solving conversion problems with calcium, vit D and B12. There is still no cytomel in Guatemala. Could I please beg a repeat of your post?
Avatar f tn I have been doing a lot of research, and have read that conversion problems can be fixed. Increased estrogen can cause this, as well as adrenal exhaustion. I am going to ask my Dr to increase my T4 meds to 137 mcg to bring my TSH down , as I am having some symptoms of hypo : fatique, irritability, constipation etc. I know that it would be possible to add T3 to my meds, but I would rather try to fix the conversion problem if I can. Does anyone have info, or experience with this situation.
499534 tn?1328704178 My new doc left message that she is switching me from synthroid to armour due to conversion problem. She is going to call me tomorrow with all my results after figuring out conversion. I am on 75 mcg daily of synthroid. Anyone know what the correct conversion would be? Also, what can I expect to feel when I make the change? Any help appreciated.
Avatar f tn A synthroid dose of 50 mcg is still a low dose. So there is plenty of room to increase the dose. What did the new doctor do? How much did he increase her dose by? What med is she now on? The doctor should test FT3 and FT4 as well as TSH. You'll have to be a bit patient. As it takes about 4 weeks for each new dose to reach stable levels (which you then test to see where she's at) before increasing the dose.
Avatar f tn I am getting ready to convert to Armor from Synthroid. Any suggestions about easy conversion without major side effects like weight gain, hair loss, tremors, or arrythmias? Don't want to go hypo, and don't want to be hyper. I have been on Synthroid due to RAI for years and have had every bad side effect their is. The Endo's always made my dose to high and went just by the numbers. That kicked me into heart arrythmias, diah, tremors for years.
Avatar n tn t answer your specific question about the conversion to synthroid/cytomel, but I have to ask - about a generic for cytomel? According to both my endo and pharmacist, there is no generic for cytomel......
Avatar n tn I donk know if its equal, but one thing is for sure with the patch, its a constant delivery..No peaks or valley's, so its constant for the most part. I, myself was never really able to get the same kind of constant relief from an oral medication. Im just saying...
Avatar f tn I started Armour at 90 mg and synthroid was 180. I took full dose at 630 am and felt great. Around 5 pm, I started feeling hot, moody and cloudy. today i took half dose, assuming i took too much but i feel the same. Is this normal, I didn’t expect much at first but I got a feeling of normalcy and them crash. I just want that normal feeling back, I haven’t felt well in 17 years. I wanted to quit but my fiance wouldn’t let me.
