1365271 tn?1277918074 I want to know the regulations for carrying on pills when getting on an airplane. Will they just go right thru the security check, or will security have to pull it out of my purse and verify it and all that?
Avatar m tn I was on suboxone for 7 months. At first I took them as planned and it was going well. After a month or so I relapsed. I relapsed several times. I know this was my fault and I have no one else to blame. My question is about sub regulations. During treatment I failed 2 drug tests, which should have caused me to be kicked out of the program. The Dr. never even mentioned it and kept filling my script, even after a 3rd failed drug test.
482728 tn?1208487636 Doctors are not legally allowed to write scripts for methadone for addiction purposes, that can only be done in a clinic setting due to Federal regulations controlling methadone. It can be written for pain management only by a regular doctor. Have you looked into Suboxone?? That is usually the better choice. Especially if you plan you actually get off opiates, alot of people that go the methadone route never get off of it. Or go through alot of pain attempting to get off.
Avatar m tn There are certainly very strict HIPPA and privacy regulations as well as simple doctor-patient confidentiality, however as soon as any information hits the insurers, all bets are off. All insurance companies share their vast information about all of us with each other and all the underwriters, so even though the employers or schools may not find out; if you ever what to buy life/health or other insurance the information will be there. And if it is there for them, who else is it there for?
Avatar m tn Hello and Welcome, Please excuse my tardy response. I hear your concern - and the fear that many of our PCP and PMP now face. I am not an expert on the laws of opiate RX. I know a bit through research and my PMPs educating and opinions. The drug rep is correct. Physicians require additional education to safely RX opiates according to the DEA. Around 2009, 2010 the FDA approved the Buprenorphine for Chronic Pain use.
1852582 tn?1319560212 all of a sudden decicded to take me off of pain pills and try different methods. And not bcause I abused them or anything like that, but more to do with state regulations or something.I also before starting the methadone tried. All kinds of other medicines. Antidepressants etc....I found out I'm also allergic to Acetamenphin and Ibuprofen.Anyway. I found the only thing that worked to get me off the couch was pain pills unfortunately. I now have a goo job and a productive part of society....
Avatar f tn ) I do like the sounds of suboxone over methadone, but I am afraid because I have read that you can have bad withdrawals from suboxone too? Also, suboxone treatment is a LOT harder to find in my city than methadone. I think there is maybe 2 doctors that prescribe it. Is it true that you can take carry doses home? We do have jobs and I go to school, so going into a clinic daily to take a dose of methadone would be hard. We really need to quit, it is too expensive. I need some guidance.
Avatar n tn I started suboxone today and let me tell ya...its great! I was given 4mg at 3pm it is now 11pm and I feel fine. I have no withdraws, cravings nada...I feel fine. I feel normal and not all cloudy. If anyone is thinking of trying it. Do yourself and your friends and family a favor and do it.
Avatar m tn not sure about the regulations...but...if she has been in china since 2006 it really doesnt matter if she tested to get in. she has been there for two years now...and alot can happen in two years. do you care MORE about "hurting her feelings" than you care about your health? dont be afraid to ask her about her sexual history.
Avatar f tn I am now trying to reduce my pain medication not thru choice but through govt regulations that say after 12 months I should no longer be on these medications. I am still suffering a broken leg, still unable to walk more than 50m and unable to sleep thru at night due to incredible leg pain. The only other option available to me at present is amputation and I am not prepared to go down this path until i am free from all other body pain so I can determine what pain my foot is giving me.
Avatar n tn Hi Jake, I am so sorry to hear that you are being treated so poorly. I have never heard of law that requires PMP to treat one with suboxone prior to narcotic therapy. You have not provided the state in which you reside in so I cannot investigate his claim. It is my understanding that suboxone is not recommended for pain management and indeed it will have no effect on pain. It is normally prescribed for withdrawal symptoms from opiates.
1141981 tn?1261076243 Hi. I have taken Suboxone and Subutex hear and there and finally went with the program for 1 year. I did exactly what the doctor said to do and found that in about 8 months in, I began to form anxiety problems which made it hard to interact with people and caused my jaw to lock up during conversation and it made me sweat extra. I noticed that some of my friends who where on Suboxone had the same problem around the same time that it happened to me.
