Avatar m tn Yes, it sounds normal to feel that way. Have you had to deal with any depression before? It you don't feel right you SHOULD NOT get off the suboxone! I can tell you from experience that you shouldn't because there is a chance of relapse and you dont want that... Im here if you wanna talk. I have been on suboxone before and now I have to get back on because I was not ready...
Avatar f tn first admission of relapse, was on subutex and suboxone for a long time to overcome opiate adiction. came off all meds in probably too short a time, due to personal reasons, couldnt handle the withdrawals and started using again.am sick worked really hard to get off have thrown it all away.
Avatar m tn but anyways i quit 7 days ago i was taking up to 10-15 vics/percs a day and than my buddy gave me 3 suboxone i spread them out only 3 over a 2 weeks process. The question i have i got off point was why last night after 7 days of sleeping and not really any withdrawls i went threw full blown withdrawls does anyone know or can help me out or tell me why.
Avatar m tn t understand the poll at all, or the question really. Why would you assume members would not stay clean after a Suboxone program? Not everyone relapses. Suboxone can be a great tool to help you get your life in order while not using and can be very effective if done properly. Did you relapse? Is that why you are asking?
1334146 tn?1303430199 I was on Suboxone for 18 months before going to a rehab for a week, where they took me off all CDSs including suboxone, xanax & adderall. After I was released, I felt so sick, I relapsed a few days later rather than call my psychiatrist and my mother had me arrested for possession of narcotics & having benzos without a prescription. I have never been arrested before and I'm terrified of what will happen when I do go to court to face these charges.
585134 tn?1218579114 I can relate to relapse! In my opinion, I would try hard not to go back to the methadone. At least you do have some 5mg hydros to taper with, although, I can understand that in this situation, this would be like tapering from Herion with codine, hence the hydros probably won't help all that much. Maybe cut the remaining dilaudid pills in half and use them when you absolutely have to get through the withdrawals.
Avatar n tn we moved out west so he was able to get away from where he knew to get drugs etc(obvi if you want to you can always find them). but I think it was easier for him not to relapse after getting off suboxone because he was in a different environment, but he also didn't feel well for a few weeks after he got off the suboxone....he had been using for about 3 years though so for him it seems it was a good thing.
Avatar n tn Suboxone is a medication used to prevent withdrawal symptoms in drug addiction treatment and to prevent relapse. In chronic pain patients without a history of misuse/abuse/addiction - Suboxone can be used for a few days to manage withdrawal symptoms while stopping opiates- it is typically dosed very low in these situations because a typical chronic pain patient choosing to get off opiates does not need higher doses or be on the medication longer than a few days.
Avatar m tn My concern for you is that you are not getting help and you could put yourself in a position to relapse after coming off of the Suboxone. Still, should you decide to come off be certain to taper as low as you can go and do this under your doctor's care. Let us know what you decide and we will be here to support you all the way!!
1392838 tn?1291404363 As soon as I stopped however there I was back on the pills.Today was my 1st day back on the suboxone and I will pick myself back up again and start over. My girl on the other hand is not too good. She had posted that she was clean from coke for over several months now. That all came to an end this weekend. There were a few triggers, and added to the fact she was in the wrong place at the wrong time, she relapsed and is having a hard time accepting it this time around.
Avatar f tn Were or are you in a recovery program? Suboxone doesn't just cure you. It's ment to be a short term drug to help you get off other drugs well you work a recovery program.....or you'll just constantly relapse. Anyway no he shouldn't turn you away. You said you quit the suboxone so you weren't taking narcotics well on the subs. But you never know? Docs can surprise you.
Avatar m tn I take suboxone. I am close to relapse and my doctor will not help. I am going to a new doc Monday morning. Will my insurance continue to pay for my meds if I switch doctors?
Avatar n tn You will put that to the test trying to quit long term suboxone use. I had a plan to quickly restart suboxone maintenance if there was any relapse. With less then a month off suboxone I feel very positive. I still haven't slept more then a couple hours a night. I might fail, but I might not!
