Stress test electrode placement

Common Questions and Answers about Stress test electrode placement

Avatar n tn the standard of care would direct non-stand placement. Any alteration of electrode placement must be documented and serial ECG's should have electrodes placed in the same locations if at all possible. This would make comparison tracings more meaningful clinically. Bottom line is to check with your facility policy and follow the local standard of care.
Avatar n tn It could be that the electrodes were not adhered properly and air was between them or it could indicate that there is heart or lung disease. Who did the test? Did they repeat it and get the same results? Do you have other symptoms? What prompted the test in the first place? If this wasn't from an error in electrode placement I would suspect further testing of the heart and lungs would be in order if the results persist.
Avatar m tn EKGs are very useful tools for evaluating heart function, but yes, false positives can happen for a variety of reasons: Things like electrode placement and even a person's individual anatomy. If you have a question about your EKG, call your doctor and tell him/her that you're worried and need an explanation.
Avatar f tn s then that is when I would be more concerned.did they put you on any meds for the Ischemia? Are they doing a Cardiac stress test?
Avatar m tn Was it just movement or electrode placement? Or do I need to go back there? I have no pain or anything of the sort but I feel extremely fatigued and I can't afford another visit if it isn't of any concern. I have no diagnosed diseases but I am 270+ lbs Any thoughts help, thanks.
Avatar f tn much depends on electrode placement, and there are other factors. Frankly, when it comes to reading an iffy EKG, I'd recommend going to a trained cardiologist to get a very sophisticated opinion.
Avatar f tn The doctor who ordered the unit for you should be able to advise you on electrode placement. My personal experience with a TENS unit was either really good or it was useless. You don't know until you give it a try. My doctor started me out with recommended placement but also said to try moving the leads around to see what might work the best. It's not that you'll hurt yourself but more that it may be more effective depending on placement.
Avatar f tn There is a procedure, an EMG, where a needle electrode is inserted through the skin into the muscle. The electrical activity detected by this electrode is displayed on an oscilloscope (monitor), and may be heard through a speaker. After placement of the electrodes, your dad may be asked to contract the muscle (for example, by bending your arm).
Avatar m tn Others are hematomas( subcutaneous or epidural), cerebrospinal fluid leak, post dural puncture headache, discomfort at pulse generator site, seroma, transient paraplegia. Electrode migration, fractured electrodes and rotation of pulse generator are also noted. You need to confirm with your neurosurgeon about the correct placement of the device to avoid all these scenarios. Take care.
Avatar n tn hello got a stent 2months ago for 100% mid-lad blockage. nuclear stress test prior to intervention noted 'large inferior apical wall perfusion defect most consistent w/ diaphragmatic attenuation artifact'. exercise was good, ef was 56% and my symptoms overall were mild.
Avatar n tn You do need to get back with the cardio and get an explanation of a one minute stress test terminated at heart rate of 144. You do not state how you felt at the time of the test termination. You are still not out very far from your heart attack; I'd go back and get some guidance.Let us know. Joan.
Avatar m tn Usually this will permanately fix the problem with the conduction of the heart. If all other tests such as Echocardiogram and stress test are normal, then he should have full recovery. Also he should quit smoking and drinking, as this is hard on the heart, lungs and liver.
Avatar f tn Repeat Angiograms Re: Oct 11, 2008 09:11AM in the Interventional Cardiology Expert Forum I had a stress test, blood work, EKg's basically every test. All my test passed. They just wanted to do an Angiogram to see if there were any problems. That is when they found the blockages. My Dr,s were shocked to find them. I had 1 stent put in, and an Angioplasty in the other due to I need a 2 mm stent that is drug eluding, but it is currently not availiab...
Avatar m tn it all depends on your condtion and your cardioligst you may have a followup in 6months and do a stress test and echo to see if everything is still going well.
Avatar n tn I had the same reaction to the stress test pads. Scared the bees out of me!! Its been two weeks and the dark patches seem to be getting darker. I really don't know what to do about them. Are yours fading?
20826743 tn?1525485251 Can I be planted this possible micro-electrode array without I noticed? Q2. Will this micro-electrode array results about 12V potential to brain cell from GPS signal in a range of 2 dB to 40 dB? Q3. Can this cause a brain damage and possible results in stroke? Thanks for yours professional advice to these three questions. I can send the brain scan image if you provide yours contract information on the reply post.
255732 tn?1318517822 If there is an injection as your post suggests, that would indicate the test includes an assessment of the vessels and how well the blood flows through the vessels with exertion (stress test)...not necessary for an analysis of valve integrity.
Avatar f tn I recently had to switch doctors due to moving to a new state and had an issue with the pain meds not showing up in my urine test and getting dismissed. I dont even know how thats possible since I've been on them for 2 years but oh well i was not give the opportunity to ask this or request another test just a letter stating had been dismissed. Found a new doctor and told her I was open to non narcotic pain treatments and was given a tens unit and a back brace.
Avatar n tn In my case, I had either improperly place the electrode, or the electrode was not getting good conduction with my skin. In other words the "artifacts" were not being generated by my heart, but I guess could be called static on the recording. I also made sure that if I had an event, I paused or sat still hoping to insure a good recording.
Avatar n tn Neurologist is the answer. He/ she can test you. If you don't get any results what is causing it , go to a homeopath that does electrode accupuncture. They are you best bet.
Avatar f tn You experienced these pains after an EKG, so if something was wrong your doctor would have seen it. Electrode placement for an EKG is across your chest and on the intercostals on your side. If the technician pressed too hard when applying the electrodes, the muscles between the ribs could be aggrevated. Rib injuries are very painful. If the pain continues, go back to your doctor, and explain only the pain you are feeling, such as. "I have occasional sharp twinges of pain right here.
Avatar m tn thanks! btw, is it supposed to have kinda wet stuff coming from the black button inside?