Avatar f tn I did read some chats mentioning Suboxone. What is it ? Will it help me to switch to it to get off the patch faster ? Does it work for the W/D from fent ? Does it do anything for the pain ? Can some one tell me about it please?
Avatar f tn We’re calling today on the president of the United States to put a moratorium on regulations across this country, because his regulations, his EPA regulations are killing jobs all across America. Watch it: “We’re sending out a request today asking President Obama to put a moratorium on all regulations,” Perry said on WHO radio in Iowa, recorded live by ThinkProgress.
Avatar f tn I have been on suboxone for over 3 1/2 years under a doctor's care. My doctor was not the most ethical individual and when I moved away for college, he didn't help me get set up with anyone else. I have been trying to see a doctor here and found one, but it seems like there is always some issue. I am actually moving back home in a couple weeks, but my old doctor has already replaced me on the program. I don't want to see him again anyways.
Avatar f tn html WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney vowed in a campaign appearance earlier this year to “take a weed whacker” to the thicket of federal regulations adopted by the Obama administration and promised to impose a rigid freeze and cost cap on all new government rules.
7163794 tn?1457366813 Is it just me, or does it seem like alot of people are going from methadone w/d to suboxone? Is this a normal treatment protocol now? It really bothers (scares) me, b/c i wonder if these people or drs realize that it can be just as dangerous? Might just be that i seek out titles with suboxone in it, b/c it was my doc for such a long time, but it does seem like ive been seeing this more and more?
Avatar m tn This article should be of great interest to people in Pain Management and to all of us chronic pain sufferers in general. These regulations could set some very troubling precedents. “In an unusual move, the Washington State government is developing regulations meant to stop doctors from prescribing higher doses of powerful — and often dangerous — pain killers for patients who are not benefiting from them.
Avatar m tn This, with a note from your physican certifying 12 months of seizure free activity will probably permit you to drive non-commercially. The DOT physical is much more strict. Current Federal regulations under 391.41(b)(8) flat out prohibit anyone with a history of epilepsy from driving commercially. Forever. The original regulation was written in 1971, however, and proposals are now being considered to provide waivers, but this change in the regulations has not been approved.
535822 tn?1443976780 Social Security has strict standards (you can to their website ssa.gov as they have all their regulations listed) as regards what constitutes a listing for a specific disability for an adult and they (due to concerns like this raised by the public years ago) have regulations that are even more specific as regards what constitutes a listing for a child. I know having done representation in the past.
Avatar n tn But in their rules and regulations( which can be found below) there is no mention of retinal hole. All it says is its disqualifying to have lattice degeneration which interferes with visual acuity. And when i went to the concerned authority for clarification i was told that lattice degeneration and retinal hole is one and the same. I would like to know 1) Whether lattice degeneration and retinal hole is one and the same thing?

Avatar f tn ) The mission of the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) is to enforce the controlled substances laws and regulations of the United States. Controlled substances are put into one of five Schedules Schedule 1 Substances in this schedule have no currently accepted medical use in the United States, a lack of accepted safety for use under medical supervision, and a high potential for abuse. Avatar f tn Just to second forseegood, I have bought meds in Mexico a number of times, with no problems. Lately I've been importing asthma inhalers for 2/3 the price of my copay on Kaiser. They have a different name, but it's the same stuff. When my niece was a baby, we bought her Amoxicillin antibiotics during a Mexican trip. It came in a powder we had to mix with (bottled) water, rather than as a pre-mix like the ones we bought here. It seemed to work.
163305 tn?1333668571 Whether you believe enforcement of current regulations or additional regulations is the answer, we have two dozen people dead because there are some things that the federal gvernment does way better than individual states. 'States Rights' is the lamest buzz phrase since George Wallace used it to block kids from going to school. And yes, there are some things States can do better. Quality control of pharmaceuticals doesn't seem to be one of them.
