Avatar m tn Hello, I've been on suboxone for 10 months. 2.5 8 mg daily. I'm curious as to how long my withdrawls will last if I just stop taking it. Please help.
Avatar n tn Hi, There are no medical experts here and we cannot give you dosing instructions per our guidelines. I suggest that once you get back home you seek a doctor who is certified to prescribe Suboxone and get in the program if you feel that is the way to go. Just taking one now and again to prevent withdrawal is certainly not what they are prescribed for and if you go on the program you have a chance to get things in order and prevent a relapse.
Avatar m tn I went to detox in August spent 6 days there with methodone treatment but left feeling just as sick so started percs again. Sun I started suboxone 20mg Mon I took 16mg Tues 14mg and Wed 8mg. Today I am going for 4-6mg then Fri 2-4 and hopefully nothing this weekend as I am off work and can go through some wds. I am wondering how bad it will be and is this acceptable taper process. My dr.
Avatar m tn Just got prescribed suboxone two days ago, 2mg 3x a day... here is how I plan on taking it Day 1 - 2 pills Day 2 - 3 Day 3 - 2 Day 4- 1.5 Day 5- 1.5 Day 6 - 1 Day 7 - 1 Day 8- .5 Day - JUMP! how will my withdrawals be at this point? I want off of this ASAP and want to do it in a way that I wont WD really... any advice???
Avatar m tn I did a lot of research when a friend was going to go on suboxone. Ideally, the doctor should start the induction of suboxone with you in his office. I think you will have to wait for a while before you can take the sub again. You are supposed to be in moderate withdrawal before starting. Precipitated withdrawals are pretty scary sounding. Do you think you went into precipitated withdrawals when you took it? Did the doctor talk to you about the COWS scale?
Avatar f tn After reading many posts in regards to suboxone I feel obligated to share my professional advise. First off I am a Pain Mgmt nurse, and I have been through many seminars presenting suboxone. For some, I understand that there may be no other choice. But I am here to tell you that you are only replacing one drug with another.
Avatar n tn I have gone from taking 20-30 30mg OC's to nothing for two days into 8mg of suboxone for the last 3 days. Should I be on more suboxone than what I am on? I can not go to a DR because I am stuck at work. Please help, I feel like I am having withdrawals right now!!!
Avatar f tn Hello... So I have a question about suboxone. I started taking 1 mg 6 days ago and have been taking 1 mg each day since, at a later time each day) after a 20 pill a day norco habit for the past several years. (The pill count has risen in that time). I'm planning on dropping down to half that dose and extending it to every 2 or 3 days depending on how I feel and stopping complately after several days of doing that.
Avatar n tn I am SOOOO TIRED of stupid people giving bad advice about subutex because they mistake it for suboxone!! GRR!! I am in w.d and I need sound accurate information about subUTEX! My doctor gave me suboxone, told me to take it as close to the 2 day mark as i could. I did, 42 hours, and I went into precipitated withdrawls. mind you, i am coming off of 30mg methadone which stays in your system significantly longer than any other opiate.
Avatar f tn Also, suboxone is not usually recommended during pregnancy. If you are already on suboxone, you will most likely be switched over to methadone. Suboxone withdrawal in the pregnant woman is just as dangerous to the fetus as mom.going through methadone withdrawal.
Avatar f tn I have been on suboxone for 3 years now, I recently was laid off and can't afford cobra insurance does anyone have any information on how I can continue suboxone w/out insurance?
Avatar n tn Began taking 24mg Suboxone about 1.5 yrs ago (for maintenance from heroin addiction), and have gotten myself down to 8-16mg, depending on the day and whatever willpower i can conjure up. It has been a drag. I'm no stranger to w/d, have been an opiate addict for 10+ yrs and at one time i even had to rapid-detox off of 160mg of Methadone after a maintenance period of 4 yrs (no words).
Avatar n tn Hi, I am sorry but it is a violation of our guidelines to provide taper schedules. I know you don't want to hear this but you should not take Suboxone purchased on the street. Suboxone is a program and not intended for a short detox. It should be prescribed and monitored under a doctor's care and followed by counseling. It is a way to help you get your life back and learn to live without the use of drugs.
Avatar m tn Its my first day quitting this ****. I feel awful on the suboxone I don't know if i didn't wait long enough. I took my last 6 15mg roxis last night about 830.. today I started feel withdrawls and took my first 1/2 8mg box at 1230 and it didn't help any... so I call my doctor and they said take another half and I guess it makes me feel some what better. I have the shakes something serious a long with the runs and the chills... What do I do Suboxone is supposed to help.
Avatar m tn Can anyone give me a successful suboxone taper chart or schedule? I've been on 32mg but i've cut myself down to 24mg a day. Tomorrow i am going to jump down to 16mg. I would like to make myself a schedule to successfully get off sub. I am ready to. I don't want to use anymore and i'm ready to feel normal without anything. i've been doing very well so far. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn Sophie, I am sorry you are feeling so poorly. It is a violation of our guidelines to provide any information regarding dosing, etc. Go to Suboxone.com and there you can do your research and even find a new doctor. I hope you get this straightened out soon and it all works out for you. Stick around here for support.
Avatar f tn s have different guidelines regarding the starting time. Generally you have to wait atleast 12-24hrs for shorter acting opiates, 48hr-72hrs for longer acting opiates. But again your best bet is to call your doctor tomorrow before you decide to start the suboxone. If you happen to take it too soon it can send you into precipated withdrawals which are absolutely terrible, so be very careful. Best of luck with your treatment.
