My Question is CAN the Suboxone ALONE take care of the PAIN, the SPASMS, the SHAKING, the Neurological probs i have AS THE CALCIUM AHS GROWN - i have NOT needed a Raise in does since my return to the U.S. TWO (2)YEARS ago!!
Subutex is widely abused and replaced heroin for many addicts in Europe. Take the option out of your hands....get clean with suboxone then get the 3 month naltrexone shot which prevents opiate highs for 3 months. If u try you will feel NOTHING....take your brain and thought process out of the equation.....
You'll have to excuse my ignorance, I know they we're using it in Europe for pain management, actual their using Subutex which doesn't have the naloxone. But I didn't know they were using it here, it usually used to treat opioid dependency.
I guess some people have had success with it helping their pain. Pain Management is often trial and error, if it doesn't help after awhile, his Doctor's going to have to try something else.
Dude, you need to ask a doctor. What worries me is that you are referring to suboxone first in 2 ml's and then you refer to using a gram a day. Suboxone is does in mg's and the biggest single pill to my knowledge is 8 mg's, however many people are perscribed much more. I used percocets and OC's for a few years and I self medicated myself to 2 mg's daily, but only after thorough research and consultation.
I am currently taking somewhere between 2-4 mg Subutex( Suboxone) daily and have only 10 free of any other opiates, in order to do this I left the big city and have been staying in the countryside and have been feeling soooo much better, but there is still one big problem. You see in Europe anyone at anytime can purchase a syringe from the local Pharmacy without a prescription and here in Europe Subutex is more commonely given out instead of Suboxone.
sub is more powerful than methadone and the doses they prescribe are astronmical..both were pain meds in europe/meth/germany..and the usa adopted them for detox drugs...sub is called temazepam in other countries and is prescribed in 0.2 mgs for pain....here they will rx 32 mgs and claim it is safe/..it is powerful and people need to know their drugs...methadone is still used for pain in the usa...sub is not/only for detox...be safe and be sure u learn about what u take...there r no free rides..

You are paranoid about the Government taking away a drug that really doesnt have much of a high or anything? I feel that you will see nothing but more suboxone ala the European Community model and it will be used for pain - just like the first stuff I got in Europe in early 2000's............ Sub is here to stay ..............
At 1 mg per day, you are still on 1000 micrograms per day-- a high dose of buprenorphine. In Europe, they used to call Suboxone 'HDB' or 'high dose buprenorphine'; I wish we did that here, too, to help people remember how the medication works.
As you get to lower doses, people will cut the strip with a razor, or dissolve the tablet and dose with an eyedropper, to get smaller doses.
t allow me to receive more than a 6 months supply before I leave for a year in Spain. They said to have someone in the US pick up the refills and mail them to me in Spain. But I've heard horror stories about Customs in Spain holding onto packages for weeks. I had a TT and thus needs my meds for survival (this is the only thing about my condition that freaks me out...the idea that I might not have the meds available for some reason).

The active ingredient in Butrans is buprenorphine - the same active ingredient in Suboxone. Buprenorphine is also available in pill form under the brand name Subutex. And yes, Suboxone requires a govenment-mandated seminar for its prescribers, but there is a loophole. I understand that if doctors write "for pain" on the prescription, they can legally prescribe it.
What Suboxone has that the patch and Subutex does not is naloxone.
My psychatrist/addiction specialist wants me to get on Suboxone for my chronic pain. He doesn't like Suboxone but, b/c I have been in non-stop excruating pain with my Chronic Intertitial Cystis, Vulvodynia, Pelvic pain syndrome nd bowl problems. He doesn't want me back on any pain meds even after sugery but he saying as a last resort to use the suboxone for long term use for my severe chronic pain!
These drugs are
not hard to the liver, and people who take these drugs have the same result to the hep C treatment. In europe you have to use these drugs, and stop with heroine and another drugs who not are controlled by the goverment. When we get these drugs from goverment we also must give urine-test, so they know that you do not use another drugs.
But also cant afford to have anything else goign into my system that is addicting either. So, if suboxone is in anyway addicting I cant afford to take it either. Cold Turkey would have to be the way for me. I have one shot at this and thats it. And I have a week to do it. So, its all or none......... Thanks for your advice Cathy.....
I am pretty sure that most of the people that are on SUBOXONE first got on the med in hopes that they can lead a drug-free life. Opoid addiction is a disease that comes with consequences, It is sad when patients, who are in real pain are given narcotics for treatment. without there knowledge of it's long-term, nightmarish effects.
