suboxone

1018335 tn?1270080530 I would like to get off suboxone sometime this year. could i take something like cymbalta and just quit the suboxone - basicly having the anti depressant take it's place in some way? are there any combinations that work with suboxone? I am seeing my phsciatrist tomarrow and would like to have some ideas as far as my medications. this is so confusing, yet liberating that soon i will be functional for the first time in my life. Thanks for your help.
Avatar f tn ve been reading horror stories on withdrawals off of Cymbalta, should I continue with the anti depressant or just keep weaning off the suboxone and try to deal with the depression? Really confused and scared!
1575129 tn?1296004646 i was put on suboxone 2 years ago and i have been told by my pain management doctor that it does not work for fm but when i am off of it i have no energy and i can't get out of bed,but when i get back on it i am like a totally different person.i don't know what to do to get another doctor to put me back on it.any suggestions??
Avatar m tn So if im on oxys, and i go on suboxone, i can take cymbalta safely and it will help with withdrawls and depression?
306455 tn?1288862071 Oh girl can I ever relate. I think that it too needs to be slowly reduced over a long time. Cutting your dose in 1/2 is too drastic. I have heard that daily rigorous exercise will help counteract and after several months of that it will be easier to reduce your dose. If you find another solution, Please let me know! I have been on Zoloft for far too long. I also think that a person could slowly replace the AD with aminos.
Avatar m tn I have been on Suboxone for almost exactly 7 years, and I started at 24 mgs, and I am now down to .50 which is 1/2 of 1mg. I am tired of being on the Suboxone and I have talked to my doctor that I want to get off the suboxone for good. I am tired off taking a pill. But, the main question I have is that for the last 3 years my depression is horrible and it is only getting worse. I do take Cymbalta 60mg but that is doing nothing at all.
Avatar f tn Ok I am weaning off suboxone slowly have gone from 8 mgs to 4 mgs over the last 4 months but have been very depressed, the doctor started me on 30 mg of cymbalta 8 days ago, nauseous first 3 days and now mouth is very dry, haven't really noticed any other side effects and it's too soon to tell if it's helping with the depression but I've been reading some horror stories about cymbalta withdrawals, should I stop now?? Or is it alot of hype?
Avatar m tn It comes without the euphoria and respritory depression that full agonist opiates have but suboxone is still highly addictive. It can be very hard to stop using it. Getting off can be nearly impossible if not done properly. You also have some other medical conditions that may respond well to suboxone now but in a negative way later, like anxiety and depression. If you decide at some point that suboxone is no longer a benefit to you, you're facing a tough task getting off of it.
Avatar m tn So ive done some research on it this morning and there is all kinds of sites that talk about Cymbalta w/d and my pharmasiste dont even know they exsist what is a junkie to do when you cant trust your Doctor, I have more trust in my fellow addicts and GOOD GOOD FRIENDS on here than my own health providers this would make a preacher cuss, Da, gone im made my dr better be glad i cant afford him any more I would rip him a new A@%*@*&^%$@#
Avatar f tn So ive been on suboxone almost 1 week now for my Norco addiction and it has been helping with the cravings.. I also started Celexa but iam getting sick from it..... I was wondering what i should ask my doc to put me on instead? i need something for my depression but Celexa just isnt the right medication... anyone have any advice and maybe what u r taking?
Avatar f tn I dont know anything about Lyrica other than a cousin takes it for fibro and it works well for her. Regarding suboxone how much are you taking? For how long have you been on it? I did not gain weight on suboxone, but it did make me tired alot and nod at times. Maybe this is why you've gained weight? Do you take it for pain or as a maintenance drug? Kicking suboxone is very possible. I am 6 months clean from 2 1/2 years on suboxone.
1675455 tn?1328478107 I don't know anything about suboxone, except for what I've read. I have a friend who's a NP who told me I should try it; that it works great if you only are on it for a very short time to get off the narcotics. Personally, I decided against it. Like you, I'm a pain patient. I'm not addicted mentally. I've never taken more than I was prescribed. I am just very uneasy about being on so much medication. I was on a lot more than you.
Avatar f tn I made a typo in my original post. I AM currently taking Cymbalta and Xanax for the ancy legs and arms. If anyone has any ideas please share them. This isnt just at night but it goes on all day. I am feeling desperate because I feel like this is hurting my life right now more than the 20 vicodin es I was taking a day.
