I'm physically depended on it and i wake up with teary eyes and the only thing to stop my teary eyes is taking the suboxone. My question is .. Is there any easy way to get off suboxone . I have read about rapid detox but I'm on medicade. I have detoxed nataurly once and scared to go through those symptoms again..
Avatar f tn i am a recovering opiate addict for over 11 years and then switched to herion for a yr suboxone is right for some people especially if its medication like vicodin or codeine the problem is with those lower opiates yes they suck to get off of but methadone will most likely get you higher then those low pain killers methadone is ment for more long term hardcore herion / oxycodone 30mg x 22 a day addicts so really alot more information is needed before you could ever decide what route to take metha
Avatar f tn I want to be methadone free. Can I detox off it by using suboxone? Without being sick.
Avatar m tn I could cut up the film in TINY strips, one little strip and i would be withdrawal free for a day or two, so the suboxone would last me a while, but when I had none I would go right back to feeling the symptoms. this week will be 4 months since i've taken a pill. i'm frustrated because i'm trying to do doing the right thing, no cravings to touch a Vicodin ever again, i've gone to counseling and i'm happy, but why am i still experiencing withdrawals?
214607 tn?1287677559 Just wanted to drop in and tell everyone that I am three days away from being opiate free. I am stopping the Suboxone on Sunday and plan on NOT ever putting anything with opiods in it, in my body, EVER again. My goodness, if I knew then, what I know now....lol.... Well, I don't ever want to go through this again. I am sure the battle isn't over and I will go through some minor w.d, But we shall see.
Avatar m tn I can only speak for suboxone users but I think methadone users have the same mentality. We use the drugs to help us get off of our drug of choice. Suboxone is an opiate blocker. Knowing I cannot get high off of opiates comforts me and takes a lot of the mental out of staying clean. I am unsure of the withdrawals from suboxone, but I am sure they are a lot less intense than opiates. Hope I helped.
Avatar f tn My doctor has kept me on Suboxone at 8 mg for 7 months and doesn't say anything about tapering down, she doesn't take insurance so it's self pay and its adding up!! She won't even give refills, can I start tapering down on my own??
Avatar n tn im a 23 yr old man wit a serious drug problem i just lost my job and my insurance got cancelled and i cant find any places for suboxone treatment for free does anyone know of any places that can help me please let me know if anybody knows of any places that can help
Avatar m tn I have been in treatment with Suboxone for over a year now, and I have had more success with learning to live life without active addiction this time, than any other time I have tried in the past. That is because I am working with a treatment facility who confronts me anytime I start to alter my clean life, addiction is a life long journey, and there is no quick way to end it.You are never cured, but you can put your addiction in remission and go on to live a drug free life.
Avatar n tn Has anyone else here gone on the suboxone for chronic pain relief. This is what my doc is using it for on me-I see most of you are on it for detox....I was wanting of fthe dilaudud as I was afraid of becoming addicted.(And was constipated all the time so he put me on naltrexone for the chronic constipation I was on.Ended up in hospital 4-6x for this.,the naltrexone worked great to help me go also using the miralax as added supplement.
179856 tn?1333547362 For someone like me who has been on suboxone for the last six or seven years.......this is an amazing news article. Maybe I won't have to continue paying a shrink hundreds of dollars a month to prescribe the bupe for me and could actually get it from a PCP with my insurance. Boy that would be awesome I hope this helps somebody else out whose been drug free for many years but not 'really' drug free after all.
Avatar f tn ANY doc can prescribe Suboxone to treat chronic pain, for example. The problem is that many pharmacists (and docs) don’t understand this situation. It isn’t that it is too complicated—I blame doctors’ relative lack of interest in treating drug addicts for a lack of desire to learn about the medication and how to use it. Shame on us.
Avatar n tn I have been clean since march 20th. i have gotten help through suboxone for the 1st two weeks. still dont get much sleep and am very lethargic when will this end.

317787 tn?1473358451 I have my doubts about this but am hoping someone on here might have experience with this medication. Is suboxone used for pain management?
1797874 tn?1315677494 Hello! Sorry to hear that you lost your jobs. And both of them! :(...It depends on what kind of help you're looking for. If you want to detox on your own, then you can get alot of help right here - just post and give the details of your use and alot of people here who have been in your shoes can give you direction and support while you go through withdrawals.
5783082 tn?1374177161 d pop by and leave an update. I had been on opiates for about 10 years, suboxone for 5 of them. Sept. 16th, I celebrated 3 years clean and free! Just wanted to share that it is possible. It's hard as hell but so worth it. So for those who are just starting, or feeling stuck, keep at it. I PROMISE it is worth it! I sucked it up and went to AA and NA meetings, did the 12 steps with a sponsor, changed everything and fought like hell, and I still wanted to go back to the clinic sometimes.
Avatar m tn I have come to the conclusion I too want to rid myself of these medications.I have been on Wellbutrin 150mg 2 times a day , Suboxone since 2007 and Lyrica for about 2 years. This past Christmas made me realize that this is not a life but a prison.I ran out of both for 3 1/2 days and thought if anyway possible I would just die please the withdrawals wereso bad. My wife is fed up with it.She asked me to leave the house until I can get off this medicine.

Avatar n tn Hi, people w/ suboxone experience will be chiming in. Have you ever been completely opiate free? Is that your goal?
Avatar m tn The manufacturer of sub has a program two patients of each doctor can get sub for free. I'm sure you have to fill out some paperwork and have to qualify due to finances. You would still have to pay the doctor the monthly fee but I have heard it's the medication that's the expensive part. The only problem going this route is that you would have to call around and find a doctor that has at least one of the open positions for the free medication.
323051 tn?1206924683 I took Sub last year to get off vicodin and oxy. I took it for 10 days. I have been clean for 9 months. I would really advise seeing a doctor before starting treatment with it. Doing it yourself isn't safe. Oxys have a very long half life and you have to wait until you are at least in withdrawal to take Sub. 24-48 hours for the longer acting pills. On the right side of the forum is a section called Health pages. There is info on Sub in several articles. Two of them submitted by me.
