Avatar f tn They ran echo, ekg, Ct of chest and nuclear stress. The images in the nuclear stress test did not match. The Dr said that they isotopes did not go to the front of my chest but he did not know why. He said it did not show a blockage. He told me to go home, take it easy and follow up in his office in a few weeks. He said he was unsettled that it they did not match. I am at a loss, leaving the hospital with chest pain and an abnormal nuclear stress test is unsettleing. Any advice or thoughts?
Avatar m tn It is important to remember that each test looks at different things, I mean, what would be the point of 3 tests if they look for the same thing. When you have abnormal ECG and or stress test, a nuclear scan is important to establish whether you have any necrosis (dead heart muscle). If the nuclear scan revealed that a section of heart muscle has died, then bypass or stenting is a waste of time because the blood won't be of any benefit.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had a normal nuclear stress test but abnormal treadmill stress test?
212161 tn?1599427282 hi went to my cardio today , wants to do a stress/nuclear test this really gives me anxiety anyone have one and did you have side affects from the stuff they put in you to take pics of heart.
Avatar n tn Right after the stress test the doctor (not the Cardiologist) was talking to the Nurse about a P-wave on the ECG after the stress test, was not abnormal before the stress test. About a week after the stress test they callled me and want me to go for a Nuclear Stress test. I am assuming they found something because I have never had this test done before. The big reason I worry about this is because the test is not for a month and the results are a month after that!
Avatar n tn I recently had a nuclear stess test due to chest pain. The EKG showed abnormal, previous ischemia. The imaging portion was normal. How concerned should I be?
Avatar n tn t agree on why I did so well on the stress test. Q. Can some one do this well on a stress test, ie 13.5 minutes and still have major heart problems? What's next?
Avatar m tn Questioning why the doctor wants you to have a nuclear stress test verses a regular stress test. People can have an reaction to the nuclear stress test. The test is not perfect. The only true test, which is a procedure, is the angiogram. My mom had the nuclear stress test and was told that it was not bad and a few months later she was totally plugged in two main arteries and about 99 percent plugged in the other. Have you had an echocardiogram yet?

Avatar n tn If your EKG was abnormal before the test, it would have been more helpful to have a nuclear stress test. If your EKG changed during the stress test without pain, the fact that you had pain before may encourage you to be proactive and ask for a nuclear stress test. Nuclear GXT pushes the accuracy into the 90th percentile.
Avatar n tn I had an abnormal chemical stress test. Results were blockage during rest and stress. Also scaring in both pulmonary arteries and backflow. Cardiologist ordered a heart cath. Results were NOTHING! No scars,no blockage and no back flow. All that money for what?
Avatar n tn An Echo Stress Test or a Nuclear Stress Test, if the doctor is suspecting coronary artery disease. However, a regular stress may be sufficient in stable patients or those with a low suspicion of coronary artery disease who are being assessed for exercise tolerance (for example, prior to undergoing a structured exercise or rehab program). If you are/were experiencing chest pains an EKG Stress test is not reliable and probably should have had a Nuclear Stress Test.
Avatar m tn That is the test I am having done monday. The nuclear stress test is what he said where they inject something in to watch my heart during my stress test.
Avatar n tn I had a nuclear stress test performed. The stress analysis was suggestive of ischemia. The myocardial perfusion analysis was abnormal showing a moderate reversible ischemia. Shouldn't I have follow-up testing for blockage? (I was never notified of this by my cardiologist. When I called for results, I was told everything was normal and no need for a follow-up appointment. I later received this report from my general practitioner--4 months later.
Avatar f tn My Dr. states he i not worried about that but wants to go ahead and do the nuclear stress test just to be sure all is well. My PVC's I feel in the bottom on the left side of my heart, and my BP is always around 60-70 on the bottom side. Is this weird to anyone else?
963268 tn?1312900315 My question is, what could be causing these abnormal test results, and will the nuclear test be able to tell the tale? MY husband is 44 years old and in good shape. He does have a history of heart disease in his family (both his father and grandfather) Needless to say, we are both nervous wrecks! He travels for work and is gone until late tomorrow night. His test is Thursday morning. I worry about him even traveling until we find out what is going on, if anything. Thanks in advance!
Avatar f tn I would do a simple stress test with nuclear imaging or echocardiography. It will be more prognositic than the caclium score. If the stress test is negative and you are still experiencing the symptoms, I would say go for the catheterization. I personally wouldn't take the CT because of the unnecessary radiation exposure and the fact that the risk of catheterization is so low (very safe procedure).
