Suboxone going generic

Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone going generic

suboxone

Avatar m tn As of now there is not a generic version of Suboxone on the market yet. Generic subutex are white and do have some numbers imprinted on them. I don't think there are any prescription meds out there that do not have some sort of imprint on them. Sounds like he may be trying to pull a fast one on you. He may be trying to make you think he is going to get clean taking suboxone when in fact he is just taking "fake" suboxone while he is still taking dilaudid.
Avatar f tn If any body has been thru this Please let me know your thoughts... Also Does anyone know if SUBUTEX not Suboxone comes in a generic ??? Thanks so much...
351846 tn?1273615544 I am taking suboxone and just got my script filled yesterday and it is still orange and used under the tongue. I saw the doctor also and he said nothing about there being a change in how it was dispensed.
1468549 tn?1286750787 The doc was kind enough to give me a script to 120 of the generic 'subotex' as the suboxone has no generic yet. What is the difference? I can't afford the $400 yet to fill the script so I am buying weekly Suboxone from the doc office (at $8 apiece!) until I can fill my script. But can anyone explain the difference bewteen the two? I know the suboxone also has that drug that throws you into withdrawals if it is mainlined,. but I would never do that.
Avatar f tn i took 30 tramadol a day. what is the typical suboxone dose for that amount of use?
Avatar f tn Anyway my question is does anyone know if they have come out with a generic Suboxone yet and if so will it be any cheaper and is there any type of Patient Assistance program that could help me. Im so scared that Im not gonna be able to afford my Subs and go back to Methadone or even something worse. Please let me know what yall think. God Bless you All.
900457 tn?1266782689 Medi-cal DOES pay for the suboxone and subutex(and generic of subutex) you only have to apply for a tar with your pharmacy. It takes about 3 days to get it. If your pharmacist is cool like mine then they will give you some meds to take home while they get the script paid for. Your doctor will have to supply info for medi-cal on why you need the meds. ITS SUPER EASY THOUGH. just talk to your pharmicist. If you go to a dr that takes medi-cal then your appt fee should be free too.
Avatar f tn Bups loose their patton in october of this year so there will be generic bups soon. But suboxone is incredibly harderr to synthesize so they will not be generic for some time because they are expensive and difficult to manufacture. There is no immediate danger to subs, Im just very passionate about this drug and want the addicts of the future to have access to it.
481056 tn?1240138727 I haven't been on here in a while because things have been going well being on suboxone. Well, now I want off and my insurance is forcing me to get off. I think I am on way to high of a dose anyways. So, if anyone out there has any suggestions for me I would greatly appreciate it. If I stop taking my suboxone how long before I go into withdrawals? I currently take 1-8/2mg pill in the morning and 1 1/2-8/2mg pill in the afternoon (12 mg). So I am on a total of 20mg of sub....
Avatar f tn I started suboxone two years ago and moved to NM and was unable to get a doctor after the move. I called every number listed and every number those numbers would give me 11 times over 18 months. The first time I was on Suboxone my initial dose was 8mg a day. I had tapered down to 3, 1.5 pills when I had to give up suboxone and return to my drugs of choice because I cannot handle withdrawal. Finally, a couple of weeks ago I got lucky and found a new doctor before he was full. YAY!
Avatar m tn is there any state or federal programs to help my dependency on opiate an get on suboxone the only thing that helps but i can;t afford to go with no insurance
Avatar f tn It all depends on the type of test they would be testing you with! Most drug screenings test for all of them. But some places only test specifically for suboxone subutex and opiates. I would just call up to the doctor office and ask, u dont necessarily have to give them your name if u ask a generic question such as that!
Avatar n tn ibeen clean for 2 1/2 days and its a rough go..i was thinking about going to the hospital to ask for the suboxone..is anyone else taking it?
752888 tn?1263248042 I just want to point out that Doctors do not get kickbacks for prescribing Suboxone. First of all, until recently there wasnt even a generic for Suboxone, so there isn't another drug in it's class to be given preference over. Secondly, taking financial incentives for prescribing Suboxone is illegal.
