Suboxone for depression

Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone for depression

suboxone

Avatar m tn s are different, but suboxone should NOT be given to someone for Anxiety or depression. I have heard of it used for lyme disease to stop the tingles but not for that. I'm sorry that doctor put you through that, you should consult with an Attorney.
Avatar m tn I think it has helped some peoples depression for others it has made there depression worse . Regardless at the moment it isnt being used as an anti depressent I would never encourage anyone buy it off the street and use it as one .
Avatar f tn There is no doctor on this board. suboxone is also used for depression but it doesn't seem to be doing you much good. I was on methadone for years and that seemed to be good for depression but it has serious drawbacks as well. SSRI anti-depresants helped me for a few years but they they turned on me like methadone. Now I'm clean and quit anti-dpressnats and it's tough at times but better than before.
Avatar f tn Were you prescribed Suboxone for depression? Or were you self-medicating. Sorry, I'm a little confused! (Subs aren't for depression;)) How are you doing? What's going on?
281612 tn?1190341022 Hi,for me it took about ten days to start feeling better and two weeks to feel normal again..congrats on taking your life back! Your almost there b vitamin helped me with energy and ltheanine helped with the depression and anxiouty let me know if i can help with anything else.
Avatar f tn m exhausted and I look absolutely awful! Can suboxone cause depression especially after being on it for this long. I do take cymbalta (60 mg) per day. Nothing seems to make me feel better. I'm also experiencing tremendous cravings for the opiates I haven't had since i started suboxone! I think I'm losing my mind. Anyone else go thru/going thru this??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Avatar m tn I have also been thru this that you are going thru and for me its wasn't the suboxone causing the depression its the coming off of it.
4592241 tn?1359813138 it seems like the doctors just keep giving me pills. I know there is no real cure for depression or addiction..but is it wrong to just stay on suboxone so I can live a some what normal life????? I really feel so lost and guilty for being this way.
Avatar f tn Knowing that I need help, my Mom spent several days researching Doctors and finally found a place to take me for help. The Doctor has put me on Suboxone 2MG for nine days, along with a few other medicines. I am 32 hours clean, with 13 of those hours being on the Suboxone. I can tell you now that I feel very little detoxing pains. I have no sweats, no cramps, not nothing. I do however have a very bad headache and no energy what so ever.
Avatar m tn Hey there! Looks to me like you are self medicating. That is a dangerous game that can become a lifelong one! Especially if you do have real depression that you are masking. You don't want to use suboxone for that, ok? There is nothing wrong with asking for an AD from your doctor. Just don't keep trying to kill depression with painkillers. It's not going to work in the long run!
Avatar f tn My priorites are all out of whack, my attitude is a rollercoaster and Im just so tired of feeling this way. Did anyone else have these kind of side effects while on suboxone (depression/memory loss/confusion/etc) ???? Is anyone else working on getting off of suboxone? how has it been?
Avatar m tn *** I took Suboxone for about a year and a half, I noticed it helped me a great deal with my level of depression. I stayed on the Suboxone for that reason. I have had shock treatment, every antidepressant made, and 20 yrs of therapy and seeing doctors once a month. Depression wouldnt get better. I now stay on a dose of 12mg a day for over a year now. I find the dose of 12mg a day, no longer helps my depression. I have to take larger doses to ease my depression at all.
Avatar m tn We were very hopeful to hear about the positive results experienced by others who have also found no relief from traditional treatments but have found great relief from low dosages of SUBOXONE for their depression and BPD. In my daughters case, however, she has experienced constant nausea, fatigue and lightheadedness.
Avatar m tn I dont know u so can u tell me? depression is the hardest part of wd and lasts way longer than the tummy probs etc...r u ready to go for this? to make it thru and physically u will feel better next week...much better...do u have all the balls in ur court like the supps and stuff?
1291865 tn?1272402147 i might break down and see a suboxone docto- not for suboxone , but for sleep meds or some direction. i know i need vitamins and amnio acids, bananas, water, exersice, more water.hot baths/showers/anti-inflammorty over the counter pills, weight lifting/water.......just how long did it take for my fellower withdrawalers out there to achevie equalibruim.one month ,2 months,a year ,my god my organs will shut down.
