An Echo Stress Test or a Nuclear Stress Test, if the doctor is suspecting coronary artery disease. However, a regular stress may be sufficient in stable patients or those with a low suspicion of coronary artery disease who are being assessed for exercise tolerance (for example, prior to undergoing a structured exercise or rehab program). If you are/were experiencing chest pains an EKG Stress test is not reliable and probably should have had a Nuclear Stress Test.
I had an abnormal stress test last week, and I had a heart attack many years ago. My cardiologist said he thinks I should have a Heart Cath, but is leaving it up to me. He said something that was confusing to my husband and me. He said my heart performed good during the stress test but that was bad. Sounded contradictory to us.

When i exercise I get the burping and buring bad, but tehn that goes with GERD which I have so who knows. Myabve I will ahve another stress test. My last ekg he said was abnormal cause it should low voltage but I read that can be from large breast and thyroid issues, which he just took me off my thryoid that I was on for over two years cause it was raising my blood presssure, who knows. I am confused for sure!
Went to family physician who was concerned and suggested nuclear stress test or CAT angiogram and gave me a choice. He ruled out blood work to look for enzymes. He told me the CAT would require prior insurance approval and recommended nuclear stress test. Like the EKG's I am sure that nothing will show up on the stress test. Should I save the insurance co pays etc and go straight to CAT angiogram?

A normal nuclear stress test will not show blood flow through the carotid arteries of the neck. In general, a nuclear stress test accuracy rate is 85% to 90% for CAD in your heart.
For the carotid arteries, the first test is usually an ultrasound, then an MRI or CT scan and the final test would be an angiogram.
Congrats! Now, was it really as bad as you thought it would be? Seriously, this is good news. You do want to stay on top of you symptoms, but this is a good place to start. Don't you feel better now that you know? Isn't better than the constant worry? The accuracy of a nuclear stress test is 85% but the specificity is 97% meaning that they find significant CAD 97% of the time in individuals with CAD.
Do as your doctor suggests and you will do great!
Good afternoon, I HiV test (c. Anti-HIV1 / 2 + Ag p24) after 38 days of the relationship was negative ... I can rest assured? or should I do the new test?

Stress and anxiety.Your HIV test was conclusive and final,you don't have HIV.If the weakness continues see your doctor.
Can you tell me if these symptoms are consistant with a truley abnormal nuclear stress..involving the LAD outflow and mid anterior chest wall..... fatigue, breathlessness, palpitations, lightheaded and nauseated spells. My nuc. test showed that but CTA came up clean as a whistle. Now I'm afraid something was missed. after all, something is causing my symptoms...What should I do? Go for a cath, get a cardiac MRI to look for small vessel disease, or look somewhere else?
