Suboxone and low blood pressure

Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone and low blood pressure

suboxone

It involves a week's supply of clonidine (for high blood pressure, heart rate, and sweats), Valium (for anxiety, restless legs, and insomnia) and loperamide (for diarrhea) - with this you will be able to detox with a minimum of discomfort. But, MARK MY WORDS, you WILL be using again within the year.
vitamins, rest, books or tv, get outta the hse, I wante to never leave, but when i made myself i felt better. Clonidine was a life saver also. It a blood pressure med, it helps the hot/.cold, restlesslegs, and actually with sleep. Sib wd was bout a month, but i had already qut my job to move to another state, so i had nothing to do. If u have children or must work. Taper to .25mg, go from 1mg to .5mg- it is gonna be uncomfortable-- gotta expect. that.
ask eeryone u can..learn about any med u take be it a blood pressure med or a pain med...in this day and age there is very little reason to be uneducated about a drug u take..especially if u have a computer...there is the pharmacist u pick up from as well who know lots...just goota ask..and learn and yes it is possible to get a buzz "jump" off of sub..especially if u r a low quantiry user..i have seen people on 40 mg of lortab a day go on sub..almost for sure they felt a buzz..
I had low blood pressure issues more than once during my first 90 days. It was REALLY low for 2 weeks , like 82/58, 97/70, 74/54 even...scared me. I called the dr. Was told drink LOTS of water because being dehydrated can CAUSE low b/p. Also, since it was hanging so low for over 2 wks, I DID go to the dr and was checked out. I was ok.
i told him i already have low blood pressure and he still gave it to me and didn,t even check my blood pressur ....
20-25 per day can easily cause permanent liver damage and a simple blood test can determine if and how much damage has occurred. Taking 50 tylenol at once can kill the liver (which is what kills someone who commits suicide by tylenol overdose). You can imagine that taking 50 over two days also does damage. Suboxone is a very different opiate known as an agonist/antagonist which acts on the same opiate receptors in the brain but blocks euphoria while preventing withdrawal symptoms.
If you talk to your doctor and tell them you may also get prescription meds to help with the w/d symptoms such as clonidine (blood pressure med for "flu-like" symptoms), a muscle relaxer, or other things. I would tell your doc what you want to do - but please research and read other people's experiences so you dont end up being miserable. I've heard people tapering for months to get down below 1mg before jumping off...
Clonidine will help stabilize your blood pressure and help with the creepy-crawly feeling that you are having. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter. The residual symptoms of insomnia and depression can last another few months. Thus, it is not easy, but it gets better and better over time and you can look forward to a drug free healthy energetic you in the future.
I felt like someone had spun me around and around with my eyes closed and made me walk. What I do take now is Visteril and Inderal. They are blood pressure meds also but they do what mr's do too by calming you and getting you through the twitching and not sleeping. It really is normal to go without sleep like this when you are coming off of opiates and it's the one of the worst things to deal with. Did you have insomnia when you went off of the norco? What are you taking for sleep?
nausea and vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, perspiration, itchiness, dry mouth, low blood pressure, decreased libido and urinary retention. You do not have to be an addict. You do not have to be branded one either. We make people clean and keep them clean without the use of other opiates all the time. Just look at our website www.MDSDrugDetox.com. Read my blogs by clicking on my name, then blogs. I talk a lot about options available. 2. Anxiety is your other over whelming issue.
I have been clean since Dec, and went through it cold turkey, and wish I had known more about it then, but my friend is about to go through w/d and is looking into suboxone, and I'm just worried because she, more than anyone I've ever met on these forums, is OBSESSED with the euphoria feeling, and I'm scared she'll be trading from one addiction to another. And when I say obsessed, I mean it.
it is used to treat high blood pressure also. Studies of people who take Suboxone for less than a year show a relapse rate of virtually 100%. Opioid dependence is, unfortunately, a chronic and permanent affliction. I know-- I've had it for 17 years. If the person was MY relative, I would do everything I could to keep the person safely treated.
that stuff is a godsend and really reduces the withdrawal symptoms...can you talk to your doctor again and get the clonidine??? it is a blood pressure med used for detox... its nonaddictive...and it WORKS! i thought i heard suboxone WAS available in canada...the place to check would be www.naabt.org the information would be there i bet as well as tons of information on suboxone available,..i am on suboxone, long term...if you have any questions about it send me a private message anytime...
he took my urine sample and after that we had to go to the pharmacy to pick up the suboxone, they gave me 4 2mg of them, first i started off with 2 of the 2mg, i tell you the taste is really bad, after 1/2 hour he gave me the 3rd 2mg, i was feeling still agitated and restless, i was sweating and my blood pressure was high, then he gave me the 4th pill, well, as soon as i had the 4th one i had to go to the bathroom, after that came back in the room and i was feeling good, we spoke and we left of