Avatar f tn My doctor has kept me on Suboxone at 8 mg for 7 months and doesn't say anything about tapering down, she doesn't take insurance so it's self pay and its adding up!! She won't even give refills, can I start tapering down on my own??
Avatar m tn Tapering is not easy....and depression is a major side effect for many during withdrawal...i started lexapro a couple of weeks before i quit then stopped it a few months afterwards...just as a safety net...i ended up stressing so bad trying to taper that i would actually take more than my usual dose..for real!...sad but true...i struggled with tapering for 6 months on my own and felt like a complete failure as a person by the time i handed them over to a friend who doled them out to me each day.
Avatar m tn This is just my opinion, I don't judge. I took Suboxone to get off hydrocodone. I believe both of these meds dont help depression. After getting off sub, I went back to pain meds, very ignorant of me because I felt better without these drugs. I have insomnia really bad and I take Xanax, not good for depression either. I take Percocet, for pain from shingles, 2 years I've had it. I want to wish you the best. You can beat this, I'm gonna beat it.
Avatar n tn I have been treatment resitant depression for 15years, suboxone has been my miracle life saver, as well as my mother who uses it ( wisely) after even her ECT never worked. i have been on 24 medications, only suboxone has saved my life. ( in never use opiates except once when i was desperate i dabbled for a few weeks) the only problem is that it seems to lose effect on me ( not my mother- perhaps cause she alternates between 2-4 mg a day) whereas i never go past 4 mg a day.
Avatar m tn I was on sub for 13 months started at 32mg and worked down to 2mg a day for 4 days and then stoped, im still having trouble sleeping other than that im doing real good. It will get gooder, and gooder ok Also i dont know what dose you were on that will make a diff.
Avatar m tn Ive been taking 24mg of suboxone and 1mg of clonopin 3× anday for 3months now. This will be the 3rd time ive been on suboxone. Before this time I was on methadone maintenance for around 4 years ,I was also taking alot of benzos and drinking heavily . Everything had turned to **** as usual .
Avatar m tn Is there anyone else out there that has experienced taking Tabs or Suboxone as a substitute for antidepressents? I think some research is warranted for certain people that have no response to antidepressents.
Avatar f tn hi,i hope he doesnt go back to anything! i think as you said , the suboxone hasnt helped in the case of him getting depression! i dont think it was a wise thing to use without proper professional care, especially buying it on the street, the best thing would be for him to go to a dr. and tell him/her about the depression, and get some proper help, i do feel for him, (and you), its such a crippling thing, i wish you the best!
Avatar f tn I have been on Suboxone for 3 years, just went to new doctor he put me from 4 8 mg a day to 3 mg per day. As well as 4 2mg xanax to 3 xanax per day and 2 30mg adderall per day. HOW AND THE HECK DO I WEEN MYSELF FROM THIS WITHOUT ACTUALLY NOT FREAKING OUT ON MY FAMILY,WORK, KIDS ETC.... ANY HELP SUGGESTIONS ARE MOST WELCOME...
Avatar f tn Hi martint1955, First, I want to welcome you to the PM (Pain Management) Forum and let you know that we are glad you found this Forum. We are all CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that help each other with our own expertise and experiences that we have developed through our own CP Issues. I'm sorry that you are having trouble finding a Doctor to prescribe what you think you need for your pain. From everything that I've read on the patch it is the very same medication that Suboxone is.
Avatar n tn Suboxone will not generally cause severe respiratory depression alone, but in combination with benzodiazepines like xanax, or with alcohol, there can be severe and potentially fatal respiratory depression-- particularly in a person with sleep apnea! He is on a dangerous combination, and engaging in dangerous behavior. He is also back in 'using' mode, which as you know too well destroys any chance for intimacy between the addict and other people.
Avatar f tn m brand new to this website and forum, but have been researching extensively online with regards to pain management and, in particular, Suboxone treatment for chronic pain. I have been suffering from chronic pain (daily) for over 4 years now, and have been taking opiates as prescribed. However, over the past two years, due to a few stress fractures and aggravated arthritis, I my pain has become so bad that I cannot seem to find relief and I refuse to continue upping my dose of Oxycontin.
