Suboxone and tylenol

Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone and tylenol

suboxone

Avatar n tn i had ankle reconstruction surgery and have been prescribed Tylenol 4. i was on 2 mgs of suboxone . is it possible to take both?
Avatar f tn As for the headaches they are terrible when you first start, then they will subside, but I still get them occasionally. Usually about three tylenol and a cup of coffee helps. I know this drug well, I'm a 7 year pain pill addict and it's a hell of a battle even with sub, but it's doable. Feel free to ask me anything you need to know.
1429136 tn?1287209602 I am a 68 yr old woman on Suboxone, 3 huge cavities and in pain. I understand that I must wait 3 days with no subs to face possible extraction. Will novocaine work? Will painkillers work? What can I do to relieve the pain now? Tried ambesol. help!! in pain.
Avatar m tn i made it six days and man i thought i was going to die......i had to go to the dr and get back on suboxone........god i didnt want too...but i couldnt take itno more........even the pharmacist was amazed on how the drug reacted to me when i stopped....i was on a low doze too....so i search every night trying to find out how to get off of suboxone..........so when you hear ppl say "your leaving a illegal drug for a legal drug" that is sooooo true......
1054484 tn?1255113567 What is suboxone? Ive seen a ton of posts about people who love it, and people who hate it... Im just wondering what it is.
1974178 tn?1325990502 I am coming off of Suboxone and I have heard some stories about wd.. So I went to the Doctor and got a bottle of ex Vics. I have been taking 2 at a time. I took 2 and forgot then took 2more.. Is that to much Tylenol ?
Avatar f tn You can take tylenol or motrin and the effects are better due to the narcotic in the suboxone. I tried this the other day for a headache and I was amazed. I felt better all over. All my little aches and pains were gone along with the headache. The doctor told me this would happend and he was right.
Avatar m tn I would love to know how to get off of them! I have been addicted for 2 years now and now take 8 a day! I would rather take tylenol ONLY for my back pain because I can't live without the lortabs anymore! I have three kids and just want to be NORMAL again! any advice on how to get off?
Avatar n tn so it would be a waste like mentioned to take darvacet while on sub cept for the tylenol effect perhaps...
Avatar n tn OC is right ...
Avatar f tn I was unwilling to use pain medication for any length of time due to fear so my dr. Prescribed suboxone that its perfect for people like me and that although there was narcotics in it i would feel nothing. Sounded perfect to me. A week later i looked it up and was horrified when i saw my dr. To discuss he asked me not to read the internet that the medication was perfect and if i continued reading internet i would only bring alot of fear to my head....
Avatar f tn Hi mellie. I've researched a lot on suboxone and was on suboxone maintenance for almost three years. I will try to answer what I can from my knowledge. Suboxone is only prescribed to treat opiate addiction. Suboxone is made up of buprenorphine and naloxone.
Avatar f tn Yeah I usually take motrin or tylenol and it does the trick but I wrenched my neck real good the other day at work and that was that. Thanks for the quick answer. :) The suboxone is one amazing med. saved me and looks like ALOT of people.
Avatar n tn Like Sandee1818 said once you get on Suboxone and take narcotic pain meds. they will not work Suboxone also has a 37hour half life. If i were you i would taper off the Hydro slowly. I dont know to much about Fentanyl but read it's hard to kick and very nasty whithdrawls. I guess what i'm saying is the same thing happend to me. The pain doc. just did not think the narcotic painmeds. are doing anything for my pain. Im currently on Vicoprofen 7.
Avatar m tn It comes without the euphoria and respritory depression that full agonist opiates have but suboxone is still highly addictive. It can be very hard to stop using it. Getting off can be nearly impossible if not done properly. You also have some other medical conditions that may respond well to suboxone now but in a negative way later, like anxiety and depression. If you decide at some point that suboxone is no longer a benefit to you, you're facing a tough task getting off of it.
Avatar m tn For example, if I took Tylenol w/ codeine for a week to get thru the acute WD from suboxone. Would the receptors in my brain knock off the suboxone and replace it with the codeine, and leave me with more WD after that? Just want a dr's opinion.
745442 tn?1244841925 IMO the headache is not withdrawal its the suboxone. 2 advil and 1 tylenol sinus worked well for me (if you are able to take that stuff)...Sub headaches su*ck. My sub doctor said its very common though and listed as a side effect.. Good luck in your journey and its great you are taking steps toward being drug free.
