Avatar m tn ok, that's what i figured. so based on what you said, i can imagine that test is not used for screening at blood banks.
Avatar m tn Nobody can diagnose you on line, what can be offered is an assessment of your risk. Based on what you have posted I would honestly say your risk as zero. Your tests will prove this. Regards Kevin.
Avatar f tn Take a test but unless you have had intercourse I highly doubt it dry *** on your bf hand is not going to get you pregnant at all
Avatar m tn I donate blood thru blood banks very three months, do they have reliable test for HIV??
Avatar f tn I had an HSG test done a week ago today, my doctor originally said both of my tubes are blocked, but while looking at the picture(x-rays) the very first picture shows the dye clearly going through the right Fallopian tube and exiting out and the left blocked. Then after more pressure and more dye injected the second picture shows both as being blocked. Has anyone else had this issue and if so what did your doctor say?

Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) took on Attorney General Eric Holder's admission that some banks are too big for the Justice Department to prosecute, asserting that Holder's statement illustrates why the financial institutions should be held accountable.
Avatar m tn I understand that PCR - RNA HIV test or NAAT is still relatively new and blood banks use it for testing blood donors/organs. Surly that would imply that NAAT test 'much better' compared to antibody or p24 alone? which are 'supposedly' - gold standard in 2013 for routine testing, even so that BASHH guidelines recommend it as a 'first line' for diagnostic purposes. Of course I understand NAAT is expensive and very time consuming and NHS simply can't afford it.
Avatar m tn First you need to see a doctor about the twitching and rule out an organic reason for that. More than likely it is just stress, but if your stress is such that it's causing twitching, your doctor can help you. Secondly, if you've had the infected tooth taken care of, then I assume you have stopped freaking out about dying. That stress should be gone. If you haven't taken care of it, there is nothing I can say here in public.

Avatar m tn I understand that antibody/p24 are cheap and fast, but thats not the point as a patients perspective. I need to be 100% sure that the test I am taking is spot on. Just like the blood banks ensure safety. Regards Ed.
Avatar n tn AIDS will... you need to deal with your anxiety and stress. There is a forum on MedHelp to assist with that. @ Teak The reason I suggested donating blood is because he has a definitive negative result and is not accepting it. By donating blood, he will be able to put this nervous energy towards a positive purpose.
148588 tn?1465778809 If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks…will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered….
Avatar m tn Clinics and blood banks are usually just trying to find out if someone has hepatitis or not, and then that person is referred to a specialist. Test for HBV DNA, and “e” Ag/Ab are more expensive and only used to determine status of a “CHRONIC” HBV infection and for monitoring the progression of the disease. So a clinic wouldn’t want to run an expensive test while someone may still be in the “ACUTE” stage of the infection and have a 90 to 95% chance of clearing the virus on their own.
7538172 tn?1391778720 But when I went to the HIV clinic some weeks layer to start treatment, I came back negative 3 times on the oral test. I continued to stay getting tested all through 2013. Negative every time. Also, I had one partner and was completely safe. We even got tested together. Now here it is in 2014 and another antibody blood test came back positive. But my oral test (done by professionals) is still negative. Now I'm waiting on my Western Blot.
Avatar m tn Symptoms are not HIV related. Yes blood banks must test for HIV and if they told you the results then you can be satisfied with that at 180 days. Most places will not tell you results but will get in touch with you if it is positive.
163305 tn?1333668571 The biggest U.S. bank by assets said on Thursday that it had lost $2 billion on bad bets on credit derivatives, made by a London trading desk, run by a man other traders have alternately dubbed "The London Whale" and "Voldemort." The office is intended to hedge the giant bank's credit risk, not increase it.
Avatar m tn That is a screening test not a diagnostic test for blood banks, and to monitor those that are already infected with HIV
Avatar n tn Blood banks policy. You can't give blood if you've paid for sex for a year. You can't give blood if you are gay. Had a tattoo within the year. The blood banks have hard core policies to protected the blood supply.
9167524 tn?1403620215 There are breast milk banks in some areas where you can get it. I have heard of donor communities a women who offer their surplus to mothers who can't breastfeed for whatever reasons. The second option seems sketchy to me-the milk banks screen & test all of the donations, the communities are on an honor system basis. I don't know if I trust everyone to be honest about their behaviors a especially if they are asking for money in exchange for the milk.
Avatar f tn My wife had a pacemaker installed last April to control Atrail Fibrillation. She also had an abration process to make her pacemaker dependent. She has progressively had extreme fatigue to the point that she is not able to walk very far without resting, nor exercise at all. She has had banks of tests including blood, adrenal, nuclear stress test, etc., and all were in the "normal" range.
306867 tn?1299249709 t work. Leaving too-big-to-fail banks to continue doing business as they have been is like operating on a cancer patient and taking out only half the tumor -- the disease is guaranteed to come back. And eventually prove fatal. The president can take a page from the How to Win Bipartisan Support By Playing Hardball With Your Opponents playbook used so effectively by FDR, LBJ, and Ronald Reagan.
