Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone prescription

suboxone

Avatar f tn I altered a prescription my doctor wrote the original script was written for Tramadol 50mg #50 I altered the script by changes the quantity to #150. I took it to a non chain (also known as a mom and pops) that I had never filled at. The pharmacist noticed it had been altered and called my doctor I heard him say to a nurse that it looked like I had changed the prescription and asked what it was supposed to be.
Avatar m tn I do not have a prescription for the suboxone and they gave it back to me without mentioning anything about. They gave me a paper telling me to appear in court to pay fine of $555 for my traffic ticket but no mention of the suboxone. Do I have something to worry about when I go to court. Will they mention the suboxone? or am I going to be okay since they gave the suboxone back and I don't think I saw anything about the suboxone on the inventory report they read back to me.
Avatar m tn He has closed his practice and has moved to California. I made the switch to a doctor who is brand new in prescribing suboxone. I feel the therapist does not understand or can relate to what it has been like to be an addict. When I found Suboxone it was a miracle. I only saw this facility one time in Asheville since the switch from Johnson city, and while I was there I had a torn ligament on my physically deformed left hand.
Avatar m tn by njshar, 3 minutes ago I was given Subutex in a private office setting to detox, followed by a prescription for Suboxone to pick up and take at home. Honestly I felt that the Subutex worked much better to take away withdrawl symptons than Suboxone did when I got home. The lady told me that they use Subutex to detox and then send you home with a script for Suboxone. I would rather just take Subutex. Are they really that different or is it all in my "head"????
Avatar f tn You could ask your doc if it is ok to take suboxone with the new meds since it is a prescription and not a street drug. If suboxone is not compatible with the new meds then your doc can prescribe you with something else.
717440 tn?1292743742 alot of people have great success getting over opiates using suboxone. my boyfriend is highly addicted to them and suboxone helps him big time. but, if u dont have insurance.........o wait, u all have insurance so to speak up there, right? socialized medicine??
Avatar m tn can a pharmacist call a dentist that wrote a prescription for Vicodin and tell him that i am taking suboxone,i thought that addiction problems were confidential. She never came and spoke t me, to find out if I had worked something out with the doctor that prescribes the medication. I believe if she was to call anyone she should of called my suboxone doctor!!!
Avatar n tn does anyone know if there is a prescription meds that will help a person to get off subs.. help to stop withdraws from it.. im right now on really low dose from 8 mg i have taper down.. im now on .05mg a day.. for 2 week now.. i have stopped taking my dose everyday... feeling like im dieing also feeling really depressed. im getting severe body aches please help? i have been taking multi vitamins.. to clean my system an hot baths but not helping.
Avatar n tn It is my understanding that Suboxone is used to help an addict get off of prescription pills, so why would a doctor say this? He is trying to get Vicodin from someone, saying he needs to have a urine test and it has to come up that he is using in order for him to get the Suboxone. If he comes up clean, they won't give it to him. Does this sound correct? Or is he just trying to pull the wool over her eyes?
Avatar m tn If they don't have any imprints on them they probably aren't suboxone or subutex. Like mentioned above, suboxone are orange with a N8 on them and are an orange or pinkish color. As of now there is not a generic version of Suboxone on the market yet. Generic subutex are white and do have some numbers imprinted on them. I don't think there are any prescription meds out there that do not have some sort of imprint on them. Sounds like he may be trying to pull a fast one on you.
752888 tn?1263248042 BOSTON (FOX25, myfoxboston) - In the destructive world of opiate addiction, heroin and OxyContin usually steal the headlines, but that may be changing thanks to a new prescription drug – Suboxone, FOX Undercover’s Mike Beaudet reports. Like heroin and OxyContin, Suboxone is part of the opiate family of drugs, but unlike unlike its notorious cousins it's supposed to help addicts stop taking opiates.
Avatar m tn I researched as much as I could on the drug suboxone. I looked at it again and the possibilities for me to get clean were far greater with suboxone then without it. I decided it was something I needed to try. I called on Friday and mad appt.. for Monday. Well I got the suboxone on Monday and gradually increased meds each day to get to 16 mg a day. I am on day 7 today and I feel wonderful. I can get up each day and not even think about where my next fix is coming from.
1462755 tn?1286048715 I saw the suboxone doctor this morning and he gave me a prescription for 4mg 4 times a day. I took the first dose and feel better already. I have read a lot of information on line and the information that the doctor gave me to read. I would still love to hear about anyone's experiences with this. For so long I tried to make myself believe that I could do it on my own. I would get a prescription filled, take it way too fast, and then suffer withdrawals until the next refill date.
Avatar f tn Ended up leaving his addiction therapists office and buying it on the street due to the outrageous price of the prescription. He has been without suboxone since April 25th (tapered down to 2 mg. every 8 hrs). WTF...depression has taken over, severe lack of motivation. How long will this last? We own our own business and without him, there is no business. I'd be willing to bet that quitting the pain meds caused him to become bipolar (sounds ridiculous, right?)..
Avatar n tn im perscribed pain medicine but i took a half of a suboxone and a hour later had to go take a drug test cause i got hurt at work would it of showed up that soon or would it of showed up at all?
Avatar f tn Hi SupaT, you best ooption would really be to detox from the Methadone and get clean - Shrimpman is right, Suboxone is just substituting one for another and it is very difficult to detox from, esspecially after long term use. If detox is not an option at this point, talk with a suboxone doc in Canada - if that is your only option. Don't you have suboxone on Bermuda as an option? Shrimpman - way to go, I was wondering how you were doing. Congrats on your 14 days clean time!
877402 tn?1241569071 Subutex is given during the first few days of treatment, while Suboxone is used during the maintenance phase of treatment. Like methadone, Suboxone can then be gradually weaned and stopped, eliminating physical dependence on opioids. Clonidine is a blood pressure medicine that acts on the brain. Clonidine reduces the effects of the "fight or flight" response, which is over-activated during opioid withdrawal.
Avatar f tn I was recently put on suboxone strips and having bad side effects with them! I have been on suboxone pills before and they helped, no side effects! I read that the films are 30% stronger?could that be a reason? Also, I got scared/tired of the side effects and got my percocet prescription filled and now worried that I might get in trouble? But I have also read that a person can get suboxones filled and their pain meds filled, is this true?
Avatar m tn If Suboxone is given to someone using full agonist opiates the Suboxone will push those meds off the receptors and Suboxone takes its place. Since the receptors are now bound to an agonist that only generates a partial response the user will likely experience "precipitated withdrawal". Precipitated withdrawals are UGLY! This characteristic of Suboxone is important to anyone facing a major surgery.
1356157 tn?1285445697 The Suboxone has a long half life so it is still in your system. Why only a half? Are you doing this through a program under doctor's supervision?
Avatar f tn 300 mg roxy, go cold turkey and on day three eat, walk around, converse normally, just some aches and pains. Started suboxone. but thought that took 24 to 36 hours to kick in. . . . is this on the level or is someone not really clean?
Avatar f tn Im from Victoria Australia and will be traveling to the United States in a couple of months.Im planning on staying for 6 weeks, can i take 6 weeks worth of Suboxone to the united states? What can I do? Thanks in advance for responses.
