Avatar m tn I am 62 years old. During Stress Test I was stopped at 136 bpm as the Dr. said Target HR is achieved. The MET was 7.7. Is it a reason to worry? What should be ideal MET for a person of my age?
Avatar n tn I have had chest pressure and shortness if breath so was scheduled for a stress test with vasodilator,. It showed a medium to large moderate
intensity partially reversible defect involving all apical segments and
extending into true apex and the mid anteroseptum. This is larger than on
the prior study done in 2017. The defect is only partially reversible
with SDS score of 4.
Wall motion post stress is severely hypokinetic in the apex, with gated EF of 51%.
Avatar n tn Calcium score was zero. My cardiologist considers the thallium test a false positive. I also have an unrelated arrythmia (pvc's) for the past 10 years controlled with atenolol. I am considered high risk for cardiac cath due to the arrythmia. In addition I have mild plaque in both carotid arteries. At the age of 62 I am advised to lose weight, continue my exercise program and manage stress as risk factors for CAD. Should I pursue a cardiac cath at this point?
Avatar n tn Went to family physician who was concerned and suggested nuclear stress test or CAT angiogram and gave me a choice. He ruled out blood work to look for enzymes. He told me the CAT would require prior insurance approval and recommended nuclear stress test. Like the EKG's I am sure that nothing will show up on the stress test. Should I save the insurance co pays etc and go straight to CAT angiogram? This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn Originally I was to begin Arimidex with no need for chemo or radiation as I had double mastectomy. My oncologist suggested an additional test called Oncotype DX to determine a recurrence score based on past models of tumors with the same genetic markers. My recurrence score was relatively high with 20% chance of recurrence. He strongly recommended 4 rounds of cytoxan and taxotere which I completed in mid March.
480448 tn?1426948538 Okay, let's grade this on a curve to try and get Pax's score up! LOL Seriously, I think it's the types of stress and anxiety you're going thru that they grade on. I know certain "stressors" are harder on the heart etc. I really don't know, I'm obviously too stressed to think straight! I do hope you don't have to have the knee surgery.
Avatar f tn test with myocardial perfusion imaging revealed mild to moderate ischemia involving the basal anterior septum and mid anterior septal walls. He is status post recent (4/7/08) four-vessel bypass graft with a LIMA to the LAD. My husband has been labeled a walking piece of plaque by his cardiologist. With his open-heart surgery being so recent, with him being diabetic, and he has never had any symptoms of his illness - should this recent test be looked into further by your opinion?
Avatar n tn I had the bravo ph test done a couple weeks ago. My doctor said the score was 75 and followed that with an "ouch". I have a hiatal hernia, and respiratory symptoms seemingly related to gerd. He says I am a candidate for surgery. My question is - in laymans's terms, what does the score mean? I can't find anything online that indicates ranges for anything that is above the norm.
Avatar f tn and in Sept I had an exercise stress test. When I went to have the stress test preformed, the doctor did not place the cuff on correctly. It get slipping and they kept having a problem getting it to work. During the test I felt fine. But the test kept taking the incorrect blood pressure measurements and over halfway through it , they stopped the test.. That was in Sept.
Avatar f tn ve read I have a serious problem. Is it possible to lower the calcium score? My physician has ordered a stress test and then we will discuss what to do going forward. Has anyone else had a high calcium score with all other indicators normal? Thanks.
Avatar n tn Doctors in Indonesia were worried about my score and they thought I was going to have a heart attack any moment. They did a stress test without echo and said all was OK. I went home to Australia and saw a cardiologist over in Melbourne. He did an angiogram and a stress test with echo. My cardiologist did not say much. He told me I have one blockage on the back of my heart on a marginal branch and my arteries have only a very mild desease. Also 2 of my arteries are completely clean.
Avatar n tn I just got a test result and I'd like to see if anyone can tell what test was used to get this, and how reliable this test might be. I was tested positive for HSV-1 in the US before but when I got tested in Japan I tested positive for both HSV-1 and HSV-2.
1310285 tn?1274484281 My husband had a VO2 Max test done this morning and his "score" was 28.5. The technician seemed very impressed with this, as he was in the hospital with an EF of 10% 4 weeks ago. But as he is looking up charts on VO2 Max results online he is finding that this score is actually in the poor range (he is a 37 year old)...so can someone provide some insight on what this really means? We are very confused...
Avatar f tn Thanks so much Jon and Flycaster! I really appreciate it...I better get this stress test test back this week and I will give u an update!!
Avatar f tn I had a Stress Test done today and would really appreciate some help trying to understand some results. I have not yet seen they doctor but can see results online. -------- EKG Baseline EKG shows sinus tachycardia at a rate of 119, right axis deviation, left posterior fascicular block, poor R-wave progression. PVC's which were multifocal in nature, occasional couplets. Stress Images There is a mild decrease in tracer uptake in the inferior wall(s).
Avatar m tn Even more troubling, I obviously do not want to pass this on to any partner, so I asked my doctor about anti-viral suppression to limit the odds. He said that my test score does not make me a candidate for drugs, particularly since I'm asymptomatic, but if condoms are not going to be 100% effective, am I supposed to just live with those odds? He also said that anyone who has an index number lower than 5.0 is at a lower risk of transmitting infection.
Avatar m tn Where do I find Mets score results? Is it during a nuclear stress test? I had an EF of 50 during this test .( I see maximium workload attained 8.6 Mets, on the same test). What does it mean ? I also have a calicium heart score of 1046??
Avatar f tn I have done the cortisol stress test. Candida was ruled out 2 years ago - my doctor looked in my mouth and said there was no evidence of oral candida. I have sent off my toenail clippings to my doctor to repeat the fungal infection test. He believes there wasn't enough discolouration on the clippings the first time I sent the samples off. Diabetes was ruled out with an HbA1c test but it is high in range.