Thanks so much. I've heard Clonidine works. She already has low blood pressure normally, and I think it is a blood pressure medicine, right? What you said about movies, I have noticed it distracts her and probably helps pass the time. Do you work? I don't see how anyone could work and go through these w/d. Her body jerks are so strong, they are hard o describe. They are not constant like a seizure but about every few seconds (5 seconds or more). I may check on Clonidine tomorrow for her.
That has left me with my blood pressure meds, hyzaar and lasix, and my sugar med Medifornen. Wow most drug free I had been since I can't even remember. Well doctor gave me suboxone and when I said I had trouble sleeping gave me lunesta. I started the suboxone and stayed away from the lunesta until I got use to the suboxone. I wasn't sleeping much, but the suboxone made me feel %100 better. I actually got rid of the nausea which had plague me since April and started getting some energy.
Just keep up with your attitude. I am on suboxone about 1mo 1wk and I am dreading coming off the suboxone myself. I am not really a strong person. But you have what it takes and you evidently know how to use your support. You life is going to be so big after this withdraw and your new life will soon begin so please just try to calm down and relax. If you are aching jump in the hot bath and soak for a bit. This will help with your legs also.
I am now on day 9 of Suboxone and that, thank GOD, makes me 9 days clean of opiates (or so I thought) So is Suboxone an opiate or not? I was reading some info on Suboxone and I'm not sure which website to go to in order to get fact based info on the medication. I understand that there are a lot of sites out there strictly in the business of detox and that seems to be what I'm running into over and over again. I am now scared to death to detox off of Suboxone.
I may try and use the Suboxone again soon after I wean down like I said. I think it will be easier, and the Suboxone will then help space apart my dosage of Oxy which will help lessen sides to help me get off completely.
I agree. I was prescribed 8mg suboxone and asked many times why? And realize I was only a meal ticket. And I detoxed almost 2 months ago. And still waiting for that 90 day mark. Hope it comes soon. So I am not so depressed unmotivated and weak and I am getting massages acupuncture every week because after or in the middle if detox. I was so scared ended up at advertised New Beginning clinic in Florida.
anyway my heart was pounding and racing so fast yesterday and continues today that I went to publix to take my blood pressure on those machines and my b/p was good at 119 over 78, but my pulse was 102. I took a clonazepam 1mg last nite and this morning but its not helping and my new doctor told me to never take more than that. but i have a lot going on (divorce, laid off, now in foreclosure, u name it!
I was hooked on pers on and of for years and the Suboxone even at this low dose has been a godsend. I did not get caught using bezo s by my doctor. I went in when it was time to refill my suboxone and told him. The main problem seems to be that the outpatient treatment will not allow me to continue while on Klonopin. The doctor has explained the big worry when it comes to benzo s and suboxone is someone injecting benzo's.
I have heard of clonodine being taken with suboxone when someone has been tapering and are down to a low dose. But since clonodine drops your blood pressure you really need to be monitored by a doctor while taking it. I was prescribed clonodine in the past for withdrawals and my doctor had me come in twice a week to get my blood pressure checked. It may also be helpful to call a pharmacist. Don't trust information from strangers on the net when it comes to your health.
I've heard about the blood pressure medication but that may not work for me as I already am anemic and have low blood pressure. I think I have just about everything else for the Thomas Recipe, if I can manage to keep anything down. Why is my name black and everyone else's is blue? Thanks for your advice. I know I'm going to need all the help I can get in the next few days or weeks!!
I was on methadone for 4 years and now I'm on suboxone. been on it for at least 5 yrs and I take approximately 2mg a day and I have no plans of getting of it anytime soon maybe never. it keeps me forgetting that I am an opiate addict untill I don't have it then I remember real quick.
it really helped me with the heart pounding, just watch your blood pressure, you dont want it getting to low
See if your doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin (up to 2700 mg a/day in divided doses) for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep. Clonidine is very helpful for the creepy-crawly feeling and control of blood pressure variations. It will make your withdrawals easier. All of these can be taken simultaneously.
I told my suboxone doc last time I was in to see him that I was having a lot of anxiety even with my depression meds and suboxone so he prescribed my Clonidine twice a day- 0.1mg Has this med worked on others?? I know it is used for other things and I just dont see a difference, but know I cant have too much cause its for BloodPressure as well, right?? I dont know,.. So if anyone can post and we can go from here with questions!!! I would appreciate it! Thanks!
my plan is to take my last hydro this evening and start withdrawing in the am and hopefully start my suboxone tuesday, taking the blood pressure medicine and the valium in the interim. i am wondering, for all who has done the suboxone, what to expect. i am hearing mixed feelings on the forum. i dont want to detox off of the hydro with the sub just to have to detox again off the soboxone. any input is welcome. p.s. i am so glad i found this forum.
but you have to tell him how you are feeling maybe there is more he can do for you... ask about clonidine, for blood pressure it also works for withdrawals great!
