Avatar m tn I donate blood thru blood banks very three months, do they have reliable test for HIV??
Avatar m tn around that same i lost my job and apt and was living with my grandmother. i was extremely stressed with constant calls from banks and constantly worried about my financial problems. i had trouble sleeping because of anxiety and ate very poorly for the past 4 months. but it seems like the more i read about hiv symptoms the more it feels like i may have it witch adds more stress. im going to get tested in 2 days. how long until the results come back?
Avatar m tn Symptoms are not HIV related. Yes blood banks must test for HIV and if they told you the results then you can be satisfied with that at 180 days. Most places will not tell you results but will get in touch with you if it is positive.
Avatar m tn I understand that PCR - RNA HIV test or NAAT is still relatively new and blood banks use it for testing blood donors/organs. Surly that would imply that NAAT test 'much better' compared to antibody or p24 alone? which are 'supposedly' - gold standard in 2013 for routine testing, even so that BASHH guidelines recommend it as a 'first line' for diagnostic purposes. Of course I understand NAAT is expensive and very time consuming and NHS simply can't afford it.
Avatar f tn 1) When we last spoke you said my 28 day PCR( costly in the outer banks, I could rent a house for 2 more weeks for what I paid) and neg hiv 1/2 antibody test is definitive. Do I need to retest? 2) I did a 35,42 and 45 day hiv 1/2 antibody test as well and they are all neg. Are my results conclusive? Do I need to test out. Is the combo pcr and hiv 1/2 at 28 days a conclusive test.
Avatar n tn Negative for chest pain, mildly positive for ischemic ECG changes, and negative for significant arrhythmia. LV and RV uptake and size is normal. No evidence for transient ischemic dilation. Measured ejection fraction is 72%. In summary: imaging shows a small area of possible myocardial ischemia versus shifting breast tissue attenuation artifact. These abnormalities are in the distribution of the left descending artery.
1491262 tn?1288413065 You have to lay flat for 30 mins, then get tilted slightly for another 30 mins, then you can sit upright for another 30mins. If no bleeding occurs, you can go home.
Avatar n tn As follow up my doctor did a nuclear stress test, results showing normal, good blood flow and no blockages. Is the result correct? Where did the two blockages shown during the catherization go? I was just confused by the results, which were given to me via answering machine by a nurse. Should I call my doctor to question the results of the stress test?
Avatar m tn I recently took a treadmill stress test and nuclear stress test. Basically, the conclusions are that I have: 1) moderate size inferior ischemia 2) LVEF is 56% 3) ECG is positive for ischemia at a good workload. No chest pains, no arrhythmia. I've research the Internet and have reached a tentative first impression, but would appreciate any professional feedback on the above three conclusions. I am being scheduled for a heart catheterization. Thank you.
Avatar m tn the dubotomine stress test prior to the stenting said it showed positive for ischemia affecting heart wall in three places. EF was 70.19%. What was notable about this test was that I am perfectly normal at low and medium dose of the dubotamine. Maybe I should lust live like that - low and medium pulse? All the grim looking stats came at high dose with pulse at 120. That's high for an 81-year-old? It would take me a fair sprint along the road to get it up to that level.
Avatar m tn I just completed a tread mill stress test and a nuclear stress test. Briefly, the results are: 1) attained 100% target heart rate, no chest pains, no arrhythmia 2) LVEF is 56% 3) Moderate size infereior ischemia 4.) ECG is positive for ischemia at good workload (reached heart rate of 143). I've formed a preliminary impression from my research on the Internet, but I would appreciate professional feedback. I am scheduled for a heart catheterization. Thank you.
Avatar m tn I had a tread mill stress test and a nuclear stress test. I have formed a preliminary impression from my research on the Internet, but would appreciate feedback on the above 4 items. I havel scheduled a heart catherterization. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I am new here. I am 44 and overweight, never smoked. Have had a lot of brain surgeries for Chiari Malformation/Hydrochepalus. Recently I have had shortness of breath...and so test showed low oxygen saturation upon exherstion. Test of lung were unremarkable...except for a "floppy" trachea that collapse by 50% on exhaling. Just has a chemical stress test done and am waiting to see a cardiologist on Friday.
Avatar f tn test with myocardial perfusion imaging revealed mild to moderate ischemia involving the basal anterior septum and mid anterior septal walls. He is status post recent (4/7/08) four-vessel bypass graft with a LIMA to the LAD. My husband has been labeled a walking piece of plaque by his cardiologist. With his open-heart surgery being so recent, with him being diabetic, and he has never had any symptoms of his illness - should this recent test be looked into further by your opinion?
Avatar f tn I recently had an abnormal EKG that showed a LBBB. I was sent for a Lexiscan stress test and this was the conclusion: Calculated post stress LVEF 51%. There was a medium sized mild to moderate, fixed defect in the basal anteroseptal, mid anteroseptal, apical anterior, apical septal, apex segments.
Avatar n tn t agree on why I did so well on the stress test. Q. Can some one do this well on a stress test, ie 13.5 minutes and still have major heart problems? What's next?
Avatar f tn My husband just received his results from recent stress test. (He is 36 y/o. Father had first double bypass at 37 and died at 56, so there is a family history of heart issues.) Stress spect cardiolite images decreased cardiolite uptake in anterior and inferior walls. Spect cardiolite scan was positive for moderate amount of ischemia of anterior and inferior walls. Comments: 1. Anterior defect/possible soft tissue/breast attenuation artifact, 2.
Avatar f tn ok I have had the stress test for abnormal EKG, I passed this test with flying colors but have not yet heard the results. Would this be a good thing?
