suboxone

Avatar m tn I do not believe that an OB/GYN is one of them. I have no personal experience with Suboxone but other members here do. They will be along to weigh in soon. Please give us more info about you and your situation. Take care!
Avatar f tn I just know I got on Suboxone to stop the other opiates as soon as I tried hydrocodone/notco for sub withdrawal relief I wanted more and more ...which Suboxone never did for me and then ...
Avatar m tn Suboxone is buprenorphine with naloxone which basicly prevents people from shooting it up. The blocking part of sub is just that the buprenorphine has a stronger bind to the opiate receptors and blocks most doses of opiates. It is also only a partial agonist, compared to methadone, oxy's, hyrdro's, all being full agonist opiates. Both methadone and sub are used as replacement therapy tools in order to stay away from other opiates.
Avatar m tn took suboxone for 3 days...its been 3 and a half days with out anythinig but ativan, im still wigging out and am not getting much sleep at all...is this ever goin to end??i was on oxys for 6 months than methadone for 8 months...than back to oxys for 5 months.... when am i gunnna start feeling better?????
Avatar f tn What if you have methadone in your system
610505 tn?1329603723 Don't take opiates while on suboxone....while you won't feel the opiates because the sub blocks them, they will still be in the system and if you do too much you can overdose. And you're not going to get high anyways, so DONT TAKE THE CHANCE.
Avatar f tn So if u go in for something like suboxone to help with withdrawal symptoms from opiates, u may want to second guess that one too, these dt's from subox are almost but not quite as bad as dt's from opiates, so dont try to cover one problem with something else the only thing u can do which may be hard due to no appetite, shakiness, nausea, trembling, heart racing, tossing, the worst is the gut wrenching feeling in ur gut and real bad insomnia, so get alot of viatamins such as, Viatamin B
Avatar n tn I began to increase my acupuncture sessions and it truly was amazing how much the pain began to decrease. I went from 10/10 to a manageable 3-4/10. I can live with that!! After a week of suffering with suboxone, I took Subutex for 3 weeks and have been substance free for 3 days. I experienced increased pain without Methadone. I have tremendous pain, however, I began acupuncture approximately 3 months ago. I don't think I could be feeling as good as I do without it.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone ... I was wondering if anyone could tell me if Suboxone helps with Chronic Pain? I've had 3 lumbar fusion's since 2016. I've got osteoarthritis in my lower back, severe nerve damage, spinal stenosis, failed back surgery syndrome, edema in both hips. I'm having a bit of trouble in pain management. Anyway... I was Just wondering if anyone Has taken suboxone for chronic pain? And if so, has it helped you at all? Thanks a bunch!!
Avatar f tn if you still have opiates in you system the suboxone will compete with the existing opiates kick them out sending you into the worst withdrawls youve ever had(trust me last time i took my first dose too early it was hell!). yes but opiates must be fully out of your system before you can start suboxone. but before you do read the info in the health pages about suboxone and make an informed decision. because if i had i wouldnt have touched suboxone!
Avatar m tn Sorry, I said that that backwards! Taking Suboxone AFTER Methadone can make you very sick unless you're in full withdrawals and are at a fairly low dose of Methadone. I just read your other thread where you stopped the Methadone at 160 mgs and started Suboxone two days later. That was wrong to do. Who's helping you with this? You need an expert, medically. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I've been fighting with opiates now for four years. This past May, I started dating a new guy, and instead of watching me blow all my money up my nose on oxys and tabs, he helped me. I took suboxone for about 2 1/2 weeks, then stopped everything completely. I was fine until about a month ago, I relapsed. Now I'm back to taking anywhere from 5 to 8 10mg tabs and sometimes 2 to 4 30 mg roxies on top of the tabs. My boyfriend knows I've relapsed. I feel horrible.
Avatar n tn Suboxone is a medication used to prevent withdrawal symptoms in drug addiction treatment and to prevent relapse. In chronic pain patients without a history of misuse/abuse/addiction - Suboxone can be used for a few days to manage withdrawal symptoms while stopping opiates- it is typically dosed very low in these situations because a typical chronic pain patient choosing to get off opiates does not need higher doses or be on the medication longer than a few days.
Avatar m tn I take Suboxone for pain due to too many past problems with addiction. I'm wondering If I could take Trammadol at night, long after I have taken my last dose of Suboxone? Since Trammadol is NOT an opiate, would there be any adverse effects? I've read some questions and answers in this forum and people are talking about Trammadol as it is a Opioid, which it IS NOT! Anyone who is in the know on this question know any answers to this?
1122748 tn?1306239764 Suboxone may curb cravings for other opiates and allow people to stop stealing and get their lives in order. But the problem is that, after three months or so, they have terrible difficulties quitting Suboxone because of its sheer strength in binding to opiate receptors, its long half-life, and the fact that it’s a partial-agonist binding to receptors built for full agonists. most people, including physicians, do not comprehend the strength and effects of buprenorphine.
Avatar f tn t quote me on this more in the range of 36hours which means I was very long and severe withdrawal from suboxone if you were using it as a means to an end to stop taking opiates as an addiction and suboxone is a very viable option as with methadone they all come with their own demons but that being sad suboxone has saved many addicted lives
Avatar m tn What if you are taking suboxone and try to take opiates within 24 hours after your last sub dose and of course you don't feel the effects of the opiates because the suboxone in your body blocked it? Do the opiates stay in your body or just get flushed out since they can't stick to your receptors?
Avatar m tn are subutex and suboxone identical...i thought suboxone was the one with the naloxone in it....it is not recommended to take either while on meds like oxy...
Avatar n tn Difference b/w methadone and other opiates is that on a stable dose (which differs for everyone), a pregnant woman (or any individual) is able to go 24 to 36 hours without having ANY physical withdrawals whereas with heroin and other opiates, the half-life is 4 to 6 hours so the individual experiences withdrawals unless they continuously use.
Avatar m tn Hi there. With my past experience detoxing from opiates with heart issues. Do this under cardiologist supervision. It can be very dangerous or at least for me it was. A healthy person detox is hard... but normally safe. Others will be along to give you their experience. Hang in there.
Avatar f tn I would work with a Dr to do a taper plan with the opiates and w/d off of them. Are you considering a sub maintenace program w/ a reputable Dr or do u mean u can get your hands on some to detox with???? If its the second....no, don't do the subs! I went on subs after wanting to quit an opiate addiction and the w/d from the subs was.waaaayyyy worse, for me! But I wouldn't recommend jumping from 40/50 hydros a day to nothing. That's a pretty big damn jump! U need a good drs help.
Avatar n tn if my son took an opiate while taking his suboxone will he test positive for opiates on a reg 10 panel drug screen? since suboxone blocks opiates in body will it block it on urine UDS.
Avatar f tn If I’m using opiates all the way up to the date of my sublicade (buprenorphine) injection will I have side effects from the existing opiates in my system combined with the large amount of bup
Avatar n tn If you are trying to break an addiction to Oxycontin then Oxycodone may be a way to taper --- I used Oxycodone (Percocet) to taper off of high doses of Oxycontin until I got down to about half my former dose - then went to Suboxone. Sub took away the W/D's in a matter of minutes the first time I took it. It is deceitful though and can be very addictive itself. Best of luck to you as you try to break free from this demonic drug. Lots of help here - keep posting.
Avatar n tn Hi Snap: Welcome, and I am glad you've decided to walk away from the opiates. I'm glad to hear you say you refuse to go back.. that's a start, but by no means the last and final word. Unless ofc, you are one of those rare people who can do it on sheer will power. I haven't met anyone like that yet. For most, it takes much more support and alternative tools to be successful.
