Suboxone and tylenol 3

Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone and tylenol 3

suboxone

Can anyone tell me the difference between tylenol 3 and hydrocodone, I understand the hydrocodone is a synthetic of codeine, but as far a strength of tylenol 3 vs one 5mg vicodin? What is the addiction factor, what is worse codeine or hydrocodone? Just curious..
I started suboxone Sunday after being on pain meds for three years (percs) due to a shoulder injury. The suboxone works great I started taking 3 a day 8mg and already only take two. The problem I have is that I still have alot of pain and my job is doing tree work so by the end of the day my shoulder is killing me. The reason why I started taking suboxone is to get my life back. Every week it was where am I going to get something? It gets old.
What is suboxone? Ive seen a ton of posts about people who love it, and people who hate it... Im just wondering what it is.
Days 3, 4 and 5 were the worst with the unexpected torture of inability to sleep (and I take 8 mg of Rozarem with 4 mg of Lunesta each night for insomnia and even with my sleep meds and 2 tylenol PMs, I still spent 3 days/nights awake in horror). Am able to sleep now. the restless leg syndrome has gone away now. i am left with hot/cold chills BS and an extremely crushing fatigue coupled with an extreme case of anxiety and nervousness, Ive NEVER had anxiety like this.
i been on 24mg of suboxone for 3wks now and it works great i have no desire to snort herion this is actually my 2nd time on bup.
Just dont make the same mistake I did, which is take it longer than 8 days. I took it for about 3 weeks and weened down from 8 mg to 4 mg then quit. I am on day 8 of w/d and it sucks. I think opiate withdrawl is almost better because it is shorter. I stopped at 4 mg, which was my problem. Find my post from 4 days ago you will understand the pain I was in. Sub sucks. Be careful, I didnt have a script, a friend gave them to me. Big Big Big mistake. My doc says expect 2 more weeks of hell.
two fold to break the cycle of railing oxy on an hourly basis and physically to adjust your body. She went on Subutex for 3 days and then Suboxone...... silly girl before she went into treatment she tried oxy one more time on the Sub and trust me I have seen her throw up from her toes from her oxy use, but the sub with oxy was beyond what most people ever know in terms of being sick.
The shortest time you are on it the better... Less than 3 weeks is the best. I did it for 10 days and only had some mild WD 3 days after I stopped the Sub.. mainly sweats and chills.. If you get off of it soon you should not suffer any more than i did.. I have been off pills for 72 days...
I am 2 weeks with out ocy but,i was taking other stuff to help me get threw a day today is day three with out anything just Tylenol 3 of them in am and 3 in pm it hasn t been easy at all i have no energy each day but i do alot of praying to get threw each day i been on them for 4 years never snorted them just eat them like candy i didn t do it for the high just to get threw the day as i have chrons.
I didn't get a buzz on the percs other than pain relief, So it was back on with my life and suboxone. As I said suboxone is only a partial opioid antagonist.
I am down to 4-6 mg a day. My question is, if I were to take tylenol 3 with codiene in it, would I get sick? What would happen if I took painkillers while on suboxone?
I just started day four of cold turkey from the same exact dosage!!!! Its not as bad as you think to just go cold turkey. Its not fun bit its no going to kill you. Just think to your self " Im going to get the flu tomorow" and follow the Thomas recipe and be prepared and you will be fine. today or tomorrow i am going to do an hour by hour accounting of my experience maybe it will help you?
Im not positive that your automatically red flagged with sub, but most offices are linked up by computers now or a new doctor will need your medial charts from your old doctor and if they look them over and see suboxone they will probably put two and two together. Now if you got into some bad accident where you absolutely needed something for pain, your still going to get somethiing, they would just be much more careful about how much and how long you would be able to use, which is a Good thing.
maybe some tylenol for the body aches. and lots of fluids. depression will probably hang around a bit longer. i myself talked to my doctor and he put me on an antidepressant. i cant really tell if it has helped yet. but i have only been on it for 4 weeks. so i am hoping it will kick in soon. good luck to you and you will start feeling better.
He started me on 8 mgs a day 2 (4mg) n am and 2(4 mg) in pm and then after a few days only one (2mg) per day and then one(2mg) every other day. I know it was only tylenol 3 but the fact that I let all those good days kind of go to waste and its like starting all over. The weird thing I really did not get any type of relief from it. I keep a bttle of hydros in my car just to remind me and try and see how strong i am but after that I think I need to trash.
