Avatar m tn I had a stress test done. I've been sedentary for about a year now because I've been afraid of provoking my SVT. I've been getting feelings of skipped beats so my doctor had me do an exercise tolerance test. I was only on the treadmill for a couple minutes when I reached my target heart rate. The tech had me keep going and sped up the treadmill. I felt fine. My heart rate reached into the mid to upper 170's. I felt a skipped beat and saw it on the monitor.
Avatar f tn When using EKG and blood pressure monitoring alone the test is variously called a cardiac stress test, exercise stress test, exercise treadmill test, exercise tolerance test, stress test or exercise ECG test. Heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, EKG, and how tired you feel are monitored during the test.
Avatar n tn If you gooogle the Holmes and Rahl scale, it will show 43 events that causes stress. If you add up what has occured in the past year, it may determine the need for coping skills before illness will occur. One year, I had about 6-8 different life changing events happen which led to my anxiety issues including memory loss and loss of appetite.
Avatar n tn My last period was 8 weeks ago I went through a breakup and had a lot of really big events happen in my life is it possible that all the stress and anxieties from all these events have delayed my period or should I be worried and take a test

Avatar f tn t sleep whole night, started to analyze past events in my life. Even slightest possibility for contracting HIV caused anormously fears. Few days later I decided to get tested, and I did...Results were ready next day and I tested negative. I felt much better and everything was ok, but then few days later I was at the beginning of the story, worrying about kissing event and using roomate's toothbrush..

382218 tn?1341181487 An increasing body of empirical evidence now supports the association between stressful life events and relapses in MS, although this literature is of varying methodological quality and does not permit causal inferences. Furthermore, a number of studies have described alterations in the major stress response systems, such as the HPA axis and the ANS, in patients with MS.
603726 tn?1223919660 Psychological factors that influence the mental state of IBS sufferers (work stress, family or relationship stress, getting held up in a traffic jam, even the stress of planning a journey for some sufferers, or even turning out for a sporting event and certainly interviews and exams) are thought to cause chemical changes or imbalances in the brain that may in turn influence motility (the propelling of contents through the gut).
1487613 tn?1288801985 It sounds like you are suffering from depression. Inevitable life events frequently trigger what's called a 'major depressive episode'. I believe many people inherit depressive disorder and it rears it's ugly head when significant life events occur, especially the painful ones. Everyone's treatment is different but usually a combination of medication and therapy is considered the most effective. Have you ever sought treatment for depression?

Avatar f tn On 1/6/11 had a nuclear stress test. Approximately 1/24/11, I developed coldness/pain in my feet and legs. Although this condition has improved, I still suffer from cold/prickly feet which awaken me EVERY night despite two pairs heavy socks and heavy covers. Today is 3/22/11. Could this injected substance have damaged my thyroid and caused this problem? I was already on 120 mg of armour thyroid for "low thyroid" which I have taken for ten years?

Avatar f tn I had a thallium stress test a week ago. Now I'm setting off radioactive alarms at the facility where I work which is a heavily secure building. How long will the thallium remain in my body?
212161 tn?1599427282 Overall, a nuclear stress test is about 85 - 90% accurate.Your chance of a cardiac event after a normal nuclear stress test is about 1.62% per year for the next 10 years, better than a sampling of the general public. Normally, a blockage will show up once it hits approx 70% occluded. I know you read about people that have a stress test that is normal and drop dead the next day, don't get too worked up about that.
