Suboxone for detox

Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone for detox

suboxone

Avatar n tn A detox from Suboxone dependence costs $5,000 because it takes four to five months, incorporating nine to ten different medications to successfully detox the patient from suboxone. The success rate for detox from Suboxone is much lower than with detox from other opiates because patients tend to give up hope as the withdrawal process is so long and drawn out. Most Suboxone studies follow post-detox patients for only a month and are often funded by the drug company that manufactures Suboxone.
5135507 tn?1367163227 I was on the same combo I couldn't even taper due to the w/d being so bad. I had to use suboxone to get off of them. I know there is a lot of different things that will help the w/d more tolerable. The only thing that I know that takes them away is suboxone. If you take suboxone then you have to taper of that its not comfortable but it's tolerable. The w/d are no where near as bad as the fentanyl patch. I was told the fentanyl patches is the 2nd hardest thing to w/d from.
Avatar n tn detox, add suboxone, and add an anti-depressant. (I personally have been taking Paxil for 20+ years for depression. Can't function without it, but no major side effects either) We're hoping for the best......
Avatar n tn Of course suboxone can be used for a short detox. I came off of 22.5 mgs of methadone in 15 days using suboxone. This was done in a medical detox facility where i stayed for 3 weeks total. When i walked out i was drug free and had already endured the worst of the withdrawals. There were still little niggles here and there but nothing too overwhelming. I have never read any literature where it states that suboxone is contraindicated for use in a short term detox. Just my two cents.
Avatar f tn Also I have been on opiates a total of 15yrs straight, the last two years have been Suboxone but most of that time was methadone. I went to rapid detox and when I came back I felt awesome for about two weeks, I was doing everything I wanted to do and then I started feeling the withdrawal from the methadone something fierce, it continually got worse each day and I made it six weeks and still felt like total death. No sleep and nothing but cringing when I moved from the air hitting my body.

Avatar f tn Knowing that I need help, my Mom spent several days researching Doctors and finally found a place to take me for help. The Doctor has put me on Suboxone 2MG for nine days, along with a few other medicines. I am 32 hours clean, with 13 of those hours being on the Suboxone. I can tell you now that I feel very little detoxing pains. I have no sweats, no cramps, not nothing. I do however have a very bad headache and no energy what so ever.
Avatar n tn I bet that doc thought he had a cash cow but I still have about 50 suboxone I never used. Just a thought but worked for me.
Avatar n tn I have been addicted to herion for years. About six months ago I started suboxone. It was a miracle drug for me. I felt like my old self. That being said, I screwed up and started hanging out with some old 'friends'. I started to use again. since that time, I have tried to get back on Sub. I waited 20 hours and thought I was ready but when I took the suboxone I went into rapid WD. I was stuck out of town and did not get home for about 10 hours. I thought that I was dying.
694704 tn?1227921721 IIMHO benzos shouldn't even be listed as aids in a taper for that exact reason. Just my opinion tho! You could ask your doctor for Clonodine. It's used for people with high blood pressue and is not addictive. Before suboxone came out that what they used to use for an opiate detox. It works great... I've used it sporadically throughout my taper and highly recommend it to anyone going thru opiate detox.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed suboxone for wd's from pain pills. I just didn't feel like I needed the suboxone anymore. I did have mild issues with stopping the films but the wd's were manageable. Just approach it like quitting anything else... Bite the bullet and move on with life. Make sure if your getting them from a dr you let them know you are tapering. If your not getting them from a dr do a smart at home taper yourself. Good luck and do this the smart way...
Avatar f tn t ready to stop the drugs and putting her on the suboxone will just be a way for her to get the drugs for free while still using street drugs.
Avatar n tn Has anyone been put on klonopin for detox - if so, what strengths, for how many days, until you were off of it for detox? Thank you.
Avatar m tn 30am for my first of many Suboxone treatments. I will do exactly as the Dr. says. I never want to be in this place again.

Avatar m tn Does anyone know if the rapid detox programs work for people who been using Fentanyl 100mcg for 10 plus years. I feel the Fentanyl patches our doing more harm then good. Now I'm having so many issues with the side effects. But the Cronic pain is still a big concern on what to take if I'm able to get off the fentanzl patches. And that's a big if.
Avatar m tn I was going to go to a suboxone dr on the 10th but I honestly feel like it would be trading one addiction for another. And well I deserve better and so does my family. I am not going to lie and say I don't want the pills at all. But I can honestly say the craving is not nearly as bad as it was last week or the month before. I look at my children and know they deserve me all of me. I guess I just need a outlet to talk about this as I go through it.
Avatar m tn Looking into a local clinic that specializes in Suboxone. Iam in great need of info and help, i need off these things any other ways out there?
Avatar m tn Five years ago, when Suboxone was first released, it was used mostly for 'quick detox'. Now it has been realized that most of those people simply kept using opiates, so most scripts are used for longer-term treatment. As for the method, different places did it differently; some would simply ask the person to come in after being in severe W/D, and give them a couple Suboxone to relieve their symptoms, then let the Suboxone slowly wear off.
Avatar f tn i want to print my replies out for him so he can make a wise decision....rapid detox sounds like a load of **** to me but thats just my opinion......thanks guys and as always love u all and god bless......
1548080 tn?1293869794 hi i detox by subuzone, how long before i could be addicted to it. i intend to quit opiate now. pls advice.
Avatar n tn Suboxone is a medication used to prevent withdrawal symptoms in drug addiction treatment and to prevent relapse. In chronic pain patients without a history of misuse/abuse/addiction - Suboxone can be used for a few days to manage withdrawal symptoms while stopping opiates- it is typically dosed very low in these situations because a typical chronic pain patient choosing to get off opiates does not need higher doses or be on the medication longer than a few days.