Avatar n tn Hello, I was hoping to maybe get some advice from one of the dr's. My husband is currently on 8 mg subutex 3 times a day, before he went to rehab he was abusing xanax, oxys and morphine. Now he is on the subs. He actually seemed like his old self for quit some time. He takes the subs, robaxin(muscle relaxer), xanax (10 mg 3 times a day), cymbalta (anti-depressant). He had 3 back surgeries. I know he is in pain, but I also know he still abuses the xanax.
Avatar f tn I can't follow your original post. Are you taking both Diluadids and Suboxone and/or wanting to? Like TrayCee said, Suboxone's is primarily used for withdrawal. Are you seeing two different doctors?
Avatar n tn fairly mild though, if you taper real real low. I got off cymbalta, subs, and topamax within about 3 months span... life is WAY better. I'm in a 12 step program.
Avatar f tn I use to take opiate based drugs and got off of them with methadone and suboxone. I still had major pain and 10-12 years ago tramadol got popular was something they never thought could be abused but I learned after 150mg (3 pill) that it was, So here I am today trying to stop! My doctor wrote a script for Cymbalta 60mg nine months so I could stop taking so many tramadol. He thinks I am only taking 8 a day the max but I take between 10-16 a day.
Avatar m tn but is ur dr telling u to take sub and oxy each am? or cymbalta and oxy? but if u were on sub for 20 days why r u still on oxy? can u clarify? I was also on cymbalta as it is a fibromyalgia drug for pain as well as an AD//lyrica and nuerontin are also fibro drugs for pain..as well as other things....cymbalta nor lyrica agreed with me..when i was on cymbalta I did not give a flying F about anything! I would stay up til 2 on work nights, drank too much etc...
522415 tn?1242937755 Has anyone had any experience with Suboxone, good or bad? Does it work well on fairly severre pain? Thanks in advance for the advice and answers!
Avatar m tn What is the best way to wean down? Also I heard that suboxone helps with the withdrawals, Does anyone have any information on which drugs help? Please let me know, I am scared to death from everything I've heard.
596143 tn?1226648054 I'm on Cymbalta for moodswings and fibro. Someone posted that they were on Cymbalta and Lamactil and it worked well. Cant find the post. Anyone taking this combination and does it work.
Avatar m tn tried to put me back on the Suboxone. Blew my mind. Within the next 20 minutes, he offered me Tramadol, Ultram and several others. I told him he could give me the Sub, but he would have to come to my house and ram it down my throat each morning or else I would never take it. After about 45 minutes of this, I walked from his office with NO prescriptions, my choice, not his. I had a big smile on my face as I left the building.
621322 tn?1222138491 i WAS ON sUB FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. aBOUT 3 WEEKS LATER i HAD A THREE DAY BOUT OF wd'S....pANIC FEELING, ANCIE LEGS AND ARMS HOT AND COLD SWEAT'S. tALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT CYMBALTA IT HELPS.
Avatar n tn I was put on cymbalta for depression and nerve pain ( RSD ). I hate taking new medicines I know nothing about. I am young and I am afraid of it. I start off taking 30 mgs for a week than increase to 60 than I will get up to 120 at some point. Could someone please tell me something about this drug? Is it safe? Thanks Susan...
Avatar m tn Limit suboxone use to 30 days. TOPS. You're trading one for another. I started liking the way sub's made me feel too. I had to stop it all.
Avatar f tn I definitely had some big bouts of depression. I feel like the first 3 weeks were great, and I felt really positive, and felt stabilized, and then right after that, I felt things start to get hard...and that is where you are right now, so maybe it's normal.
Avatar m tn Thanks. to everyone for the kind words. I'll talk to her about getting on her multivitamin again (she stopped taking it about a month before all of this, unrelated). atthebeach- could her being on antidepressants be making it worse? I also looked into the ADs she's on (Cymbalta and Trazodone) and there is a high risk for serotonin syndrome. She's been on these pills for at least a year and was fine while she was on the Percocet, so I don't know what to do.
1258539 tn?1293840202 Overall I think Cymbalta is one of the best medication out there but this have a cost. Cymbalta cost is outrageous and Cymbalta is very hard to stop. I stopped cold-turkey after using it for only 5 months and I had brain zaps for a little more than a month. The withdrawal was quite severe but it is expected with all potent powerful antidepressant.
Avatar f tn personal_page_id=817569 The link above takes you to the person on here who wrote about Cymbalta and Abilify helping her daughters. It is written in five parts. Thought you might be interested.
