1392838 tn?1291404363 Hi all....I'm new to the site courtesy of my girlfriend who has been a member for awhile. Now I am in the same predicament-I am an addict.I am a very private person so to post at all is tough for me.I am also a VERY determined person and once I put my mind to something,I will achieve/attain it.So....I have sought out the help of a suboxone doctor, but I have questions about the sboxone...I'm hoping you guys can help? Will I have any withdrawl side affects while on the sub?Approx.
Avatar f tn later due to my pregancy, i just recently changed back from subutex to suboxone and I have been experienced alot of issues with suboxone films. Im on 10mg films a day which would be one and i cut 2 mg off the other film, once a day. But anyways, I have had lack of motivation, joint soreness(knee pain), cold sensitivity, tension headaches 2-43 x a week, hairloss and i actually now have a complete spot of my scalp showing, my skin is dry and cracking.
Avatar n tn The active narcotic in the Suboxone is Buprenorphine, which is a synthetic opiate and, on the non-certified tests that are much less reliable, both the synthetic and semi-synthetic opiates have been known to cause false positives for their relatives. And, in this case, Oxymorphone is another synthetic opiate. This has happened to many people, because the doctor's offices are not required to use certified tests, thus they usually use a lab that was the cheapest bidder for their business.
372880 tn?1332879487 I started on suboxone october 9th @ 4 mg/day. Today I am taking 12mg/day. I turned to suboxone after a decade or so of opiate abuse. My D'sOC are ultram and norco. I was taking about 100mg a day of the norco, or 15 ultram/day, or a combo of the 2 before starting the sub. I was worried about seizures w/the ultram and my liver w/the APAP in the norco.I cannot taper. I also have historically been unable to stick w/the CT approach with the exception of pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I think this is interesting but the only part of this that is relevant to someone getting off dope is that drugs with a long half life - like suboxone and methadone - take longer to get off your receptors and because of that are associated with longer more severe withdrawals. I don't know the exact half life of morphine but it is relatively short compared to the others I mentioned. I know this is more of an answer than you bargained for but c'mon, you learned something right?
Avatar f tn You know I feel almost like you I love this site and it has help me a lot but when I read strories about suboxone negative stories it really scares me and that minute I could be in the best mood but I read and everything changes all my emotions just go to the drain after so sometimes I feel like I shouldn't be on the site so much.
Avatar f tn After a very sudden separation from my now ex-wife in Feb of 2009 I plunged into a terrible depression, not surprisingly considering I have battled mild issues with anxiety and depression my entire adult life. I had always self-medicated for what has now been diagnosed as fast cycle bi-polar disorder. I used alcohol and marijuana daily for anxiety and and when the depression hit I'd reach for an opiate.
397118 tn?1219762250 Hi everyone I just wanted to post and tell you all that is been 3 1/2 days with out using norcos and 2 1/2 on suboxone and I feel great, I can't discribe the feeling that I have so far no mayor W/S and I hope to keep it that way. I do have 2 questions for those that know and used sub; 1) W/S worsen after using sub? 2) how long should I use sub? Thank you all for your support.
Avatar f tn The wd was miserable, and here I am hating life and my situation addicted to vicodin. When I heard about suboxone, it sounded like a miracle answer. The more I educate myself, though, i am feeling leery. I need help. I HAVE to quit. Reading posts in this forum has been more uplifting and educational than any other. So here it is, my first post. Any suggestions whether or not suboxone is right?
1468545 tn?1296601775 Went from that to methadone or whatever I could get my hands on for about a year. Then suboxone for 1-2 year but never did more than 1mg a day of suboxone. So although my w/d was 100% from suboxone I still feel im cleaning my body of the last 6-7 years. Im on my day 16 now though and figured I would be getting some normal sleep and thats just not the case. When I lay down my minds still going 1 million mph and I still start rocking occasionally.
Avatar f tn I'm currently on suboxone and have been since September 10, 2012. I started at 24 mg per day and am down to 8 mg. I don't take it every day anymore...just usually 2 or 3 times a week. I'm really happy to have been clean for this long!! But...I'm not my "normal" self!! I used to be the funny/fun girl. Always quick with a laugh or silly remark. Now, I feel like I don't even know who I am!! I feel uptight!! I don't know howto let my hair down and have fun anymore!
Avatar m tn d regardless and will probably need to be on an antidepressant or something the rest of my life( which the suboxone in some states is used for, antidepressants and pain). Also you can get a shot of vivitrol, it lasts a month and it takes all the BS from the dope, cravings, withdrawals ect..... away. But there about 400$ a shot. Anyways there's lots of government help for suboxone(money wise) if you don't have insurance and the website has coupons and help as well.
1800740 tn?1324237171 t seems like you are on the right track with the decisions you are making in your life. I will caution you though that even though Suboxone is an FDA approved treatment for addiction, it is still a partial opioid receptor agonist making it technically a narcotic itself. Suboxone 8mg should be enough to cover you even though you may have some symptoms for a few days, but they should not be intolerable.
574633 tn?1314209393 I am living a life second to the drug of Opiates..Wife of a user..Wow for life? I don't think I want to finish the rest of my life with his addiction.. If he goes back to it again I am done... suboxone for 3 weeks and 5 NA meetings... He too has real pains... He seems high like he did when he was taking opiates by his eyes.. One half open rubbing his chin and lips.. like he did when he was high.. We talk nothing about his meetings and his thoughts...
Avatar m tn t experience withdrawing from heroin was RLS and I do coming off suboxone and it is a bit**. Suboxone will not help you live a normal life. Its a very foggy one.
Avatar n tn i have to say- i agree with you. suboxone is an absolute life saver. it saved my husbands life. he would have died without it... he was a heroin and oxycontin addict. which i have found is the road a lot of addicts end up on because heroin is cheaper than oxys and more potent depending on what you get. yes coming off suboxone does cause withdrawals, but it doesnt have to and dont let the thought of that stop your amazing recovery.
792787 tn?1259877840 The things with gettin off suboxone is that it has a long life, u dot start withdrawing from it til 36 hrs after ur last dose. So needless to say, suboxone withdrawal last 3-17 weeks! So I'm in for the long haul, u are supposed to be weaned down not quit cold turkey! So if u have any questions don't hesitate to ask! Best wishes to u!
Avatar f tn Please do your research. Most people who have been through Suboxone/Subutex treatment say they wish they never did it. The withdrawals are longer, meaner, and just more taxing on the body. You are just substituting one opiate (your drug of choice) for a much stronger opiate that has a crazy-long half life that binds to receptors so strongly, that withdrawals usually take months until you are feeling back to close to normal. IMO - not worth it.
