519122 tn?1211900014 Hi Vince, just thought I would tell you that I have been told that I have a slight heart murmur too and I passed 3 echo cardiograms,1 stress test,1 24 hour tape test, numerous ECG,s but had a myocardial profusion scan an that showed mild Ischemia or something and I'm waiting on the appointment in Sept. I was also told that a slight heart Murmur is fond in most of the population and is quite normal. cheers dude. john.
Avatar f tn I'm 18. I've had a heart murmur from birth because I was born with polysistic(?) kidney. They said it will create a disorder in something's like my heart. I'm an everyday smoker about a pack a day. I do have other problems with my body that create stress on my heart probably. I get bad anxiety also, isn't that hard on the heart..? So I'm wondering Should I be worried?
1401138 tn?1280788265 I am a 54 year old female. I have known for several years that I have a heart murmur. I saw a new doctor on Friday and she advised me that I have two heart murmurs. Is this common? Is it anything to be concerned about? I am scheduled for a stress test on Thursday. Thanks for any information.
862849 tn?1239150571 I had my ablation done twice for PSVT. They did go through my upper right chamber to my upper left chamber. They worked on my upper left chamber. I just got out of seeing a new cardiologist. He heard a heart murmur and told me he thought it was from the 2 ablations I had done (2 because they didn't catch all the extra pace makers I had in the first ablation). So now I'm getting a Echocardiogram to see how my heart is doing. I also got a stress test done, and a sleep apnea done.
Avatar f tn Yesterday I met with the primary care, and she said my heart murmur was 3/6 systolic ejection murmur. A ECG was performed, and was relatively normal, though she did notice inverted T waves, which she dismissed as "probably nothing" I have an appt. for an echo on Wednesday, but as you can imagine I am extremely nervous as to what this new diagnoses means. Doctor Goggle is definitely not helping, and is only increasing my anxiety level.
Avatar f tn It is very strong at times. I have had a stress test w/ the dye and everything was fine....I have a heart murmur( nothing serious) and also my heart gets out of rythm sometimes. I am 53 yr old female... my mother had a heart attack at the age of 60 and my brother had one at the age of 40 and then a fatal heart attackl at the age of 51.
Avatar n tn I am 62 and have a heart murmur. I had an echo 8 yrs ago and doctor said all was o.k. to exercise. The doctor I have now had for the last six years wants to do an echo every year and now wants a stress test. I am on medication for my blood pressure, but have no other symptoms. Are these tests necessary?
Avatar f tn I never had this before, It Happened few times in a month, I feel what it could an heart murmur; a turbulence around the heart area after each heartbeat, like whooshing noise, like if you were to flick one drum with a finger. It also seems that when I have this I can hear less the "dub lub" sound of the heart when beating. Happens after I exercise only, the first time that happened I was exerting quite a lot (running) as soon as I rest from the exercises, the murmur comes up.
Avatar n tn An EKG is not a good test for a heart murmur and I would suggest you have an echocardiogram to evaluate this.
Avatar f tn Most murmurs can only be heard with the assistance of a stethoscope. A murmur may be heard in a normal heart, and may not necessarily caused by a structural defect in the heart itself. Murmurs may also be the result of various problems, such as narrowing or leaking of valves, or the presence of passages between chambers of the heart. Elevated blood pressure may not be related to the murmur.
Avatar f tn No one test can diagnose heart disease. Tests to help diagnose heart disease include: electrocardiogram, stress testing, echocardiography, chest x-ray, blood tests*, electron-beam computed tomography, coronary angiography and cardiac catheterization. * Blood tests can include total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, Lp(a), Apo A1, ApoB, CRP, homocysteine, BNP, fibrinogen, blood glucose/insulin, vitamin D, testosterone, estrogen.
187666 tn?1331173345 I know I have a heart murmur, had it as long as I can remember. Recently my PCP said she thought it was getting worse. Had my echo today, very cool test and it's been 12 years since my last one. From the outside my heart is pretty standard sounding: whoosh-thump. Today with the magic of technology LOL it sounded more like flippity-snap, flippity-snap. Would they consider that a murmur or just my valves flapping around?
Avatar m tn Anyway, I went to the doctor and he had a good listen. All of the sudden he said I have a heart murmur. He seemed pretty panicky about it and actually had to get another doctor to have a listen. She confirmed I have a heart murmur. Said that she can definitely hear it. I had an ECG and blood tests all came back well except for a high voltage on my ECG. The doctor said that I should probably have a cardiologist look at me. This would involve an echo.
Avatar n tn No, it's not bad news. It's good news that this was found and that you can get it checked out. A lot of people have heart murmurs that are considered "benign;" in other words the heart murmur doesn't mean anything and won't hurt the person. The reason for you to see a cardiologist is to make sure that's all it is. Probably you will go once and not need to go back.
1165613 tn?1263003557 There are different grades of heart murmur. Yours must be very mild as is mine. If it was more severe, they would have sent you to a cardiologist somewhere along the line to have your heart checked (valves, heart size, etc.). From what you're telling me, your murmur is just something they can hear but not of great concern. The next time you have to see a doctor, you can ask how your heart murmur is doing. They'll check it to make sure it's still in the "mild" range.
Avatar f tn Yes it can. Anxiety induced heart murmur is normal and tend to be innocent. Heart murmur occurs when blood runs faster through the heart, like when you're anxious, after excersise, fever or severe anemia. But you should also let it checked because heart murmur can be a sign of significant heart disease, but it's really less like for you since it's very uncommon for young people to have it.
Avatar m tn An echocardiogram is the correct test to diagnose any valvular abnormalities of the heart. It costs about about 800 dollars, although, this cost is projected to go down. Also, if you tell you doctor that you don't have insurance they may be able to charge you less (ie what the insurance would pay for it which is always less than the actual charge of the test).
Avatar f tn My doctor found the heart murmur though the stethoscope and I have to get an echocardiogram done to makem sure it doesn't become serious.
Avatar f tn He put me on holter monitor today. I do have a echo stress test. He said I dont need a d-dimer test. But since I asked for it he is getting it done. here is the summary of the report Tachycardia during the procedure Normal Left ventricular ejection fraction No significant valvular abnormalities. Mild pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary artery systolic pressure 46mmHg.
1170671 tn?1263837053 I had an Eco-gram, passsed the stress test and T-Wave test. My results I do have a Heart mumor and mutipal skip of my Heart beat. I guess I need to learn to relax and not take my personal stress to stressful. LOL I started doing Yoga and it helps alot. Hope to hear from u guys again.
Avatar n tn I've had a murmur for decades and never experienced any heart pain.
Avatar m tn That was interesting. I've heard of innocent murmurs but never flow murmurs. I googled the term and the first site had the sound of a flow murmur available. That's just how my heart sounds but I call it my whoosh/thump. Doctors say I have a murmur but it's never been a problem and I'm 56 now. Guess they're right.
Avatar n tn Been to the cardiologist and am having a lung function test to rule out asthma and a cardiac stress test. He didn't want to do another echo as I had one last year. He mentioned anxiety as a possible but he wasn't sure until I've had the other tests. When I told my husband he just laughed and said I was the most relaxed he's seen me in years and he didn't think I was anxious at all!
