suboxone

I have taking both adderall(up to 80mgs at one time), xanax(up to 8 mgs), and my daily methacdone and I am fine, but that is not recovering fully. Yes i am prescribed all of them(crazy i know), but soe ppl react badly or are sensitive to any one of theses potent drugs and could react badly and die.
Hi Terri --- Don't know why the vomiting -- perhaps her dose is wrong. Dosing Sub is very tricky -- most doctors do not know how to do it. I started Sub after being in W/D's for 18 hours - only took 2 mg the first time but found that was enough to alleviate the W/D's so I stopped there and took that amount twice a day. Many doctors have their patients start with a very large dose -- not appreciating the strength of Sub. My take is that the lowest dose the better on Sub.
after I posted yesterday... my husband and I spent hours, and I mean hours, reading information on suboxone. We discussed what we'd read and came up, together, with a plan for my detoxing. After all he read, my husband admitted to me that he was concerned that I perhaps was not being totally honest about my taking the pain meds with him. He said he'd feel better if he was in control of my meds and was able to dispense them to me daily. For me, that wasn't any big deal.
Hi welcome to the forum....I was on methadone for almost 7yrs it is possible to taper off it took me 8 1/2 months to taper off.. as for the nodding off your dose is the problem so weening off will help that I am also Bi polar so I know what your going threw if you choose to go on sub you have to taper down to 20mg to do the switch tapering can be done the slower the better and if you decide to go on the sub you may just be traiddnig addictions keep posting for support.....
The high concentrates of opioid receptors and endorphins in limbic and hypothalamic regions, and their interaction with noradrenergic and dopaminergic systems, suggests involvement of endorphin systems in depression, as do certain clinical observations.
OK. So, all of your responses are wonderful. At the time I was majorly desperate to find a Doctor to help me. I didn't do background checks or anything when I was trying to get help. The only thing I was thinking about was getting off of the Vicodin. I don't want to make excuses for myself, or for the Doctor, but I do know a bit about what I'm taking. I know that initially he did over prescribe me. I have narrowed down what I take daily hugely.
(he said he was afraid to give me 60 -that I might gobble them up like last time- so he knows with such a small # of pills in my possession i will be forced to taper/take them sparingly, and to get through this acute stage of my current back attack ) He wants to see me in 2 weeks again, to see how my lungs are doing, and if the taper and xanax are gonna be my freedom finally. He did ask me if I wanted to try some Neurontin for pain next, and I declined.
I've been on many anti-depressants but get bad side effects so can i take valerian with the sub? I dont wanna go to xanax or anything like that, my dr offerd me xanax and i declined. he said a low mg when needed wouldnt hurt but i know i'll abuse. I just have no support system and I'd love to go to meetings but i'm an at home mom and we have 1 car and my usband works and goes to school at night. I'm home by myself w/ the kids 24/7. I feel like i'm losing it.
I do take xanax for my anxiety related issues, and it seems its the only thing that works, Ive been trying to keep it under 2mgs for over 1yr now, but when I do take 3mgs it seems it alleviate alot of my constant stress and worry. So I guess what Im wondering, is for those who have experience with adderall and do you think I could benefit from it, and I would also need to continue taking xanax while on it aswell. Is there any interaction between the two?
I have been on Benzos (xanax, klonopin, Valium) and Methadone for 9 years now and no adverse side effects! The doctors urge people to keep them apart because you can overdose if not careful. But, you can overdose on almost anything with Methadon and I have a bottle of tramadole here with 500 in it and it's just trash cause I know it can put you into withdrawals!
it's as safe as anything can really be w/ methadone..but if your in a clinic and have to drop a ua..than you will have that to deal with..Are you planning on getting off the methadone? good luck to you..

Buprenorphine is a vey potent partial agonist narcotic and is the active ingredient in Subutex and suboxone. The Butrans patch has been used for pain management in Europe for several years and was FDA approved in the US this year. I assume your doctor told you how to take the clonidine appropriately if you experience withdrawal. It's an old alpha blocker hypertension medication that helps symptoms by lowering the blood pressure that skyrockets in serious withdrawal.
it does seem to help and I haven't been taking my xanax while I am taking the valium.. I am just in so much pain that I have to do something here..Most of it is all on the left side..lower back and left hip..a very constant dull pain with the occasional sharp shooting pains.. thanks again everyone i appreciate all your advice and am going to write some of this down to discuss with my Dr..wish me luck..
Hi and Welcome Tramadol Warriors, Please come on in and make yourself comfy. All are welcome.
For habitual long time addicts, you may require a longer dosage period. For Heroin and Methadone users 2 weeks or more. The xanax and sleep aides can become addictive if abused. The best way to make sure you do not become addicted is to have your doctor only prescribe enough for 10 days. With no refills!! You know what they say, "if you don't got em', you can't take em'".
Morning Lovelies, Welcome to part 34! Please come on in and make yourself at home. It can be done!

Hi Tramadol Warriors, Welcome to Part 12! We're so happy to see you! Come on in and get comfy.
It is pure Buprenorphine, and they are afraid addicts will melt it down and inject it. suboxone has Naloxone in it so you cannot do that with it. The Naloxone really helps with the cravings I think. I often wonder why they didn't put Naloxone or Naltrexone in with oxys. It would have prevented a lot of deaths.

Hi ChicaBooms! Welcome to our new home!
(I'm on dexamphetamine 50mg over the day) I haven't been sleeping well for quite some time now (i was awake for over 40 hours a couple weeks back) so my doctor has given me a short course of Temazepam to try and get my sleeping patterns right again. My prescription is 20mg for about 5 days and drop it to 10mg (can't remember how long for :S but i know i only have 25 tablets and no repeats and also know that they should only be taken for about 2 weeks).
So glad you are choosing to join us. This is the place to be if you want off Tramadol. Lots of love, information and empathy here!
To me, and remember this is only my opinion, giving that sort of info out is enabling them to continue in their addiction, not to mention dangerous. I see this more and more with Methadone and suboxone. These are not meds to be messed with. We have to get real honest with ourselves and finally admit we are powerless and be willing to do whatever it takes to get and stay clean and part of it means stopping the drug seeking behavior..........
I went to my GP complaning of no sense of smell, saw a surgeon and surgery was recomended, I was given a prescription for Prednisone, a steroid, this gave me some sense of smell, and here's the but, I had the operation and still could not smell, so more Prednisone, well the upshot is that the steroids have caused my Osteo-Necrosis, this is when the heads of the long bones die, so have now had core decompression on one hip and the other totally replaced. Oxycontin.