Avatar f tn Generic Suboxone and Subutex is and has been available for some time now. You may try one of the legit online pharmacies. I do know that Walgreens carries it and may possibly be able to order it quickly if they don't already have it.
1477820 tn?1287432081 the clinic im going to offers suboxone but its really spendy..im self-pay, no health insurance....so thats why im on methadone....
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried Requip for Restless Legs while trying to detox off of Subutex or Suboxone? This is the worst part for me in trying to get off of Subutex & I am literally scared sh**less of them. I had them so bad that I almost over-dosed on Klonopin & Somas (from a family member) to rid myself of them. I am on less than 1 mg of Subutex a day now & having anxiety & diarrhea. That I can handle, but the RLS I can not. Any advice or experience would be great!
Avatar m tn I was one of those that knew NOTHING about subutex/suboxone going on it OR coming off it. I was on gabapentin at the time. I jumped off at a ridiculously high dose. I was on subutex for 7 days and suboxone for 21 days.....I REALLY did not like the psyc dr that prescribed them to me in the first place. Point being, when I did that....I WAS on gabapentin and had not found this forum or read anything yet....but SINCE then.....I have read that gabapentin can help while w/drawing....
Avatar m tn SUBOXONE--- HAS anyone that has been on Suboxone ever had the side effect of uncontrollable ITCHING? Scratch till your raw? Or any other side effects that make life more difficult? I was on Suboxone for two years, off for 3 months with opiates, and now on again for a month. The itching started small after a few weeks on Sub But now I scratch everywhere there is hair and just below my knees , my back arms, and high on my butt.
Avatar m tn ALOT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE WANTING TO BEAT THEIR ADDICTION HAVE BEEN TRYING TO QUIT BY GOING TO SUBOXONE DR.S OR SUBOXINE TREATMENT FACILITIES AND ARE BEING TOLD THAT IF YOU TAKE A VERY HIGH AMOUNT OF A STRONG OPIATE THAT SUBOXONE WONT HELP. THIS IS VERY FALSE INFORMATION!!! I WENT TO A PLACE CALLED STEPPING STON CENTER FOR REVOVERY IN JACKSONVILLE FL. FOR SIX WEEKS WHERE THEY DETOXED ME OFF OF 7-8 OPANA FOURTY'S A DAY TAKEN UP THE NOSE WITH SUBOXONE AND I HAD ALMOST ZERO WITHDRAWL SYMPTOMS.
947931 tn?1251495088 re not using other types of opiates---whereas other more generic tests like home tests and such just test positive no matter what type of opiate you've used)
Avatar f tn I've been reading posts on suboxone for a few hours now on this site and I have a few questions but first ill give you some background information. I am a 22yr old male. I started taking hydrocodone in the sixth grade. So that makes 11yrs I've been addicted. Currently I take 3 pills every 2hrs, so that makes 27 pills in a day. I usually take 10.650's or 10.500's but sometimes 7.5's.
Avatar n tn Now if you did take 56 8mg tabs of suboxone I would go to the ER to get checked out or atleast contact the suboxone hotline. Again Im hoping Im just misunderstanding what you posted. Keep us posted on how things go and remember the ceiling effect of suboxone is 32mgs, there absolutely no benefit to taking more than that. I hope everything works out for you, you really gotta be ready to quit for this process to work, let us know how things go. Until then be safe and take care of yourself.
Avatar f tn I really thought being on the Subs was going to be a short thing. But every time I turned around there was a tradgedy in my family and I and my doc knew it was not the time to start to wean off. I pray that my life will get better and I can get off these things. I am so tired of taking them. I want out!
1170366 tn?1263919479 It's coincidental that the previous poster "chemister" is talking about using subutex. The difference with suboxone and subutex is suboxone has naloxone in it. It's only there to make one sick if they try to inject the subs. So unless you're an IV drug user you're better off with subutex. :) Subutex is also available as a generic so you'll pay a fraction of the cost of a very expensive medication. Subs cost a lot.
369629 tn?1237812958 The problem with Suboxone being that it is also a highly addictive drug, and the withdrawal from Suboxone is just as difficult, if not moreso, than any of the others. Sub in both of its forms (Subutex for the beginning of treatment and Suboxone for the maintenance phase) is a drug that is used to treat opiate dependence, however, like methadone, it too is addictive, so once you use Subutex and Suboxone to get away from the opiates, you then have to detox from the Suboxone.
