951587 tn?1249227148 2 mgs made me high..i was also a lortab user..how much lertab did he take each day?
Avatar f tn But if he goes a few days without the suboxone he could get that high if he took an oxy. So if I were you and you decide to go with suboxone I would monitor his intake. Sit there with him while he lets it dissolve under his tongue. Suboxone is an opiate itself but has less abuse potential but it can be abused so this would be another reason to monitor his use. Many people say sub should only be used as a last resort after trying multiple times to get clean.
Avatar m tn Are you on a high dose of suboxone or too little? Have you talked to your doctor? Hope it gets better for you.
Avatar n tn t get high on Suboxone but you can get high on Subutex. I think your friend may be getting Subutex, especially if your tried a peice and got high. Were you in withdrawels when you tried it? If not, it would have made you sick. And if your friend is taking the Sub. like hes supose to, he should not be able to get high on other drugs. Subutex can be broken down and shot to get high, which is why most doctors will give Suboxone.
Avatar n tn Do you think you may have taken the meth to get high? or just to see if it works better than suboxone? Also, be sure your doc supervised this .....they do not like people taking other drugs when you are on a detox program....could be really dangerous and you are lucky...
Avatar f tn Methadone is very hard withdrawal! Took me 5 months to fully feel normal. I am also now on Suboxone. It makes me feel normal. Anyone going through methadone withdrawal, I feel for you. It's a long process that is horrible. It does get better. Hang in there.
Avatar f tn he said he has never lived without a high. i really feel if he gets back on his suboxone he will be good. he was doing great until he quit taking them.
Avatar f tn Hi Carrie, I am on sub and have been for a year and a half. I DO recommend suboxone for people that take high doses of opiates, but only do it for a short period of time. DON'T stay on it for long, probably a month would be good. Of course your brain needs time to heal, but with prenatal vitamins and the baby, you have 9 months (as long as you don't relapse) for your brain to heal.
445698 tn?1208618507 It has never made me feel high. Some people say it make them high when they start. but it will not last. I have never been on more than 50mgs. I am trying to get off it. For me it is harder w/d on meth than the pain pills.
Avatar m tn while you take suboxone u basically wouldnt feel the effects of opiates in short you dont get high. suboxone doesnt get you high but at a high dose you can experience methodone effects being for me not high just about to crash nodding...like I havent slept for 3 days. this is the best why I can explain suboxone. I think it can be a life savor. infact I think I need a little higher dose today cause of my cravings.
Avatar n tn I took it and comming off it was just as bad. It can be abused and it gets you high. Theres no unpainful way off opiates. There is a price that HAS to be paid. Ive looked for opiate blockers all of it because I wanted out but didnt want the pain. I wish I could tell you different. Its been 6 days clean for me. The last amount of oxys I took was 60mg. Thats alot to try and come off of. I wanted to ween but monday was comming and monday I was quiting so I had to pay the price.
4790101 tn?1359223637 You can't tell how high suboxone gets you until you are clean from everything for awhile. As little as 4mg block as much as 80% of the emotional center in the brain, just be careful. If you must use it, don't use it longer than a week or so. Buprenorphine is a lot stronger than codeine and extremely physically addictive. It takes 21 days for your last dose of sub to leave your body. If you do get addicted to it, it will be a lot worse than codiene withdrawal.
Avatar f tn It doesnt really get me high, it just makes me feel normal and not sick. It is addictive tho. I have to be weened of b4 i stop takin it.
Avatar m tn I almost feel too good. It's scaring me a little. I keep thinking the axe is going to drop any minute. The last two nights I've taken a quarter tab of suboxone so that I'll sleep. Does anyone think that that small little sliver once a day has anything to do with how well I feel?
425840 tn?1204241353 I am up and doing things around the house instead. I feel great and no drugs at all! This Suboxone is a true miracle drug for me! Doctor said I will be off this in as little a two moths. Then I will be tapered form Suboxone and will never feel a single symptom at all ever! SWEET STUFF!!! Review...5 stars out of five! Talk to your Doctor and find a dispensing Doctor of Suboxone in your insurance area as fast as you can. End that addiction the say day you stop! What a JOY!!!!!!! Peace.
Avatar n tn Sub works by feeding an opiate into your opiate receptors to keep you out of withdrawal and at the same time it contains another ingredient which works to block any high you would feel off that opiate. My sub doctors had me carry an emergency medical card re suboxone and what to do in an emergency as normal treatment with opiate containing pain meds will not work. You can find lots of useful information concerning suboxone - the good, the bad and the ugly - on this site and on other sites.
Avatar m tn Ive had um before and they get ya high if you take enough or if ya snort it. Something tells me a doctor didnt get that person the suboxone so its not a clinical setting and done the right way. Dont get me wrong. If a doctors in charge of the subs and the dose thats a different story. NOt if ya get um from the dealer. People think you only can get um doctors!!! Just like oxys and roxi right?!!
3217943 tn?1345940990 It does not surprise me that you feel high. I would definitely talk to your sub doctor about adjusting your dose and consider tapering or cold turkey of the percs. You are on a relatively low dose of percs and the subs have a much worse detox. Read the suboxone/subutex FAQs at the bottom right of this page, so you have knowledge before speaking to your doctor.
Avatar f tn I tried stopping the suboxone 2 months ago..man it was bad. I did try to jump off at a high dose but the withdrawls were even worse then a CT detox from pills.!! The only reason these pain clinics prescripe you this long term is because either they don't know better..or they want your 150 bucks every month.. I'm sure a combination of the two...
Avatar f tn Today is day 11 for me off Norco....with the help of Suboxone. I started suboxone not know if I was fully(physically and mentally) addicted to my pain meds. I hurt my shoulder 2 years ago at work and was prescribed norco for my pain. About a year ago I started using it every day and the last 6 months I was downing around 10-15 pills 5/325. I work as a barista and most days I'm up around 3:30 so I would already have downed 4 by 6 am. Anyways, in the last 11 days I have felt great!
Avatar f tn The benefit of it having a ceiling is to prevent abuse as once someone no longer gets a high from the ceiling effect, a high can no longer be obtained.
951587 tn?1249227148 You do not get the same kind of high, nor do you chase that high. Suboxone is so potent that once per day is all it takes. I used suboxone. It definitely took me out of the addict lifestyle. It certainly took away all cravings and I did not get 'high' on it. However - at the end of the day I was 100% addicted to suboxone after being on it for 2 years. Not mentally - because I hated being on it, but physically addicted - yes.
Avatar f tn I will talk about buprenorphine, the active medication in Suboxone, just to simplify things a bit-- although Suboxone will have the same effects. First, when talking about the dose, it is important that the method one takes it is identified-- as that is what determines how much active drug ends up in the bloodstream.
Avatar f tn I finally went to an addiction psychologist who put me on suboxone.. I have been taking suboxone for a year now. i know that my doc is leading me on to get his money every moneth. I was the one who sugested taking less of gthe sub. I want to be free of it but he never mentions taking less. I am glad that I have ahd him to help me but i also know he is stringing me along so ne gets nis hundred a month from me. What should I do?
Avatar n tn Lots of times, if the headache is really bad, then your dose is too high. When I started suboxone at 24mgs, I was way too high (imo) and I was pretty sick for those first few weeks.. You should talk to your doctor about it and see what he suggests. Good luck.
