Avatar f tn Last week in routine tests my ecg and 2d echo came out normal but stress test was positive for inducible Ischema. I am currently on medication for anxiety and hypo for 4 months and not working on my full time job for 10 months now. Before that my stress level was so high I found it difficult to hold on to any job. Now I feel better but do have anxiety attacks when asked to drive. I stay with my parents both old and recently diagnosed with heart issues.
Avatar m tn I had a stress test done. I've been sedentary for about a year now because I've been afraid of provoking my SVT. I've been getting feelings of skipped beats so my doctor had me do an exercise tolerance test. I was only on the treadmill for a couple minutes when I reached my target heart rate. The tech had me keep going and sped up the treadmill. I felt fine. My heart rate reached into the mid to upper 170's. I felt a skipped beat and saw it on the monitor.
Avatar f tn When using EKG and blood pressure monitoring alone the test is variously called a cardiac stress test, exercise stress test, exercise treadmill test, exercise tolerance test, stress test or exercise ECG test. Heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, EKG, and how tired you feel are monitored during the test.
Avatar n tn If you gooogle the Holmes and Rahl scale, it will show 43 events that causes stress. If you add up what has occured in the past year, it may determine the need for coping skills before illness will occur. One year, I had about 6-8 different life changing events happen which led to my anxiety issues including memory loss and loss of appetite.
Avatar n tn My last period was 8 weeks ago I went through a breakup and had a lot of really big events happen in my life is it possible that all the stress and anxieties from all these events have delayed my period or should I be worried and take a test
Avatar f tn t sleep whole night, started to analyze past events in my life. Even slightest possibility for contracting HIV caused anormously fears. Few days later I decided to get tested, and I did...Results were ready next day and I tested negative. I felt much better and everything was ok, but then few days later I was at the beginning of the story, worrying about kissing event and using roomate's toothbrush..
Avatar m tn As you know, other than for cold sores, you are not at risk for any STD from kissing. As far as HSV-1 infection and risk is concerned, again your risk is tiny. While about 60% of adults have HSV (most of whom are unaware that they have the infection), in the absence of observed lesions transmission occurs no more than 1 in every 10,000 exposures and probably less. Thus: 1. Unless you have already been tested there is a better than 50/50 chance that you already have HSV-1.
Avatar f tn Hi.....I am so nervous and anxious for my stress test tomorrow. I'm getting some anxiety sensations because I'm scared to feel weak and chest pain while doing the stress test. My doctor had ordered out this stress test to figure out the fact that I had about 2-3 episodes of Supraventricular Tachycardia in less than 6 mos. to a year. My doctor at first thought it was because of low potassium levels, but was able to rule that out after the 3rd episode.
Avatar m tn I have had a few anxiety attacks and was pretty stressed at the time. We were moving to Las Vegas for my job promotion and I thought the stress of my new life events caused the chest pain and heart palpitations. With this came the fact that I may suddenly pass away and leave my wife and young children alone. This only made my anxiety worse! After two trips to ER which turned out to be really bad anxiety attacks, I decided to see a cardiologist.
Avatar m tn After lying down it seems to alleviate it. I went back to cardiologist and had blood work and nuclear stress test done, which all came up negative. it has been 6 weeks and I continue to have this chest pain several times throughout the day. Should I go back to the cardiologist for another angiogram?

Avatar f tn I find that if I go to too many events, I'm just wiped out the next day so Continue to go to the ones that are important to you, plan on taking a nap before or being a little more tired later but definitely keep doing the things you love to do and connecting with your friends and colleagues is my advice
382218 tn?1341181487 An increasing body of empirical evidence now supports the association between stressful life events and relapses in MS, although this literature is of varying methodological quality and does not permit causal inferences. Furthermore, a number of studies have described alterations in the major stress response systems, such as the HPA axis and the ANS, in patients with MS.
Avatar m tn Depression is not easy, and yes, there is such a thing as situational depression. It seems to me that you may have a low threshold for handling stress in good or bad siutations, and that can include relationships.
1487613 tn?1288801985 It sounds like you are suffering from depression. Inevitable life events frequently trigger what's called a 'major depressive episode'. I believe many people inherit depressive disorder and it rears it's ugly head when significant life events occur, especially the painful ones. Everyone's treatment is different but usually a combination of medication and therapy is considered the most effective. Have you ever sought treatment for depression?
603726 tn?1223919660 Psychological factors that influence the mental state of IBS sufferers (work stress, family or relationship stress, getting held up in a traffic jam, even the stress of planning a journey for some sufferers, or even turning out for a sporting event and certainly interviews and exams) are thought to cause chemical changes or imbalances in the brain that may in turn influence motility (the propelling of contents through the gut).

Avatar f tn On 1/6/11 had a nuclear stress test. Approximately 1/24/11, I developed coldness/pain in my feet and legs. Although this condition has improved, I still suffer from cold/prickly feet which awaken me EVERY night despite two pairs heavy socks and heavy covers. Today is 3/22/11. Could this injected substance have damaged my thyroid and caused this problem? I was already on 120 mg of armour thyroid for "low thyroid" which I have taken for ten years?
Avatar f tn I'm 24, I went for a runtine cholesterol blood test. The doctor said he would test for iron and I think folate levels. When I got my results he said that my iron levels and others (he mentioned kidney) were great. Does anyone know the list of things he would of tested for? Would he be testing for thyroid as well, and all other Vitimins? Also, I have mild high cholesterol, (on a diet now to get down.
