Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone withdrawal period drugs

suboxone

Avatar f tn I started to feel sick after the last time I used like withdrawal symptoms so I got 12mg of suboxone. I took 4 one day, 3 the next, 2 the next, and one today. Will I now have suboxone withdrawal tomorrow.? Also, does suboxone show up on a urine test?
1181804 tn?1333402805 OK. I struggled with my opiate addiction so much that I never fully realized how physically addicting I was becoming to ativan too. The doctor who helped me wean off the percocets by putting me on suboxone and then slowly wean me off those over a one year period told me that I can't be on ativan while on suboxone. Well, my Primary Care had put me on the ativan (.5 / 2 X a day- but I took more when I "needed" it.......
Avatar f tn Welcome, To answer your question, you would not feel withdrawal from the Suboxone because you have mass quantities of other drugs in your system. Is your doctor aware that you are abusing Suboxone? Have you ever sought treatment for your depression? Those would be two places to start. You are well on a path of utter destruction and that is heart breaking. Please seek help through any means that you can. Talk with your doctor, get honest, get into an in-patient treatment center....
Avatar m tn I did a relatively aggressive taper of the suboxone simply since I do have Multiple Sclerosis and the withdrawal symtoms from these drugs was putting my MS into a tail spin that was also intolerable. I was told that the suboxone, with the taper would be relatively easy. Well, that was not exactly true. I suffered through feeling quite bad for at least a week after I stopped the suboxone.
Avatar f tn When you come into a substance abuse community and ask if Fentanyl is okay to take for Suboxone withdrawal you have to expect members are going to say it is dangerous. I think you already know that.
Avatar f tn One more thing Dr. Julie. So sorry for double posting. U said gently taper down. So don't just stop even tho I only take it a few times a week for just this small period of time u do think I should taper instead of stop? Would u suggest just 2mg until I run out? I only have 3/8 mg strips left which if split careful will last at least 10 days. I know u have to speak from a dr perspective as well but I don't get the month lasting withdrawal.
Avatar m tn Suboxone has actually become one of the primary drugs we treat patients with the Waismann Method of rapid detox because it can be such a lengthy withdrawal. In my experience, every time you consume an opiate through the withdrawal you are prolonging the discomfort. Withdrawal is the opioids coming off the receptors...Once you ingest an opioid you will be delaying this natural process. I hope this will help you.
Avatar m tn All i read is how your substituting various drugs with other drugs??? Am i reading wrong? Methadone and heroin? Looking at the post above i would suggest inpatient drug detox and counseling for minimum of 90 days. You cant keep avoiding w/d effects with other addictive drugs....it doesnt work. In fact, im going to reread this post cause i want to make sure i read it write???
Avatar f tn Please help a mother, trying to help her daughter. My daughter is 21yrs old, we are on day 2 of oxy withdrawal. She went thru rehab 2 1/2 yrs ago for meth addiction. She didn't complete rehab. We sent her out of state to relatives that could monitor her activites and to remove her from the drug enviornment here. After a few months, naively I thought all was well. She then was smoking pot which she considers not to be a drug......
Avatar m tn I am just curious if anyone has tried this method and had a much shorter but more intense physical withdrawal period? I have read nightmarish stories about people on methadone taking sub early so I wouldn't suggest taking my advice and trying this, but I wonder if it would actually be preferred with weaker opiates and if you had valium and chlonidine type meds to take during that precip withdrawal period to help lesson the blow?
Avatar n tn I jumped off from .5MG. I would not stay on Suboxone for years because I would think the withdrawal is more difficult. Your goal is to be drug free and opiate free. Suboxone is a buffer to get your life in order first and get ready for real recovery with meetings and therapy. My experience was this. I do think I stayed on Suboxone too long which was 18 months and 12 months should be maximum. Great medication so you do not go thru the hell of heroin withdrawal.
1227909 tn?1267853479 suboxone and methadone are meant for short term use withdrawal side effects are gone within a month thats all the longer your body needs it zoe - yes treatment is possible at stage 4 - i heard now even with decompensated cirrhosis treatment is possible
1055085 tn?1254106982 im afraid if i get off that i will use again. does suboxone have a negative effect if used over a long period if time? This discussion is related to Suboxone Withdrawal.
Avatar f tn urs I'm 72 hours off suboxone and feeling horrible thought after 3 days I would be feeling better, ok now when the Dr gave me suboxone she also gave me clonidine I haven't taken any my question is can I take one just to get some kind of rest?? Will it harm my baby if I take just one?? If I'm feeling this bad what is my baby going through?? I'm scared, confused, nervous! I don't know what to do should I go back on suboxone??
Avatar f tn I see my therapist and my psych doc's on Tuesday and I've been doing a ton of research on Vicodin addiction. The #1 thing that kept coming up was this medicine called suboxone..I've never heard of it besides on here and that people have become addicted to it, and have abused it. Is it something that would benefit me seeing as this is my 2nd relapse? I will try ANYTHING at this point, I am desperate. What should I do?
Avatar f tn Suboxone is manufactured by a company in England and they have a distribution agreement with Schering Plough to distribute Subs in your country. They try to hide it but the manufacturer is Reckitt Benckiser who for the most part makes consumer goods such as toilet cleaners otc drugs and the such. Subs worked for me after a 5 year perc addiction and a 64 day taper period from the subs.
Avatar f tn t have first hand experience with Suboxone withdrawal because I have never been on it but I have read and heard that it is like, but less intense, than opiate withdrawal. Someone else with first hand knowledge can give you some more information.
Avatar f tn my question was is their withdrawal from saboxon, however i read a few comments and mostly answered my question. i was struggling with drugs like heroin and roxacets. i have recently been off of them for about 3 weeks with the help of saboxon. so about 4 days off the saboxon. i feel like !@%%. i quess that feeling tierd and aches is going to be for a while. i have been pushing everyday. and i have to keep pushing. i have a family and it really is not a option to go back wards.
Avatar n tn If you require any additional pain management within that time it is important to tell the doctors you are on it as you will require more opiates to achieve any useful relief, but it is a fine balance as too much opiates will kick you back into withdrawal. Suboxone also contains a second ingredient to prevent crushing and shooting the drug as it will kick you into withdrawal as well. The maximum daily dose that is useful is 32mg - anything past that will not be used by the body.
369629 tn?1237812958 The problem with Suboxone being that it is also a highly addictive drug, and the withdrawal from Suboxone is just as difficult, if not moreso, than any of the others. Sub in both of its forms (Subutex for the beginning of treatment and Suboxone for the maintenance phase) is a drug that is used to treat opiate dependence, however, like methadone, it too is addictive, so once you use Subutex and Suboxone to get away from the opiates, you then have to detox from the Suboxone.