Avatar n tn Every time I think I am out of the woods I have a relapse. (Not feeling well-Not a drug relapse). Today is one of those bad days. RLS and a headache. Nothing was as bad as the first 5 days but I still have lingering withdrawal. The Restless Leg Syndrome and the headaches are the worst. Feels like my legs are burning and the headaches are debilitating to the point where the only thing I can do is lay down and rest. On a positive note, I have been sleeping 8 and 9 hours.
Avatar m tn How sick after the first 24-72 hours? I'm on my fifth day and just starting to feel better.

Avatar f tn Anyway, I got a new set of issues or one. Suboxone!! I have been on this drug for three years. Dr put me on it when I was prego. I want off of it. Does anyone have any experience with this drug and getting off of it. Every time I try, I fail. I have gotten down to 8mg a day. I hate the taste of it. I hate to put it in my mouth.
Avatar m tn I have had three major back surgeries for which I was using strong opioids for two years. Started taking 16mg of Suboxone, Worked that down to 2mg and now I cut the tab in half for 1mg per day. Can a pharmacist custom make me even smaller doses so I can completely rid myself of taking this medication? Suboxone is very potent so a small does goes a long way, I need to find a way to take it is still smaller doses so I can stop taking it without getting sick. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn Contrary to IBK s comments, there is no documented correlation between premature relapse and length of suboxone taper. All the best. Regards Jeremy.
Avatar m tn s as often as I could afford for a couple years, getting by with suboxone when I couldnt. Two years ago I put myself on a suboxone regimen taking 2 mg twice daily, as the OC habit was getting very destructive. I didnt mind being on suboxone but it made me sort of complacent and depressed after a long time. So I finally tapered off suboxone in January. After 10 days totally clean I relapsed and went on a 3 day OC binge, and tore through 10 pills (much more then I have ever done).
493021 tn?1209435488 I relapsed only after a bout 10 hours, these vicodin have a grip on me like I have never felt, I have tried rehab twice twice it was just a bunch of meetings all day every day, I tried suboxone but have no insurace now and they are super expensive I truly do not know what to do , weaning doesnt seem to work either. any suggestions would be great, I guess it doesnt help I am in a rock relationship either.
556614 tn?1215836431 So needless to say I had to get my butt to a suboxone doctor today and he started me on 8mg of suboxone. I FEEL LILE SICH A FAILIRE!! SERIOUSLY TJE WHOLE TIME USING OVER THE LONG UEARS I ALWAYS SAOD THAT OF I COILD GST THE WOTHDRAWLS AND GET A COUPLE MONTHS OF "CLEAN TIME" UNDER MY BELT THEN I WOULD BE HOME FREE BABY YEAH!!!!!!
Avatar m tn As addicts we are liars and thieves in our active addiction so be careful if you see that type of behavior. Suboxone can be a helpful tool if used properly but the chance of relapse is statistically high. Protect yourselves and read as much about addiction as you can. Ask away here with any questions you may have. Every question is important. Best of luck to all of you and God Bless. Please keep us informed.
Avatar n tn Was this a relapse? a 3-4 month oxy habit is just not a suboxone problem as a rule...have u tried to stop alone? sub is an addicting narcotic as well with wds that can make a 3-4 month oxy habit look like a cake walk....be sure u know what u r doing..sub is for those on high quantity doses for an extended length of time that can not quyit on their own...fear of wd can paralyze u..
Avatar f tn The reason why they suggest that you stay on the program for at least six months is to avoid relapse. As I said, Suboxone is a program and the idea behind it is to stay off of opiates and spend some time getting your life back in order..physically, mentally, spiritually and financially. The counseling and the meetings can help you do that. the you can wean off of the Suboxone and with the knowledge and the time that you have gained you will have a much better shot at STAYING clean.
Avatar f tn I finally went to an addiction psychologist who put me on suboxone.. I have been taking suboxone for a year now. i know that my doc is leading me on to get his money every moneth. I was the one who sugested taking less of gthe sub. I want to be free of it but he never mentions taking less.
