If I saw a similar patient in the office, I would do an interview, physical exam, EKG and then probably a stress test and echocardiogram. If all tests came back normal, I would encourage to continue to exercise and take the stairs. Normal heart VT is not dangerous and exercise is a good thing. Sure, if you can work in the elevator phobia that is a good idea because I am sure there are times when you can't walk the stairs in other buildings.

I went to a doctor and was ordered a complete blood test, liver function test and lipid tests. Everything was normal except for Bilirubin which was 1.6 (normal 0.3 - 1.2) and cholestral which was 220 (LDL - 170). I was said that it is normal for some people to have moderately high bilirubin since the other tests were in normal range. Can somebody help me with what might be the cause for my dark yellow urine?

Is your good eye 20/15 without glasses? And your refraction in the left eye? Also, get a PAM or RAM test to see if the retina will see better than 20/40. If it gets to 20/25 or better consider removal of the cataract. Dr. O.

Ram, please do not worry about your life expectancy. You could walk out on the street tomorrow and be hit by a bus! But I will quote my old GI doctor "I've seen some people live up to late 70s with this disease and the disease is not what kills them, it's usually something else". Similar to Ram, my husband didn't get HBV after us being together for 4-5 years. He now has had the vaccination series and is protected. My children also do not have HBV. Those that are HbeAg negative with lower viral load are less infectious than someone that is HBeAg positive with high viral load. Like Ram said, take vaccination series and then after complete test antibody titers, since you want to be sure you respond to vaccine to ensure protection.

Ram a very carefull monitoring is needed for hbv.Only treatment is required if found your liver is not ok. It is test by fibroscan. Otherwise only monitoring in 6 month.therr r lots of good doctor in india. Where r u from.

Hair loss....so what...as you get older it gets thinner and changes anyway...in the big picture of what is going on with you is hair really that important. I had to face that question and my answer was no. While it is a good question if it were posed to you "we can possibly cure your HCV but you will have hair loss" what would your answer have been, Hopefully you would pick the HCV cure.

thankyou for responding, yes had the test reached my target heart rate , but didnt feel like i had exerted myself enough to give my heart a real test, thankfully nothing showed, but wish i had some answers to the chest pain that goes down my left arm, and cardioligist says its nothing, well its not nothing its very disturbing actually put me on lipitor as bad cholestrol is 7 oh well if i cark it least i know nothing was wrong..

Most probably you are Hep B negarive. Check antibodies. Take vaccination if required.

Had a nuclear treadmill stress test done while taking the test the whole time the nurse held me up from behind 2 hands on back because i stated i had back problems and as soon as test started she began this procere is this comman practice?

So I have gestational diabetes and it gets pretty bad sometimes and I'm already on medicine for it.. well I'm supposed to keep track of my blood sugar four time a day and I haven't been able to since last Friday which is not good... I haven't been able to because I ran out of test strips for my blood sugar meter and I am absolutely broke and have no way to get any so I have no clue when the next time I can test my blood sugar will be.

If so, they can give you something for your anxiety. I had the treadmill stress test and I was able to take a xanax. If it's the other one that's a medicine induced stress test where you lay on a table, then I'm not sure. Is your Dr. wanting you to get this test done? Has the chest pain went away since you started using your inhaler? You know anxiety can give alot of us shortness of breath and chest pains.

I am scheduled for a nuclear stress test on july 30, and an echo. I have had an echo but was wondering what the stress test was?? Anyone with info please help??????

After my first a-fib episode they had me do the stress test and they advised they are prepared for anything, You need to trust your cardiologist. Good Luck!

I can produce a numbert of different opinions what is the appropriate heart rate and so on with exercising. The best method for someone with a heart issue is to have a stress test. A stress test is oftened done for the purpose of learning the degree of tolerance/risk one can safely do. The rule of thumb stated is not recommended for someone who has heart issues. You will be safe to engage in exercising according to METs.

I assume you had an Echo Stress Test and not a Nuclear one. I am sure the "wiggle lines" you are referring to had nothing to do with you walking barefoot (I had them too up to the point were the ECG became unreadable and I have as yet found nobody that could/would explain this to me) and they stopped the test because you had reached your prescribed heart rate of 140 BPM - so nothing wrong with that.

Don't know your medical issues but your age is an indication for twice weekly antenatal testing.

Stress test or non-stress test? During a NST they just hook you up to a monitor to keep track of baby's movements and heart rate. During a stress test they actually stimulate contractions and monitor baby's response to those contractions.

So I have to go now every week for a stress test that they are going to be doing on my baby because I have extra fluid. Does anybody know how they do it?