but sub is expensive (typically about 5-8 dollars a piece), not many insurances cover it, and it is very powerful much more so than tylenol 3 or hydrocodone. ultimately the decision is yours. just please read some of the suboxone posts here and do A LOT of research first.... good luck and please dont take my words the wrong way- i know how difficult this is and by no means am i saying otherwise or insuting.... good luck and i hope you look into other routes. -Mason.
Thanks to all of you for your continued support in this process. I wish anyone who wanted it could use the suboxone and get off their drug of choice and have such an easy time (after the 2 days of awful withdrawals) I will continue to be here to give and get support from all of you wonderful folks.
from physical pain anyway, but these headaches have about got me there. I don't want to take 1000mg of Advil/Tylenol or whatever and certainly don't want to get Rxed and opiates seeing how I'm trying to get off suboxone. So my question is is the sub thatis giving me these headaches? I've gotten them before the bike wreck but they weren't this sever.
usually they start you on subutex for the induction period for 3 days and then switch to suboxone which contains naloxone an opiate antagonist. This is there so people dont try and shoot the stuff. If they did they would go into instant withdrawals. Take some Motrin like 400mg for the head ache the nausea will pass, call sub help line if you have more questions. www.suboxone.com or 1-877-782-6966 8-8pm EST.
It may not have seemed long to you, but 14 weeks can be a long time with Suboxone and the withdrawal is difficult. Everyone is different. What else have you tried to ease the discomfort such as otc medications or anything?
If anyone knows what kind of withdrawels that i may have after i have been tapering for 3 months already, please let me know. God bless all of you and thank you for reading this.
#2 look on the health pages (top right of screen) - go to the Amino Acid Protocol and get to GNC and get some of the suggested vitamins. #3 get Immodium, Advil, Benadryl and/or Tylenol PM, Gatorade. #4 Learn to like the bottom of your bathtub.. I spent hours each sitting in the tub with the shower on. It was the best most peaceful and comforting place. Hot showers reaally help. And last, just get some patience.
I weaned off the fentanyl but couldn't get off the norco so decided to go the Subox route.I weaned off that in 3 months and took my last 2mg pill last thurs. I have been taking muscle relaxers to help with WDs.I also have been taking sleeping pills but I haven't slept now for 5 nights. Is this normal?I am also so weak like everyone says. And dizzy.I fell really hard on the coffee table last night.Maybe the muscle relaxers are not the best thing for me.I'm probably taking more than I should.
To begin with about 6 months ago i was having lots of pain in my knee, hands and back from arthritis. Tylenol didn't help and i am unable to take ibrprophen because of stomach surgery i had 4 years ago. So, over the past 6 mos. i have started taking more and more. I told my Dr. exactly what was going on, she recommended tapering down and getting off of them that way. That didn't work for me. I called another Dr. in town who she did mention to me also. He is able to dispense suboxone.
But I got addicted to lortabs, then roxicodone, and oxycontin. I was treated for 9 months on suboxone. Starting a 8mg dose for 6 months and 4 then 2 then 1 mg the last 3. Two days ago I took my last 1mg I had left. The withdrawl isn't near as bad as it was when I ran out when I was taking 8mg...or when I didn't have opiates...but its still there.
you need to taper off and finish. I was using 80-100mg/day oxy and took Subox for 3 days and done. I would say once your on Subox for 7-10 days, start tapering and see how you feel. A doctor may keep you on this for months because he makes big bucks from your weekly visits. BUT ONLY YOU KNOW HOW YOU FEEL! AFTER 10 DAYS ON SUBOX YOU ARE OVER ANY OPIATE WITHDRAWEL ISSUES. Then its easy to stop Subox. You will still have some issues like trouble sleeping, but they can be dealt with.
the first thing i would do if i was you was stop the ritalin, that may be making a mess of your mind, your taking 3 different drugs and all 3 of them are sending your brain in different directions...my husband and i used to buy ritalin when we couldnt get our drug of choice...hubby had a nervous breakdown because of going from one extreme to the other first your way up, then your down in the dumps...
I just got a prescription filled for Suboxone and am wondering how much I have to be in withdrawals to begin taking Suboxone. I've read that if you are taking under 30mgs of Methandone, you can start Suboxone immediately but have also read that you must be in full withdrawals to begin. If I start the Suboxone now, what will happen? Will I be in worse withdrawals than if I just wait and take in a couple of days? I'm wondering which w/d's will be worse (Methadone or starting Suboxone).
I had a heart attack in 2009 and the suboxone helped me gain about 25 lbs and edema in my ankles and other places. Plus I started having dull ache occurrences in my chest that scared the hell out of me. When I stopped taking Suboxone I lost weight and my edema left, plus no more dull aches in my chest. I am trying, but if I had a 2mg film right now, I would take it. I am a ex-marine, I feel I wouldn't do so well in a prisoner of war camp, because I am so willing to submit.
