Could you please let me knwo what your thgouhts are on this ...
Avatar n tn I've just had a SPECT stress test. The cardiologist report stated that I have apical ischemia. The size is small, the severity is mild and the reversibility is partical. I'm a 51 year old female ~ on the tread mill for 8+ miniutes, at 172 HR (100%). I'll be speaking to my cardiologist. How serious is this? It doesn't sound so bad?? The only other peice is that I've got a heavy feeling on my chest - not always and not painful.
Avatar n tn 1 without fatigue and chest pain. I am able to do 7 METs for a half hour without a problem...sometimes I need nitro.
Avatar n tn She gets sweating wlile walking app 200m distence for last 5-6 years. so her stress test was done. baseline ECG is normal. On Bruce protocol she could walk for upto 2 min on treadmill. There were no ECG changes during test, but during recovery phase she developed ST depression with T inversion in II, III, AVF , I, aVL and V2 to V6 for 10 min. She was not having chest pain at that time. She is undergoing Cor angio shortly. What is the probability that she can have Triple vessel disease?
Avatar f tn I had similar results 3 yrs ago except I also experienced severe laft arm pain and chest pain, so excrusiating I thought I was checking out! They said it was reaction to the adesonine they used, but when I got copies of my records it said "Inconclusive" test. Sometime I dont think they want us to know if something is wrong!
Avatar f tn I recently had an abnormal EKG that showed a LBBB. I was sent for a Lexiscan stress test and this was the conclusion: Calculated post stress LVEF 51%. There was a medium sized mild to moderate, fixed defect in the basal anteroseptal, mid anteroseptal, apical anterior, apical septal, apex segments.
Avatar n tn Negative for chest pain, mildly positive for ischemic ECG changes, and negative for significant arrhythmia. LV and RV uptake and size is normal. No evidence for transient ischemic dilation. Measured ejection fraction is 72%. In summary: imaging shows a small area of possible myocardial ischemia versus shifting breast tissue attenuation artifact. These abnormalities are in the distribution of the left descending artery.
Avatar m tn m a 44 year old female going through quite a journey with chest pain over last 6 weeks. Thought it was indigestion due to brufen used for painful knee after swimming for 2 weeks then got SOB and severe pain at work (paediatric nurse). ECG showed slight ST depression, dobutamine stress echo showed 3 segment ischaemia at apex and angio showed normal coronary arteries but small vessel disease.
Avatar n tn An EKG test would be the test for heart rhythm disorder. The test can also give some insight into whether there is any ischemia (lack of blood flow) to heart cells and that can cause your chest pain, etc. If there is ischemia a stress test with perfussion can help show any blocked vessels that cause your symptoms. It seems reasonable based on your symptoms that you should see your doctor as the symptoms expressed can be very serious and harmful...
Avatar f tn I had the stress test done before my surgery. I could not cross the street without getting out of breath and having chest pain. I was unable to complete the test on the treadmill so they gave me drugs to increase my heart rate so that I could complete the test. You can ask them about it before you have the test.
Avatar f tn They decided to do a exercise stress test, which I did and the dr said it was positive. He then chose to do a echo stress test since he thought the first test may have been a false positive. The stress echo was totally normal and they sent me home from the hospital and told me I was fine. They even said I could start an exercise program I was looking at. My problem is I still am having very non specific chest pain and arm pain. It is sometimes in both my arms and sometimes in my armpits.
Avatar f tn They ran echo, ekg, Ct of chest and nuclear stress. The images in the nuclear stress test did not match. The Dr said that they isotopes did not go to the front of my chest but he did not know why. He said it did not show a blockage. He told me to go home, take it easy and follow up in his office in a few weeks. He said he was unsettled that it they did not match. I am at a loss, leaving the hospital with chest pain and an abnormal nuclear stress test is unsettleing. Any advice or thoughts?
Avatar n tn i was recently in the hospital, my blood pressure was very high, and i was having pain in my chest and my back left shoulder after running every test except the stress test, they said they could find nothing at all wrong. just got my blood pressure regulated with medication, and sent me home. the doctor however, still wants to run a stress test on me. question: can a stress test reveal something that the other tests did not?
Avatar f tn I made it to the Cardiologist and they did another ekg and that was also fine. He told me that he does not suspect anything but he scheduled me for a stress test for next week. Did I possibly have a panic or anxiety attack?
Avatar n tn I have had two sets of chest xrays done and they show nothing as well. I went in for a stress test and it appeared to be "abnormal". I went in for an angiogram and the doctor assures me that my heart is in excellent shape except for a very small blockage. I continue to have the tightness in my chest and the feeling of being flush. I have a blood pressure of 100 over 60 and a pulse of 72. I have had no other problems in the past. I am at a loss as to where to go next.
Avatar m tn Did you finish the test (treadmill)? Chest pain during a stress test usually indicates some coronary artery blockage. Shortness of breath could be a low cardiac output due weak heart contraction or not physically fit as well as a respiratory disorder. You may have to wait until you are told the results of the test and evaluation by your doctor.
Avatar n tn You stress test was about 65% to 70% accurate for diagnosing heart disease. Your echo would have shown any abnormalities of your heart structure or function. If both were normal you should be fine. Having said that, If you have chest pain go get it checked out.
Avatar f tn I have uncontrolled hypertension and began having nagging ache in my left arm, and occasional pain in my upper back, and ocaasional discomfort in my chest...so I had a thallium stress test...during the period in the test when they sent me home for a couple of hours and told me to return later, I had severe pain in both arms, was nauseated, and slept until time to go back...i told them about it, but they were not concerned...when i got the reults of the test, it wa normal...
Avatar n tn blood test (hepatitis, h pylori), EKG, gall bladder/liver function, echo cardio/stress are all normal. I have been treated with arthritis medication for costocondritis and been perscribed both prilocec and nexium with no help. Pain is not constant and is not consistent (may be in am or pm; does not seem to appear after consuming certain food), doesn't worsen when I lie/breathe deeply, etc. Any clue?
Avatar m tn The stress test was stopped while monitoring your system and that almost always indicates there is evidence of ischemia (lack of adequate blood flow) and may be the result of vessel occlusion, and sometime it is evidence of an old heart attack The test is not very reliable for the conditions named, however, it is considered unsafe to continue without the possibility of injury. If you felt a little pressure in the chest that would be additional evidence for some blockage.
Avatar m tn I had a tread mill stress test and a nuclear stress test. Briefly, the results were: 1) reached 100% target heart rate, no chest pains, no arrhythmia 2) LVEF is 56% 3) moderate size inferior ischemia 4) ECG is positive for ischemia at a good workload (143 heart rate). I have formed a preliminary impression from my research on the Internet, but would appreciate feedback on the above 4 items. I havel scheduled a heart catherterization. Thank you.
Avatar m tn This is a reasonable option if you are not continuing to have chest pain, not having worsening chest pain, not having new/concerning symptoms. I would also take it easy until the procedure can be done (no heavy lifting, exercising, minimize stress, keep your blood pressure well-controlled). 2. If you are able, see if you can get it done more quickly at another institution or call your doctor and see if they can schedule you more quickly.
