if you can maintain on the dose that is lowest, then that will be the best, as suboxone is addictive and a very strong medication. While suboxone is very useful and really does work, one must work with the lowest dosage possible. Keep trying with what you are prescribed. If it is too low, let your doctor work with you to get to the right dose. In the end you will be much better off. Keep posting, everyone is here to support you.

Can you tell me what milligram dosage suboxone he will prescribe for a 30 mg per day methadone user. Suboxone is very expensive & if I need more than 8mg per day I can't afford it in addition to the cost of the dr. visits.

Hi, I am taking Subutex. I used to take Suboxone but got switched over due to my pregnancy. I've been on it this time for a year and a half. I started at 16 mgs. and am down to 4 mgs. and am trying to get down from there. I am a little shocked at your dosage - may I ask why you've been on such a high dosage for so long? Was it a personal choice, or the choice of your doctor, hence the new doctor? I am not judging at all, just curious about your situation.

I ended up putting myself in the hospital in June of 2012 to be medically supervised while I went through the 24 period before taking suboxone. I was only on suboxone for about 30 days before I could not tolerate the pain and so back on the merry go round. Granted I am on a way lower dosage but already doing the count the hours and ending up short every month. I am changing doctors next month not due to pain meds but many issues I do not care for as to my health.

Today i started suboxone waited 7 hours in dr. office trying to get right dosage. I was taking 600mg of morphine daily for 4 years. I been off all opiods for 48+ hours and I feel like **** now and I feel that the suboxone not even working. I also feel that the dr. didn't dose me right. I taking 8mg of suboxone. Everyone swears by it I hate it. I want to feel better but if not in 3 days i feel I have to start back on my drug of choice or start methadone.

Has anyone been on suboxone and noticed it works better at lower doses, compared to the 12-16mg. target dosage for maintaince?? I was on 16mg. for about 10 days, and I just felt down, sluggish, depressed and so on. But I tapered my dosage from 16mg. a day down to 8 and it seems to work much better, I tapered down by 1mg a day, because some people do not realize that suboxone, even at 4mg. is a pretty high dosage because it is very potent. I have had three major back surgeries for which I was using strong opioids for two years. Started taking 16mg of Suboxone, Worked that down to 2mg and now I cut the tab in half for 1mg per day. Can a pharmacist custom make me even smaller doses so I can completely rid myself of taking this medication? Suboxone is very potent so a small does goes a long way, I need to find a way to take it is still smaller doses so I can stop taking it without getting sick. Any ideas?

The suboxone doctor would probably have given you a temporary increase in your suboxone dosage, in order to help with the (I assume) temporary dental pain. It sounds like your upset that you didn't get the vicodin filled. It's a good thing in the long run though, at least your not in trouble with your suboxone doctor.

Suboxone will utterly **** you up to begin with. But, the more you take it, the less you feel unless you up your dosage. But, it is addictive so don't let anyone tel any of you different. As for being on Suboxone & trying to get high on other drugs as well, you can not get high on any type of pain medication while on it but as for speed, nerve pills, basically anything else but pain medication, you can still get high.

When going to your suboxone subscriber, you need to tell them what your methadone dosage was and what your current symptoms are.

I believe the biggest concern right now is not sex drive , but how Suboxone can affect the baby or the pregnancy. I was clean from hydrocodone for 4 days and relapsed. I've been relapsing for the past 5 years. I can't stand that I was ever I introduced to hydrocodone! Suboxone dosages are no linear. In other words, the Suboxone dosage doesn't go up to a higher dosage as the DOC gets higher. Suboxone completely binds opiate receptors at 4mg or so, so dosages over that amount are given for other reasons. That being said, 4mg of Suboxone is equal to about 70-80mg of hydrocodone. So, the reason you're feeling this way is that you've been given a dose that relates to twice your daily dosage, all in one big dose.

Hi barney521, Welcome to the forum. Suboxone is a good medication and works great for some people. I took it for nearly 4 years and have been off if it for 11 months now. It was difficult to stop taking and while we cannot give specific dosage information for a taper plan, I will recommend that you do as avisg says and get down to the point where you are only taking a small crumb per day.

Heavy opiate user...i quit suboxone with kratom a while back and went straight to opiates atleast 300 bucks a day habit...i went to a rehab and they kept me in detox for 5 days but took them 3 days to give me subutex....i ended up leaving because they wouldnt help any longer with treatment boy o boy all i know is suboxone withdrawls are no joke...i been having the hott and colds ever sense i was put on it 4 days ago.

hi im on subs too and I dont think u need to swap to subutex just lower your dosage of suboxone I was having horrible headaches too and it was because I was on too high of a dose. Most ppl can take a half in the morning then a half in the evening that's what I do and im on 8mg/2mg strips.

Yes, Suboxone is for Heroin users for sure. I've been off Heroin for 2 years. Suboxone is a good way to become clean if done correctly. I would suggest going to a Sub doctor and get put on a program. Suboxone is to be used with the intentions to eventually become clean completely. Suboxone is just as bad as Heroin to get off of if abused. I know from experience.

ve called every treatment center in my area that treats opiod dependence with suboxone. When I say I need treatment for tramadol dependecy they tell me tramadol is not an opiate and they don't treat for it. I reallu need to find some help. I've been tapering off but I know I'm gonna need some extra help. Does anyone know if there is another route I can go to get suboxone?
