suboxone

994981 tn?1249564028 Hi Summer, While Suboxone truly is a 'wonder-drug', there are some very important things you should consider before making the decision to go on it. When you start it, you need to be in withdrawals already - otherwise you can go into what is known as "precipitated withdrawals". I've done this once, and believe me you do not want to go through this. Your best bet is to have the Doctor guide you on when you're in withdrawals enough to start using Suboxone.
Avatar f tn I was on Suboxone for about three months and then I relapsed. I was taking 8mg a day for two days, then just one 8 mg a day for the rest of the time. It is crucial to talk to your doctor...(thats one of the reasons I probably relapsed). Suboxone made me feel very normal..kinda weird for a few days. Almost, like I didn't know what to do with myself. Keep busy and try to get some vitamins and a sleep aid.
Avatar f tn You can get off them. Suboxone helps some people. When I was ready to quit, I was so ready to have that monkey off my back, that I chose not to do that. I was just so damn ready to have my life and my mind back again. You can do it missy. One day at a time, and everyday will be at least different until they start getting better. How long have you been using?
14628092 tn?1437549117 I have the utmost respect for Jifmoc. Great advice from someone how's walked the walk. I have a different view of how suboxone can help. The drug is very controversial. Doctors and Pharma have failed miserably in regards to preparing people to use the drug and they have performed worse getting people off the drug. It's an extremely powerful opiate that is highly addictive. We really aren't "clean" when we are on it. So, why do we use it.
186166 tn?1385259382 I think to each their own, and also after awhile suboxone does not help with opiate cravings. And if you do try to get high on it (take more than you should) you get sick, headaches.
994981 tn?1249564028 I was using around 80-140mg a day every day for over 10 months, and going through hell with money issues, and only getting high for an hour or two off a perc 30. So i asked a friend if he could get me a suboxone, and he got me one, I split one suboxone 8mg several times, and just did the last of it, I am getting another one soon. However one suboxone lasted me 2 full days of no opiates. and I feel great already! you only need a little bit, you are not to chew them or swollow them.
Avatar m tn Forgot to mention I have Thyroid disease also, Hypo/Hashimoto's and thus far Suboxone or Suboxone w/d has not effected my THS levels. I have bloodwork every 3 months and there has been no change. I don't know the answer if you have Hyperthyroidism. Mine goes up and down on its own as that is the nature of the Hashimotos. If you do get a Drs. help or advice, make sure you mention all the meds and health concerns you have.
Avatar m tn If you are on 18mgs of Suboxone, you should not be feeling any secondary withdrawal from the oxy.. Suboxone, namely Bupenorphine which is the opiate in suboxone, is much stronger than oxy and 18mgs is a lot. Are you taking the subx via a subxone doctor? He/she should be able to help you with a taper.. everyone has an opinion on suboxone but from my experience - the shorter the time on sub and the lower the dosage you jump from equals the least amount of withdrawal..
Avatar n tn Suboxone can help, but does she Want to get help? How long have you been clean for, and are you in any type of aftercare yourself? This must be very hard on you as a recovering addict.
Avatar m tn Where are you getting the suboxone? How long have you been on the sub this time? I'm glad to hear ur doing this for you because it wont work if we try and do it for anyone else. There's no way around the withdrawals. But the good news is you only have to go through the withdrawals once and that's it. Is there any meetings you can get to? Any support around you?
Avatar f tn Suboxone will utterly **** you up to begin with. But, the more you take it, the less you feel unless you up your dosage. But, it is addictive so don't let anyone tel any of you different. As for being on Suboxone & trying to get high on other drugs as well, you can not get high on any type of pain medication while on it but as for speed, nerve pills, basically anything else but pain medication, you can still get high.
Avatar m tn i have a question about Suboxone. Forgive me if I sound dumb or stupid, but just looking for some information. Does Sub get a person "High" i've been taking it for my opiate addiction (4days now) of course started to taking this to minimize the W/D and cravings from the Hydro's but I never got a "high" from it.
1356157 tn?1285445697 The Suboxone has a long half life so it is still in your system. Why only a half? Are you doing this through a program under doctor's supervision?
Avatar m tn Suboxone is a maintenance opiate replacement drug like methadone. It has a different mechanism of action, and makes it difficult to get a high on. 3 years is reasonable for someone to be on Sub. However, he is abusing the medication by changing its method of delivery. It's a sublingual pill that's supposed to be left under the tongue to dissolve. The pill has a ceiling effect of about 4mg, so snorting them shouldn't change the high involved.
Avatar m tn Even though I am down to 40mg the w/ds are still really bad. I have used suboxone (not my scipt) in the past and got off really easily with only like 8 pills. Of course I decided to use again "one more time" and am back in the same boat. Basically I wanna know the best way to find a doctor/clinic that understands my situation and might be able to get my on a short-term suboxone program. I cannot afford or deal with any sort of inpatient or full on rehab program right now.
1229026 tn?1267407213 Look I read about a lot of these guys post and some are ok and yeah it will help a little, However this is the real stuff to do. THIS IS WHAT THEY GIVE YOU IN AN INPATIENT DETOX. Dicyclomine 20 mg for stomach cramps. take 1 every 6 hours or as needed. Clonidine HCL. 0.1 mg. Take 1 tablet 4 times daily. Now every person that is going through this wants to just beable to sleep.1/2 of 300mg seroquel. Thats all you need. 80% of your symptoms will be gone. It's not over though. You need suboxone.
Avatar m tn If you are seriously considering Suboxone therapy, find a reputable psychiatrist who is an addiction specialist. If you are serious about quitting, you'll do what they require: usually 12 step meetings or an aftercare group at LEAST weekly, random drug screens, and monthly appointments for your next month's supply. Get it legally, and do it right. Sobriety is about being responsible for our actions, and that means taking responsiblity for your life AFTER detox......RECOVERY!
610505 tn?1329603723 Short term is definitely the way to go with suboxone and Ive heard many positive things from short term (for detox only) suboxone users. The least amount for the least amount of time to avoid getting hooked on suboxone.
Avatar m tn 30 is too high from what I've read and seen. 20 is the minimum dose to switch and that's pushing it. Done right methadone can be not too difficult to get off, but it takes a LONG TIME (I know, I did it :-) ) But I'm hearing a lot of suboxone horror stories lately.

6050497 tn?1378857828 Oh and don't let them put you on suboxone .
Avatar n tn If you take suboxone to get off perks, how long does it take get off Suboxone
Avatar f tn In my experience it takes about 5-7 days. Why do you ask? Are you wondering when opiates will again start getting you high?
