Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone and soma

suboxone

I am at the point where i do not feel normal unless I have my daily dose, that cant be right, I need to feel normal, normally, cant spell worth ****, but you do it the point. I just want to lay down and die.........suboxone would work wonders for sure, if I could afford it, but not sure if I can. Will see. just wanted to vent, help keep my fingers and mouth from going to my stash.............
I am looking for anyone who has had a family member die because of overdose of xanax. My loved one was trying to kick soma and went to the doc for something to "get him through" this period. He was prescribed xanax and I don't think he was educated as to the powerfulness of the drug. He took one xanax, did not feel any effects from it, took two more!! This stopped his heart and he passed away.
Do you have to quit the soma for 12 to 24 hours before taking suboxone, like you do with lortab's? I took about 6 to 8 soma yesterday to help with my mental w/d's from lortab, I had 2.5 of lortab left for the day and I go in to see a dr. about suboxone today, I was told I didn't have to be in w/d's for the initial appt, but I do have to be in it for the subox. so I figure since I took my last lortab around 6pm yesterday I should be good to go with the subox around 6pm tonight?
No it's not a benzo and it's bad news. A true benzo may help you with narcotic W.D.
I will say I know some of it was rebound pain I am sure from the vic and soma habit. When I sit and think about it, I will be giving up a lot and to start a vigil of doctors again for pain relief will surely put my husband over the edge and head me down a road to single life. Life is difficult enough and then we add what we want and need makes it worse. Oh well I will live with it or die with it.
See if your doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep and Klonopin which will be helpful for sleeplessness and anxiety. It will make your withdrawals easier. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter. The residual symptoms of insomnia and depression can last another few months.

Can someone tell me if they will be bad I been on in for about 2 months now taking it around the clock.
What is suboxone? Ive seen a ton of posts about people who love it, and people who hate it... Im just wondering what it is.
and thank you for the info about soma i was googling suboxone and soma..debating wether or not to take it..
But, I am scared and I am in so much pain. I just want to stop the suboxone and take a few perc's. That ought to do it. If anyone has been on, or is on, Subox, please let me know how it goes from here. I don't know what to expect. Thanks in advance.
I couldnt agree with Kleen and hopsing any more strongly. I have used soma and I have lost friends that abused them. The line between high and die is just too close. My back is also trashed from a hard life (parachute crashes, car wrecks, and boat accident) but I am looking at non pill ways to deal with it. There are some out there. You can stop the soma and I feel that you should.
I would consult your doctor and see what he/she can offer for help. Some folks have had good results with suboxone (search in here for it) which can only be prescribed by MDs certified to prescribe it. In the meantime, try tapering off if you can, reducing your intake. There's a lot of support in here, I'm inspired by all that I read. I'm just scared *less by the prospect of withdrawls. But, I never want to take another one of these if I can ever get off them. NEVER. sorry to ramble.
I already had him off of vicadin and soma for seven days. So I didn't want to add the suboxone unless his symptoms became unbearable. He came off quick and hit the wall a few times at work . We decided to go without suboxone. The new doctor wants him on a low anxiety med. I say excercise no more nothing! His kidneys started showing damage from the soma. now have him off everything it took about a month and he started ninety days of AA and narcanon.
I have decided to go ct from a heavy and long use of norco and soma. 25 norco(hydro10/325mg) and 15 soma 350mg. a day for many years. I have tried the thomas recipe with no avail. I have tried to taper with no avail. I do have some items on hand that I may be able to use for this tough detox, but I need some advice. Keep in mind that I want to this in order to save my life. My toughest is my my first couple of days, in past experience.
I started taking them for herniated dics in L4-L5. I now am abusing them. I am taking up to 25 norco 10/325 and 15 soma 350 a day. I have taken them for so long that I have esophgus and stomach problems. I have gotten no help from doctors, when being open with them. I often think that I want to end my life, but do not want to put my family through anymore then they already been through. I have lost 3 brothers in the past 10 years and my mother had a stroke on 4/23/07.
My doctor put me on suboxone. I know there are alot of pros and cons about suboxone, but to me, it saved my life. I've been on it since April and plan to be off of it very soon. My doctor has me on a tapering plan. Why don't you do a little research and see if you can find a doctor in your area who can help you. and, maybe think about telling your husband. You need to have somebody you can turn to for support, if not him, maybe a close friend?
I am new to this site, I am curious how long an ambien stays in your system, and if it shows up as benzos. The same about a soma, how long and does it show up as benzos. One of them did.
I thank God I didn't take 4 a day like he wanted me to of soma and Lortab. As far as Valium and anti-depressants, once you get on anti-depressants you are on them for life. If you stop they can cause siezures and even death. I know Valium is bad but these Generic ones are nothing like the name brand ones. The name brand I can tell I took something, the Generic are so watered down I can hardly feel them. I think the soma is going to be a challenge, I will return to not being able to sleep.
A family member of mine assisted his detox with clonodine (he is almost 5 months clean) and I am starting suboxone in a week. I am just curious as to whether or not you have had a Dr advise you on any of this. Hang in there. Some days are much harder than others.
Our 25 yr old daughter had multiple knee surgeries and became addicted to Vicodine and soma. Started suboxone almost a week ago. Could keep nothing down and vomitted all day for day and a half before doc prescribed anti nuesea med. Developed high fever 102 - 104 for a few days after and hallucinations. Doc who prescribed now won't see her anymore! Took her to ER last night to medically check fever.
I had a 26 yr habit of drugs of one sort or another, the past 7 or 8 yrs it was vicodin and soma.25 or so of each a day. I really hope you find that doc in your area, keep my updated.

It will make your withdrawals easier. Clonidine will help stabilize your blood pressure and help with the creepy-crawly feeling that you are having. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter.
its been 2 days on That dose, tday im gonna try not to take it. My Doc prescribed me some 350mg soma for the pain and lunesta for sleep. Im going to try taking soma if the pain becomes unbearable, any advice pls?
I've been on suboxone a lil over 2years. I was addicted to Laura tabs and opanas for about a year and a half. I wanted to try and get clean but the withdrawals was too much seeing I worked 40+ hours around the clock so my buddy hooked me up with a couple of subs saying they would help me get off opiates which they did but I slowly started to get addicted to the suboxone. Next thing I know I'm buying them every week off the street.
It may not have seemed long to you, but 14 weeks can be a long time with suboxone and the withdrawal is difficult. Everyone is different. What else have you tried to ease the discomfort such as otc medications or anything?
Does anyone know how soma Metabolizes? I am now 4 months clean...well I think clean but I am on suboxone....everyone has their opinions but I think thats clean. So just wondering....my husband got switched from xanax to soma today. We are trying to figure out how it metabolze? Does it metabolize into nothing? Does it as a narcotic? As a benzo? Me or my husband have never heard of it and of course when he goes to the doc he doesn't ask...Thank you! If life gives you lemons make lemonade!
I am so glad you are doing so well, since suboxone is an opiate and is extremely addictive. People find it just as difficult to taper and quit. One of the patients in our clinic, who we had to detox from suboxone, was so addicted, that no matter how far down she titrated this drug she could not get off. At one point she was literally just licking the 1 mg strip, but she could not give it up.
