Avatar f tn Has anyone taken a stress test ? My doctor got me so worried. I told him today at my appt that my baby doesn't move as much as he use to everyone else told me it's bcuz he's losing space. So I wasn't too concerned and now my doc wants to make sure everything is okay so tomorrow I'm going in for a stress test . Has anyone done this? I'm pretty worried now :( I just want everything to be okay.
Avatar n tn My nuclear stress test results were as follows ver batim. I do not know what it means, are the results acceptable, good very good etc. What does this say about the blood flow to the heart muscle ? "injection of Myoview nuclear tracer & resting images obtained excercised on a treadmill for 5 min 34 sec. to 10.
Avatar f tn When using EKG and blood pressure monitoring alone the test is variously called a cardiac stress test, exercise stress test, exercise treadmill test, exercise tolerance test, stress test or exercise ECG test. Heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, EKG, and how tired you feel are monitored during the test.
Avatar f tn My mom went to see a Heart Specialist and he recommended the Adenosine Stress Test. She is not having any chest pains, but this he said would make sure there are no blockages. I would like more information about this procedure and is it dangerous? Another doctor had recommended a stress test that involved putting something in her veins and it would make her heart speed up. This Heart Specialist said no, and that this Adenosine Stress Test is not the same thing.
Avatar m tn She has stage 2 hypertension and when she gets near a physician or any hospital setting her blood pressure shoots off the roof. She is scheduled for an Echo Stress Test however I am relucted to send her until we can get her blood pressure under control. She had an EKG had it indicated a slight variance and we went to the cardiologist and he checked her out and he stated if it weren't for the fact her family history indicated heart disease he wouldn't schedule a test.
Avatar f tn The EKG and echo showed an arrhythmia and premature contractions. Since I was still having symptoms they did a nuclear stress test. The scans showed a "significant" blockage, but I was able to run on the treadmill for 13 minutes, which the doctor says would be impossible with that kind of blockage. He says he would be very shocked if there was that kind of blockage. He has scheduled me for a heart cath next week and I am trying to figure out what to do.
Avatar n tn Never had any symptoms of heart problems. Just had a Thallium Stress Test as a precautionary measure due to family medical history. The stress test results showed an evidence of ischemia of basal septal wall. Cardiologist is recommending catheterization. Is it necessary? Some doctors say absolutely not. Use aggressive medical treatments to control cholesterol and blood pressure with 80 mg. aspirin daily.

Avatar f tn Given the family background and an abnormal stress test, a heart cath would serve to give you and the doctor a good view of your cardiac arteries and also serve as a reference point if further work needs to be done. I suggest you put away your fears by doing some research, you will find the procedure is very safe, and proceed with confidence. Believe me, plaque buildup is serious stuff, and the procedure is very safe.
Avatar m tn Usually, a doctor is on site to be available if the stress test causes an adverse medical problem. And there is a tech that conducts the test and together with the doctor they view an EKG reading as the test progresses. That has been my experience. A nuclear stress test measures blood flow to your heart muscle both at rest and during stress on the heart.
Avatar n tn for pre-testing for ablation scan showed alot of structual damage to the heart and my mitral valve has adhered to the back of my haert so they scrapped the ablation procedure because they said it wouldn`t improve my condition. My EF is 13-15 percent and my vo2 stress test came back with 14. Do you feel that I should be put on a transplant list if I qualify ?
Avatar f tn Anyone know?
Avatar n tn Usually a cath procedure is done after a stress test to open any blocked vessels discovered with a stress test as well as measure any gradient pressures and intra-chamber, vessel pressures, etc.!. Are you having chest pains that can not be relieved with medication? Pain with exertion and relief with rest?
Avatar n tn Likewise, I've also had this test too many times to count...and I don't glow yet! It's a very safe test. Hope your test turns out well.
Avatar n tn hello, i had a heart catherization procedure 4 weeks ago. All went well and looks like everything is healing fine. I had a bruise near the groin area that went away and the tiny little lump i had right under where they poked is going away. However, the artery next to the poked area is still a little swolen. It has not gotten bigger, but seems like it is taking to long. Shouldn't the artery swell go down by now? I am not in pain and going to work and even taking walks.
Avatar m tn The stress test was stopped while monitoring your system and that almost always indicates there is evidence of ischemia (lack of adequate blood flow) and may be the result of vessel occlusion, and sometime it is evidence of an old heart attack The test is not very reliable for the conditions named, however, it is considered unsafe to continue without the possibility of injury. If you felt a little pressure in the chest that would be additional evidence for some blockage.
Avatar n tn His doctor of internal medicine wants to do a nuclear stress test to make sure his heart is strong enough to be subjected to general anesthesia. He has leaky valves. We are concerned that this may be a procedure that should be done by a specialist.
Avatar f tn The cardiologist put me on a 24 hour portable EKG machine to monitor the palpitations and prescribed a Echocardiogram and Nuclear Stress Test to be done the same week. I got both of them done last week. He said the echo looked fine, but the EKG under stress was abnormal. The pictures taken after the treadmill walk apparently also showed that some part (about 10%) of my heart was not receiving enough blood.
Avatar f tn A Thallium Stress test looks at the blood flow to your heart muscle at rest and during stress. During a stress test, a radioactive material called Thallium is injected into a vein. A gamma camera takes pictures of the Thallium in your heart. the EKG and Echo were at rest and they are Fine ! now A Thallium Stress test just to see how your heart Managing the blood during stress.
974371 tn?1424653129 From what you describe, it sounds as if you had a positive echo treadmill stress test, based on some changes on your EKG, as well as some changes in the motion of your heart as seen by exercise echocardiogram. Generally, the stress test is a screening test for coronary artery disease. The next step is a coronary angiogram, where they will be able to visualize the arteries that supply blood to your heart (coronary arteries), and determine if there are any blockages or narrowing.
Avatar f tn and in Sept I had an exercise stress test. When I went to have the stress test preformed, the doctor did not place the cuff on correctly. It get slipping and they kept having a problem getting it to work. During the test I felt fine. But the test kept taking the incorrect blood pressure measurements and over halfway through it , they stopped the test.. That was in Sept.
