1822306 tn?1330522629 Does everyone have a stress test before starting treatment? I am 56 and in good health, weight, and somewhat athletic. Is a stress test necessary? I am Genotype 2b; I only have to do six months SOC and was hoping to finish treatment before summer.
Avatar f tn You have to use both or its considered insurance fraud you can get in big trouble for it.
Avatar n tn He ruled out blood work to look for enzymes. He told me the CAT would require prior insurance approval and recommended nuclear stress test. Like the EKG's I am sure that nothing will show up on the stress test. Should I save the insurance co pays etc and go straight to CAT angiogram? This discussion is related to Nuclear stress test vs angiogram.
Avatar m tn I recently had a nuclear stress test with imaging and while recovering and resting on the the table my HR was coming down from 180 during Bruce level 5 to 110 and that is when my symptoms appeared. I started having PVC's here and there then bigeminy, trigeminy, couplets and as many as four to five PVC's in a row. Of course I could feel them and this lasted for 10 minutes. No intervention done at the time. No change in BP either.
Avatar f tn My doctor tried to re-certify a nuclear stress test, which my insurance company, Anthem, has denied. I realize that no test is 100% accurate, but this test could possibly save my life. My cardiologist is refusing to do a pear to peer phone consult with the insurance company with no explanation to me. What can I do?
Avatar n tn I went to see the cardio in duke when I got those positive stress test results. The dr at duke recommended the cardiac MRI, so I googled it and that is how I found more info on it. You might be able to get a cta too... I couldn't because of my anxiety and they couldn't get my heart rate down. But the MRI is just as good and doesn't ecspose you to radiation. I actually got a cardiac stress MRI, where they inject you with meds to make your heart race and that further cks for blockages.
713012 tn?1229536099 Are there any government supported insurance programs in Ca? Programs that are different than medicaid but can be obtained for little to no cost. Check online programs through local Department of Social Services. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Hi, snooks. I am just a bit older than you are...female..and Ive had PVCs for about 18 years now. 7000 PVCs seems like alot, I know...I have had more...and less. Ive had echos...actually every kind of heart test. Ive been told the same as you...everything normal except the PVCs. Ive had so many holters over the years. Ive also had several stress tests, the recent being just in July of last year. Ive had them both ways, the "simple" ones..
Avatar m tn I had an abnormal stress test last week, and I had a heart attack many years ago. My cardiologist said he thinks I should have a Heart Cath, but is leaving it up to me. He said something that was confusing to my husband and me. He said my heart performed good during the stress test but that was bad. Sounded contradictory to us.
Avatar f tn You might want to reapply for approval because I was just informed by my insurance co. that the new health care laws go into effect today which eliminates lifetime limits, pre-existing conditions, and other things that I used to have.
503607 tn?1275671579 I had my stress test today and true to form I had an anxiety attack as soon as I walked into my cardiologists office, My heart rate was at 136 without doing anything, I got it down to 117 and they started test, I did the 9 minutes without a problem got my heartrate up to 175. My blood pressure went to 208/100 too high, my cardio is going to put me on bp meds, I am so upset with myself that I allow these heart issue to upset me like this.
Avatar m tn Questioning why the doctor wants you to have a nuclear stress test verses a regular stress test. People can have an reaction to the nuclear stress test. The test is not perfect. The only true test, which is a procedure, is the angiogram. My mom had the nuclear stress test and was told that it was not bad and a few months later she was totally plugged in two main arteries and about 99 percent plugged in the other. Have you had an echocardiogram yet?
Avatar f tn Beyond annoyed. With my first pregnancy I had blue cross and it only cost $200 a month for my husband and I. And it was absolutely amazing. Now with this one we have aetna and since all the crazy healthcare act junk it cost us over $500 a month. And they don't even cover my 20 week anatomy scan. It goes towards my deductible which is extremely frustrating. Pretty angry I pay so much every month to make other people's lives easier essentially only to haveto stress about money myself.

1671473 tn?1450592437 I don't remember my last test in T4 I look all my laboratory test since march 2008, my test is more on FT4 and TSH my last test in Ft4 was oct 2011 20.66 Ft4 normal range is 11.5-23.
Avatar f tn Nor MRI was even discussed - in fact the heart catheter is the normal (in my experience) test done if the stress test is not conclusive. This has been the case fo me in past years.
Avatar n tn I have had two sets of chest xrays done and they show nothing as well. I went in for a stress test and it appeared to be "abnormal". I went in for an angiogram and the doctor assures me that my heart is in excellent shape except for a very small blockage. I continue to have the tightness in my chest and the feeling of being flush. I have a blood pressure of 100 over 60 and a pulse of 72. I have had no other problems in the past. I am at a loss as to where to go next.
862553 tn?1239060736 Of course i had the ct with my heart at rest before the stress test and then after the stress test... But am wondering what you would think is possibly going on. My maternal grandfather died because his heart actually exploded and my father himself has had bypass surgery... so there is a hitory in our family all my sibling's take meds for high blood pressure and one sister takes heart medication already ... Could you please let me knwo what your thgouhts are on this ...
Avatar f tn I have a stress test today they put me stripes in my belly to monitor the babys heart rate. They did it for 20 minutes and they said everything looks good they said if they see something weird you can be there for up to 2 hours.
Avatar m tn I have A Fib and I could not do the stress test with the treadmill so the doctor wants to give me an injection (dobuytamine hcl/250 and sestamibi(2) in order to race my heart to get it up to a certain speed and I am concerned since I have the A. Fib and take medication for it (Diltazam). Is it dangerous for me to have the test??
Avatar f tn Just went for a stress test and It came back positive for slow blood flow thru heart. They scheduled me for a nuclear stree test next week is this really necessary? The only sympton I have is some chest pain once in a while. complete exhaustion, headaches, feeling like I have no energy. Could this be all tied in.
Avatar n tn She gets sweating wlile walking app 200m distence for last 5-6 years. so her stress test was done. baseline ECG is normal. On Bruce protocol she could walk for upto 2 min on treadmill. There were no ECG changes during test, but during recovery phase she developed ST depression with T inversion in II, III, AVF , I, aVL and V2 to V6 for 10 min. She was not having chest pain at that time. She is undergoing Cor angio shortly. What is the probability that she can have Triple vessel disease?
Avatar n tn I can produce a numbert of different opinions what is the appropriate heart rate and so on with exercising. The best method for someone with a heart issue is to have a stress test. A stress test is oftened done for the purpose of learning the degree of tolerance/risk one can safely do. The rule of thumb stated is not recommended for someone who has heart issues. You will be safe to engage in exercising according to METs.
7136384 tn?1390142888 Stress test or non-stress test? During a NST they just hook you up to a monitor to keep track of baby's movements and heart rate. During a stress test they actually stimulate contractions and monitor baby's response to those contractions.
212161 tn?1599427282 hi hun no i didnt have a stress nuclear test i do really badly want one lol but the doc refuses to give me anymore cause all my others have been normal lol just get the test done, i always think its better to have a test when your having symptoms. cause if the meds are masking the symptoms then the result may not be correct? i dunno though im not a doctor....
