Avatar m tn I am 61, female, had a stress test & reported diagnosis is "moderate inferior ischemia". What is the explanation (definition) of this diagnosis and what are most common treatment options/choices?
Avatar n tn Under normal cirsumstances the heart recieves enough oxygen, but under stress (exercise) the oxygen demands increase and the plumbing is not up to the job.
Avatar f tn Given a stress test for heart rate irregularities. Resting rate was around 80, and bp around 110/70. Between 3-6 min on the treadmill my bp was 170/80 and heartrate was over 140. At 7-8 minutes they told me I could stop because "they had all the information they needed." They said I would have the results in a couple of days.
Avatar f tn I just had a Nuclear Stress Test. The results showed everything normal except: LV is normal, normal thickness. Overall left ventricular systolic function is normal with an EF between 60-65%. The diastolic filling pattern indicates impaired relaxation. Mitral Valve - mild mitral regurgitation. Aortic Valve is trileafiat-mild aortic valve sclerosis without stenosis. Moderate-to severe aortic regurgitation present-no evidence of aortic stenosis.
Avatar m tn the dubotomine stress test prior to the stenting said it showed positive for ischemia affecting heart wall in three places. EF was 70.19%. What was notable about this test was that I am perfectly normal at low and medium dose of the dubotamine. Maybe I should lust live like that - low and medium pulse? All the grim looking stats came at high dose with pulse at 120. That's high for an 81-year-old? It would take me a fair sprint along the road to get it up to that level.
Avatar m tn I had an abnormal stress test last week, and I had a heart attack many years ago. My cardiologist said he thinks I should have a Heart Cath, but is leaving it up to me. He said something that was confusing to my husband and me. He said my heart performed good during the stress test but that was bad. Sounded contradictory to us.
Avatar f tn I had a nuclear stress test & they found "mild ischemia in the inferior apical area" with an ejection fraction of 75%-I am symptomatic with angina and SOB & take toprol xl and imdur but still have some symptoms-what does the stress test mean in laymans terms-thanks
Avatar n tn I can produce a numbert of different opinions what is the appropriate heart rate and so on with exercising. The best method for someone with a heart issue is to have a stress test. A stress test is oftened done for the purpose of learning the degree of tolerance/risk one can safely do. The rule of thumb stated is not recommended for someone who has heart issues. You will be safe to engage in exercising according to METs.
Avatar f tn If there is doubt however, another test would normally be ordered to confirm the diagnosis. That test could be an echo, stress test, MRI, bloodanalysis.
Avatar f tn Had a stress test there is a large sized anterior walldefect extending to the apex and septal wall. There is a samll sized distal anteroapical defecdt extending to the septal wall. Small sized fixed distal anteroapical defect textending to the septal wall consistent wiht myocardial scar. What does all this mean. I an 70 year old female with family heart history.
Avatar f tn I have been experiencing angina for the past several months and I recently took a nuclear stress test. I can not see the cardiologist until next week so I am hoping you can shed some light on my diagnosis. " The patient reached a maximal heart rate of 154, which is 91% of predicted maximum. There is some thinning of the myocardium near the apex with small area of reversible activity in anteroseptal region.
Avatar f tn I am getting a nuclear stress test done on Monday. I wish that they could have done more testing at the time however the cardiologist seemed frustrated and angry, maybe not with me. I am really unsure why, actually. I'm very concerned and it will be good to get to that bottom of it. I have increased my fluid intake. Thanks for your response.
Avatar m tn I had my stress test done today and was wondering if I had a typical experience. I had the test done because I almost fainted a month ago doing cardio at the gym. The first did an EKG (lying down). I then went onto the treadmill. It started off slowly. Every 3 minutes they increased the speed and incline of the treadmill. I was supposed to get into a range of 159 to 180 bpm. I went up to a fast walk and everything was fine.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled for a nuclear stress test on july 30, and an echo. I have had an echo but was wondering what the stress test was?? Anyone with info please help??????
Avatar f tn follow up appointments measured it at 470, and 487. Exercise stress test showed prolongation of the QTc interval which got above 500 and also sudden drop in BP during cool down period of test. Genetic tests recently came back negative for the known mutations causing LQTS1-12. Other history: panic attacks since age 7 with very bad episodes after drinking caffeine, taking celexa, numbing shot at dentist, first few months after my daughter was born.
Avatar n tn I have had chest pressure and shortness if breath so was scheduled for a stress test with vasodilator,. It showed a medium to large moderate
intensity partially reversible defect involving all apical segments and
extending into true apex and the mid anteroseptum. This is larger than on
the prior study done in 2017. The defect is only partially reversible
with SDS score of 4.
Wall motion post stress is severely hypokinetic in the apex, with gated EF of 51%.
Avatar n tn An Echo Stress Test or a Nuclear Stress Test, if the doctor is suspecting coronary artery disease. However, a regular stress may be sufficient in stable patients or those with a low suspicion of coronary artery disease who are being assessed for exercise tolerance (for example, prior to undergoing a structured exercise or rehab program). If you are/were experiencing chest pains an EKG Stress test is not reliable and probably should have had a Nuclear Stress Test.
Avatar n tn Coreg is medication that helps lower the heart rate and bp. The stress test will evaluate one's physical condition a peak heart rate unmedicated, and how quickly the heart rae returns to normal within 3 minutes or so. Other phases of the test considered as well.
Avatar f tn I wonder why you had a stress test, some symptom trigger it? In my case I asked for a stress test to get a better number on what my maximum exercise HR should be. This lead to lots of additional nuclear and other tests because I couldn't pass the stress test when I in fact didn't have the main problem it checks for. Sorry if I wander... bottom line, see a cardiologist but if you don't have any serious symptoms I think you should think positive, nothing is wrong.
Avatar m tn the doctor stopped my heart stress test which took 10 to 15 minutes, due to me felling tired and sweating cold. what could be wrong?
