I'm finding it hard to find good info on whether Subutex (Suboxone without Naloxone) will block the effects of Kratom. I realize Kratom isn't a true opiate, but does it work on the same receptors? I am 3 days off a .5 gram heroin habit per day and I used Kratom first for withdrawals (along with Xanax) then started taking small doses of Subutex. If the Kratom will work whilst taking subs, I would like to try that.

25mg of xanax for a short time and it was fine. The danger with xanax and suboxone is when the xanax is abused and taken at much higher doses, so I would not recommend doing that. I guess the question I would ask is do you really want to be clean? If so, keep working with your doctor, follow his instructions and take the subutex as directed - stay away from the other pills. Get some other support through an NA meeting or from others on this site.
I was just diagnosed with an autoammune disease and don't want to take plaquenil just yet. Doctor said to take celebrex and a muscle relaxer. I have been taking 1 mg of xanax for 3 weeks and before that it was about twice a week as needed. I was having such anxiety and sleep issues rhemy said to take it every day. Now 3 weeks later she wants to try the new coctail of celebrex and muscle relaxer.
I asked this question not so long ago, but does subutex/suboxone make benzodiazepines less effective. I know you are not supposed to take it together, but it was prescribed by my neurologist. It is something I noticed.
with that said many physicians feel certain patients can safely take xanax and sub together. especially if there xanax use has been long term for a diagnosis of panic/anxiety. they should be followed by their psychiatrist for that and the sub physician and psychiatrist can manage your dosages.
xanax, like Ga Guy says, has a short half life and on top of that metabolizes faster and faster. the sub dose is critical as well. if it is too high or too low, anxiety can occur.

I have been on suboxine since June. I had taken xanax for 20 yrs. The suboxine dr told me that xanax & klonopin are the worst to take with sub's. You can take to much xanax & pass out and poss die. Especially xanax in large quanties. Beleive it or not my sub dr gave 2mg valium for anxiety. In my drug yrs I would have taken 40,50 mgs a day of valiums, always got them off the street, xanax i had a script for.. Now I take 2 mgs 3 times a day.
Ive been taking 5-6 750mg vicoden for 2 years and 1 1/2mg of xanax for about 5 yrs.. I have severe back pain and severe anxiety. I have recently noticed rapid weight loss and no apetite. Ive lost about 20lbs in a couple months and a pound daily. I recently relapsed using 30mg of oxycodone a day for the last month and started taking suboxone today. My husband is trying to detox with suboxone and we need to know if he can take it safely. Also, the suboxone doesn't seem to be taking away his withdrawls, he is antsy, has rls, hot and cold, sneezing, nauseaus, very very sick. He has been taking 24-32mg of suboxone and I thought that was a really high dose. He was on about 900mg of oxycodone a day, so maybe that has something to do with it? Anyone please help! tomorrow am I am going to clinic for possible suboxne treatment to get off of hyrdrocodone. I also take ativan for anxiety .5mg 1-3 day. I just read that the two cannot be taken together. anyone know? I was looking forward to appt. in hopes of getting help, but now am more anxious.
On 1/26/10 he was admitted to a program to take him off the Suboxone. Initially they tried to take him off the Suboxone and Xanax at the same time. They substitued Valium for Xanax, but he did not do well so they put him back on Xanax. He did not taper off the Suboxone, they took him off cold turkey. He was in rehab for 16 days when our insurance said "no more", so he came home. It is now 2/14/20 and he is still shaking, anxious and very ill.
Why in the world have you been on suboxone for 3 years? And why are you taking Xanax while you are on Subs? Taking benzodiazepines with opiate drugs is a dangerous thing to do. That combo can cause severe respiratory depression and in some cases- especially with Buprenorphine- a reaction resulting in voluntary respiratory failure.
Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.

I would ask your doctor about increasing the Paxil if it has worked for you these last two years, or switching to one of the many other antidepressants. I would try to avoid increasing the dose of xanax, and possibly ask about switching off xanax to klonopin. You might also consider therapy to look at the source, rather than the symptoms.