Avatar f tn Long story short. I rapid detoxed off of oxycontin and percocet in Dec. 09. I had been on it for back surgery and couldn't get off of it. When I came home I was still in detox and wound up on clonidine and neurontin. Well, I couldn't take the neurontin. After quitting the neurontin in late January I still had major back pain. First my doc put me on tramadol, which I only took a couple of, after reading what it could be like getting off of from others on this site.
Avatar n tn I was also put on suboxone but from oxycodone use instead, suboxone is no better or worse that oxycodone or heroin or morphine, the withdrawals are just as bad, I went 5 days without and suboxone after taking one 8mg a day and those 5 days were hell and I'm still sick, I've tried vitamins, orange juice, hot showers ,Tylenol, ibuprofien ,exercise, sleeping pills, sitting in a corner rocking back and forth, anything and everything I can think of and what others have suggested in other foru
Avatar f tn you. Suboxone is a tool to help people solidify their recovery, but you have to save yourself, and be willing to do the work to stay clean. There's alot of posts on this website about Suboxone as well as going ct off oxys. Theres more people around that will have vitamins, etc. to suggest that help. Stay strong it gets worse before it gets better - but it does get better!
591616 tn?1225458448 i was on suboxone for a very severe opiate addiction to heroin and oxycontin, and then any other opiate i could find to help the wd;s when those were unavailable, for 8months. i was able to stay clean the whole time and it worked great. i was on the highest dose, suboxone's main chemical buprenorphine has a ceiling effect meaning that after 32 mgs it actually has a negative effect, the higher you go youll actually experience withdrawals.
556614 tn?1215836431 And when I first started abusing Vicodin it was besause it made me the mother I always wanted to be. I had unlimited energy, Fun, crafty, and silly. I have been on Suboxone for 3 days now. And realized that I was always a great mom. Ladies we have the power to laugh, cry, and heal. We are strong and beautiful. We just have to believe in ourself.
Avatar f tn Shell, I am really suprised to here that a doctor is willing to give you Suboxone for Tramadol addiction. That is like using methadone to get off tylenol 3s. That is just really odd. Do you take any other opiates...vicodin, or oxy or something?
Avatar n tn I was also addicted to pain killers and started taking methadone to get off em. Once u start takin it, it is soooooooooo hard to get off of it!!! I would recommend taking Suboxone instead to get off percs. It's safer and easier to get off of. I mean, methadone does work but it makes u tired, sweatty and it makes u gain wieght. I have a few friends who went on Suboxone and none of that happened. They all say it works too! Good Luck 2 U!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
397118 tn?1219762250 Hi everyone I have a question I'm on suboxone and I get to my sisters house I have a really bad headache and she dosn't have any regular tylenol so I took 2 tylenol pm and I feel sleepy a little weird the headache is not from sub cause I'm not taking a lot but I was wondering if you can get like that from tylenol pm? Thanks for ansewing.
Avatar f tn Im not positive that your automatically red flagged with sub, but most offices are linked up by computers now or a new doctor will need your medial charts from your old doctor and if they look them over and see suboxone they will probably put two and two together. Now if you got into some bad accident where you absolutely needed something for pain, your still going to get somethiing, they would just be much more careful about how much and how long you would be able to use, which is a Good thing.
Avatar n tn maybe some tylenol for the body aches. and lots of fluids. depression will probably hang around a bit longer. i myself talked to my doctor and he put me on an antidepressant. i cant really tell if it has helped yet. but i have only been on it for 4 weeks. so i am hoping it will kick in soon. good luck to you and you will start feeling better.
1109246 tn?1268192801 I wanted to post this for everyone thinking about using suboxone to recover. I was a vicodin/percocet user for going on 9 years. I had tried tapering, and wasn't successful, just couldn't stick to it. I tried cold turkey probably over 50 times if not more to no avail. I would get to day 3 or 4 and give up. The physical and mental withdrawals were just to much for me to bear and continue to handle my daily responsibilities. I contemplated suboxone for the last few months.
