212161 tn?1599427282 Hi, we'll I had my stress test done, just the exercise one with no dye or pictures, I ran it about 7 mins got my heart to 104 percent, could of keep going if I needed to, had no chest pains, or sob. They said you passed sent me on my way. Good news My question is , without pics how much can they tell about the heart, if I had a blockage would it had shown up? Should I feel good about my heart? Thank you so much for all your time.
Avatar n tn I've had this test twice. They inject you with a radioactive tracer that lets them image your heart and take pictures using a special camera before and after the stress test. The "stress" part of it lasts only a few minutes. It's painless, if somewhat time-consuming.
Avatar f tn I recently had a stress test and was told that the results were not clear. My cardiologist suggests a 64 slice coronary ct to rule out blockages. I had no pain or symptoms while on the treadmill. He said that it may be purely anatomical as women's breast tissue can complicate the reading of the pictures. Coincidentally, my left breast was radiated for 8 weeks due to intraductal carcinoma 19 years ago. Could this effect the pictures?
512736 tn?1211343352 4-16-08 at cardiologist office and had an angina attack and was told I need a stress test. I have had these tests before and it will be fine and 2 weeks later I am being rushed to emergency for stents. Why did this not show on stress test? They are expensive. Thank You for your help!
Avatar n tn I took a home pregnancy test today which was positive, i had a chemical stress test two weeks ago. Should I be worried will the chemicals effect the baby?
212161 tn?1599427282 I assume you had an Echo Stress Test and not a Nuclear one. I am sure the "wiggle lines" you are referring to had nothing to do with you walking barefoot (I had them too up to the point were the ECG became unreadable and I have as yet found nobody that could/would explain this to me) and they stopped the test because you had reached your prescribed heart rate of 140 BPM - so nothing wrong with that.
212161 tn?1599427282 am so stressed about a nuclear/stress test friday i have thrown myself into anxiety over it . not sure why i have to come off my timilol pills for my pac thursday been on them for 15 years or more that scares me.
212161 tn?1599427282 Overall, a nuclear stress test is about 85 - 90% accurate.Your chance of a cardiac event after a normal nuclear stress test is about 1.62% per year for the next 10 years, better than a sampling of the general public. Normally, a blockage will show up once it hits approx 70% occluded. I know you read about people that have a stress test that is normal and drop dead the next day, don't get too worked up about that.
212161 tn?1599427282 Has anyone had the stress test with the new shot they use, last time I had it, the shot made my heart race, they had to give me another shot to bring it back to normal, they told me yesterday they no longer use the shot that makes your heart race, Would like to hear from anyone who's had the new shot and what you felt, thank you
Avatar n tn I have been scheduled for a treadmill stress test but I am nervous to do it. To even think of it gives me fast heartbeat. I feel well except for high blood pressure (controlled) but each time I get excited or nervous, my heartbeat goes fast, more than 100. When I am in the doctor's office or when I see the doctor's gadgets, my heartbeat goes really fast. But when I am just home and relaxed, my heartbeat is from 65 to 80. Should I undergo this treadmill test?
Avatar n tn A nuclear stress test lets doctors see pictures of your heart while you are resting and shortly after you have exercised. The test can give information about the size of the heart's chambers, how well the heart is pumping blood, and whether the heart has any damaged or dead muscle. Nuclear stress tests can also give doctors information about your arteries and whether they might be narrowed or blocked because of coronary artery disease.
1491262 tn?1288413065 my husband just had a nuclear stress test he has to go back to the dr. Wednesday , they said he had some blockage and they saw a place on his heart they want to check out he has had triple bypass and had a heart attack last year . they want to do some kind of dye test now what could this mean ? and what might the dr. do im trying to understand all of this .
Avatar m tn If you have angina and almost always that indicates some plaque buildup in the coronary arteries. The best test is a perfusion stress test with a contrast medium injected prior to the test. MRA and CT scan 128 slice are other angiograms. My CT scan did not involve a stress test, it provided a good image (3D) of the vessel anatomy. When an individual is admitted into ER with chest pains, etc. A CT scan evalutes the condition of vessels very quickly as a opposed to a cath angiogram.
Avatar f tn I recently had a nuclear stress w/pictures. Not sure I'm describing that correctly. I sailed through the treadmill portion and then was told my "picture" showed borderline abnormal. Have now been told to consider a heart cath and am concerned about the safety of the invasive procedure. I have family history of heart attack (father), high BP and high colesteral. How do you feel about a 64 CT scan compared to heart cath? Thank you for this service.
Avatar n tn Not sure what is stressing you out as far as the details. But try to focus on one stress at atime...if you are worried about money - look for local resources to help you with things for baby. Your local WIC office should have a good size list of resources. For family or relationship stress find someone you can trust to talk to for some support. Sometimes just talking will help relieve some stress. know that you cannot control your situation but you can control your choices now and your outlook.
Avatar n tn Went to family physician who was concerned and suggested nuclear stress test or CAT angiogram and gave me a choice. He ruled out blood work to look for enzymes. He told me the CAT would require prior insurance approval and recommended nuclear stress test. Like the EKG's I am sure that nothing will show up on the stress test. Should I save the insurance co pays etc and go straight to CAT angiogram? This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar m tn Thank you for your time. I appreciate the reply. I was attached to a 12-Lead EKG during 10+ minutes of treadmill stress with my heart rate @ 175 bpm or so, and they said EKG was perfect. I'm not sure if this qualifies as a "stress EKG", but seems close. All tests show a healthy heart, just the "99.9% chance of test anomaly" since "stress pictures show perfect, resting pictures had one anomalous picture".
Avatar f tn My likelihood of getting called back for more pictures is high, due to these darn fibrocystic breasts of mine, which will drag the whole mammo thing out for a week or two at least. Anybody else suffer from this post-scare annual stressfest?
Avatar m tn Pointman, I had a thallium stress test last week and there was no blood testing that preceded the test to determine if I was able to take it. If we're talking about the same test, they put an IV in you, inject you with thallium, put you under a gamma camera so they can take pictures of your heart at rest. Then you go to the treadmill where they get you up to a defined heart rate, inject you with more thallium, and it's back under the camera.
Avatar f tn The cardiologist put me on a 24 hour portable EKG machine to monitor the palpitations and prescribed a Echocardiogram and Nuclear Stress Test to be done the same week. I got both of them done last week. He said the echo looked fine, but the EKG under stress was abnormal. The pictures taken after the treadmill walk apparently also showed that some part (about 10%) of my heart was not receiving enough blood.
Avatar f tn So it was a perfusion test? And what were the results??
Avatar f tn I'm so stress! I'm 31 weeks and my whole pregnancy I been stress! My husband is away in the army and this is my second time finding out he is cheating on me! I really don't know what to do any more! I'm just so sad! Don't even want to eat or do any thing! Like what do I do from here?
