Avatar m tn After my first a-fib episode they had me do the stress test and they advised they are prepared for anything, You need to trust your cardiologist. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn I had a thallium stress test a week ago. Now I'm setting off radioactive alarms at the facility where I work which is a heavily secure building. How long will the thallium remain in my body?
212161 tn?1599427282 Overall, a nuclear stress test is about 85 - 90% accurate.Your chance of a cardiac event after a normal nuclear stress test is about 1.62% per year for the next 10 years, better than a sampling of the general public. Normally, a blockage will show up once it hits approx 70% occluded. I know you read about people that have a stress test that is normal and drop dead the next day, don't get too worked up about that.
Avatar f tn im so sorry about all that has happened and your parents, life can be unfair that is for sure. you have to believe that maybe there are great things to happen soon and it will be glorious for all, that is my wish for you anyway. i follow you every chance i get, a cyber stalker i ;guess lol. you are such a beautiful person that i cant imagine you not having exceptional things happen. i just had to say that..
Avatar f tn I was recently told by OB that I tested positive for the HSV 2 antibody because I am 36 weeks pregnant. My OB perfomed a blood test in January of this year but never told me my results until they casually prescribed Valtrex for me, to prepare for birth and I asked why. I have never had an outbreak of sores or blisters. When I asked what my range was they told me 4.5. Should I accept that as a definate positive result??
Avatar f tn You can use a drugstore test or call the courts in your area who do family law and ask for the name of a local lab. Keep in mind that a drugstore test does not carry legal authority such that you could use it in filing for child support, you would need a test from a lab.
Avatar n tn THANKS FOR THE INFO.IT WAS SCARY.THE IMAGING RESULTS SAY A SMALL AREA OF INFEROSEPTAL ISCHEMIA AND A SMALL TO MODERATE AREA OF SUPERIMPOSED INFEROSEPTAL AND INFERIOR INFARCT NOTED.DO YOU THINK THEY WILL COME AT ME WITH STENTS OR MEDS.?DO YOU KNOW WHAT ANY OF THAT MEANS?
Avatar f tn This means that a portion of your heart showed a diminished area of blood flow during the stress part of your test. Was your stress test a Thallium of Myoview stress test? These are much more accurate in detecting heart disease than a normal stress test. If the area has a diminished blood flow with no cell damage it means you most likely have not suffered a heart attack and the area can be opened with a stent, a very common procedure these days.
Avatar f tn Hi.....I am so nervous and anxious for my stress test tomorrow. I'm getting some anxiety sensations because I'm scared to feel weak and chest pain while doing the stress test. My doctor had ordered out this stress test to figure out the fact that I had about 2-3 episodes of Supraventricular Tachycardia in less than 6 mos. to a year. My doctor at first thought it was because of low potassium levels, but was able to rule that out after the 3rd episode.
471949 tn?1236904026 Being dizzy after a stress test is the norm for everyone. The doctor sent you home on a Holter to see if there are any other SVT or arrhythmia problems. It is absolutely correct that a doctor should be in the room during any stress test, because anything can happen.
Avatar f tn I have 2 do a non stress test evry week 2...cuz I have a 2 vessel cord..but mone takes less than an hr..it would b awful having 2 stay for 5 hrs!..hownr u spose 2 live ur life..lol...were u hooked up 2 the machines the whole time??.or did they make u wait for a.long time??..im sorry..
Avatar n tn You do need to get back with the cardio and get an explanation of a one minute stress test terminated at heart rate of 144. You do not state how you felt at the time of the test termination. You are still not out very far from your heart attack; I'd go back and get some guidance.Let us know. Joan.
Avatar n tn when you get your neg result ,im sure you will be a help to this forum about telling what stress can do. . im sorry im so scared, cause i know im pos. and when i test pos, i am going to be mad at everyone for telling me that the three month was ok. it did get me through each day though.
11849443 tn?1441302841 If they were only looking for arrhythmia they would only do the stress test but generally the stress echo is done to rule out heart disease so the doctor can safely say that any symptoms you are having are benign, regardless if they are able to catch or diagnose what those symptoms are. When people complain of heart symptoms the rule is to verify that the heart is structurally normal and then from there what actions need or don't need to be taken.
765802 tn?1263300851 ve been having chest pains for a while still after the stint was put in. So I guess it was good she did this test. But for blockages I 'm not sure how bad they are, except what I read here you all say they have to be over 70%? My doctor was concern about me taking my med's / I assured her I have been taking them All not aloud to run out no matter what!!!
Avatar n tn I can produce a numbert of different opinions what is the appropriate heart rate and so on with exercising. The best method for someone with a heart issue is to have a stress test. A stress test is oftened done for the purpose of learning the degree of tolerance/risk one can safely do. The rule of thumb stated is not recommended for someone who has heart issues. You will be safe to engage in exercising according to METs.
Avatar m tn and one other thing if there was something wrong with my heart would it have shown during the stress test?
Avatar n tn Had a nuclear treadmill stress test done while taking the test the whole time the nurse held me up from behind 2 hands on back because i stated i had back problems and as soon as test started she began this procere is this comman practice?
Avatar n tn thankyou for responding, yes had the test reached my target heart rate , but didnt feel like i had exerted myself enough to give my heart a real test, thankfully nothing showed, but wish i had some answers to the chest pain that goes down my left arm, and cardioligist says its nothing, well its not nothing its very disturbing actually put me on lipitor as bad cholestrol is 7 oh well if i cark it least i know nothing was wrong..
Avatar n tn My doctor has ordered a non stress test for me if I go over my due date. I think they just want to make sure that the baby is doing well because the placenta starts to age at the end of pregnancy so they monitor the baby's heart rate for a bit to make sure the baby is getting enough nutrients and oxygen, I think it's routine.
1822306 tn?1330522629 I have had all bloodwork, sonogram, and biopsy. The nurse forgot to make an apt last month for a stress test the Hepa ordered so now it will be another month before the Cardiologist can see me. My question is: Does everyone have a stress test before starting treatment? I am 56 and in good health, weight, and somewhat athletic. Is a stress test necessary? I am Genotype 2b; I only have to do six months SOC and was hoping to finish treatment before summer.
Avatar f tn Do they do stress test for everyone? If so when do they do it?
Avatar n tn I have had two sets of chest xrays done and they show nothing as well. I went in for a stress test and it appeared to be "abnormal". I went in for an angiogram and the doctor assures me that my heart is in excellent shape except for a very small blockage. I continue to have the tightness in my chest and the feeling of being flush. I have a blood pressure of 100 over 60 and a pulse of 72. I have had no other problems in the past. I am at a loss as to where to go next.
