Common Questions and Answers about Stress symptoms tongue

stress

I have been experiencing a metallic taste in my mouth and heartburn. I think it is stress related. I also have been brushing my tongue with my toothbrush. Is it possible that my stress is causing this? Or brushing my tongue? My exposure was 30 to 60 seconds at most.
You cannot know you have thrush of the tongue without a professional exam; most white coating of the tongue is not thrush. To answer your specific questions: 1) Not HIV or any other STD. Perhaps mostly stress/anxiety. 2) Who knows? Everybody gets a white-coated tongue from time to time. Sometimes it is unexplained, other times it might be related to a viral infection, such as a cold virus. It almost never is a sign of a serious health problem. 3) I doubt it.
I noticed that I was getting spots on the tongue where the papillae (small bumps on the tongue) were missing resulting in smooth patches on the tongue. I went to the doctor and he seemed more interested in explaining why it was called geographic tongue - because the patches look like countries.
Have been under immense amount of stress and anxiety since middle of october and symptoms are freaking me out, please advise.
Also on the very back of the tongue it is some what white in most people, this is normal. Stress causes tongue symptoms as well.
Fasciculation’s and atrophy are signs of lower motor neuron lesions. Unilateral tongue weakness causes the tongue to deviate toward the weak side. Tongue weakness can result from lesions of the tongue muscles, the neuromuscular junction, the lower motor neurons of the nerve supplying the tongue (CN XII), or the upper motor neurons originating in the motor cortex. Lesions of the motor cortex cause opposite side tongue weakness.
Unlikely that stress can trigger a geographical tongue.
Hello, my symptoms are as follows, Dry Mouth(especially early in the morning) but definitely producing significantly less saliva than usual, maybe 40 to 50 percent less for last 6 weeks. White Coating on tongue, not sure whether it is thrush or not for 5 weeks. Ranula cyst on floor of the mouth. And palpable tender submandibular on right side of jaw for last week.
Twitches any where in the body are a very common symptom and are usually benign and do not signify any serious underlying disorder. The symptoms worsen with stress, sleep deprivation, caffeine and anxiety. Treatment is aimed at controlling stress, reducing caffeine intake, exercising and adequate sleep. In most cases symptoms resolve spontaneously. Sometimes twitching can be because of underlying metabolic changes.
I have sore tongue, headache ( maybe stress), and constant itchiness. No other current syptoms other than constantly look flushed, not yellow though. I kissed and gave brief oral to a guy (gay), no pre *** or ejaculation. I have had clear tests for HIV and EBV, Are my symptoms suggesting I got Hep? and is likliehood transmission via Saliva. My partner is displaying similar syptoms and awaiting some test results. Should I activly request Hep testing?

Now, I have started slight tingling again in my fingertips (both hands) and my tongue. It is on and off. I have had no major anxiety or stress. Nothing additional in my life to cause this as far as I know. I am wondering if this reoccurance, even though it is so mild, could be related to something neurological. I have been told very clearly by neuros that it is not. But, I want to know your opinions.
You had protected sex and you didn't need to test. See your doctor for the symptoms you are having. There is no way your symptoms are related to HIV unless there is some real risk you have had.
I had withdraw symptoms for almost four months before I no longer noticed any symptoms. But all of the symptoms were tolerable and there was no possibility that smoking was masking anything more serious. Almost two months ago I quit drinking cold turkey. The last month of my drinking consisted of; I would start between 10:30am - 12 noon and continue until about 6 pm, I would then continue again from about 10:30pm to 11:30pm. Yep, a lot of drinking.

Ok so I should not talk about symptoms, but I am going to . Past 5 weeks sore throat transitioning to swollen glands in the neck. Gingivitus and white tongue on going. I have tried to control the gingivitus which came in at week 3 and is still with me. Does anyone know of a good way of controlling this kind of symptom, pill lotion, mouthwash. I am using a product called Corsodyl. Is there anything else to use? There are more symptoms, but these are the ones that bother me the most.
There are other pain relievers used in cats such as buprenorphone or butorphanol which have different side effects but are options as well. Could the flare ups be caused by stress? Stress is hard to define in a cat. Physical? Emotional? Immunologic? They may be, but you wont be able to determine how to address stress directly. Do you believe that this ulcer had anything to do with the teeth extractions? It may be if root fragments were left behind after the extractions.
Does anyone know anything about geographic tongue and/or denuded patches on the tongue. I have shown it to 2 doctors (neither are specifically oral surgeons); neither thought much of it (nor any of my 'symptoms'). It's not thrush. It seems like it flares up and then by the time I get to the doc (several days later) it's just a 'minor tongue irritation' (one said people lose papillae all the time). There aren't really the characteristics thick, raised white borders. Does this mean it's not geo.
Hairy tongue (9 months) diarrhea (9 months) Burping and flatulence ( 4 months) Doc says it will just go away. I requested a HIV test and the results seem to have been lost. I will have to go back for another test. I was treated with nystatin for one month but it did nothing. I have excellent hygiene. clean my tongue very thoroughly twice a day. Hair never goes away. It is all over the top of my tongue not patchy. I have tried baking soda, vinegar, probiotics, lemon, oil pull, peppermint.
Three weeks after, after some stress i noticed white circles on my tongue tip that was diagnosed as geographic tongue. I did not have a any other symptoms other than some acne on my chest. However, medic said that is from shaving chest and wearing a bullet proof vest. I had an HIV test at 4 weeks. And several oraquick home tests at 5, 7, 9, and 10 weeks. Keep in mind i am deployed in a part of the world where HIV is fairly higher than back home in the US.
My tongue turned white and slightly blue right before my eyes about 3 weeks ago. It was very alarming. The doctor said it was a panic attack. I feel as if I have a nerve or something pinched in the back of my neck/head. My tongue has turned white/blue since as I have become very anxious over this event. I feel my neck and shoulders tighten and experience a cold feeling in the back of my head and into my face.
Coated tongue Etc etc etc etc is not a reliable sign of HIV all symptoms youve been worriend about or which you google on the internet are not a reliable source for diagnosing HIV. only a test could determine your real Status. so please RELAX !. according to CDC average seroconversion for people to test + is 22 days so most people will test positive on 4 - 6 weeks after infection.
THE THING IS THE SPOTS THAT COME AND GO BUT NEVER GO AWAY ARE PAINFULLY FRUSTRATING AND ARE NOT MOVING AROUND ALL OVER MY TONGUE LIKE ALL THE INFORMATION I HAVE RESEARCHED ABOUT GEOGRAFIC TONGUE. MY PROBLEM IS ALWAYS FOCUSED ONLY ON THE AREA OF TONGUE BURNED BY THE CANDY. I PERSONALLY FEEL THAT THE TONGUE HAS BEEN DAMAGED IN A SPECIFIC AREA AND ANYTIME I EAT SOMTHING THAT I MAY BE SENSATIVE TOO IT TRIGGERS AN OUTBREAK OF THESE SPOTS TO APPEAR.
However, this also could be due to a lack of B vitamins, now, don't laugh, if you do not get enough of the B vitamins, one of the symptoms is a sore tongue, and if left untreated by not taking them, it can get worse. I would try taking a good, food grade B vitamin complex, also, get some Brewers yeast, it can be obtained at any health food store, this is chock full of all the B vitamins, amino acids and other important nutrients and minerals. It taste good too, I love it on cottage cheese.
Get your kidney function, parathyroid gland function and adrenal function tests done because these affect the electrolyte balance in the body. Stress, alcohol, caffeine and fatigue all cause similar symptoms. Hence if you take alcohol or coffee then cut this down. Sleep at regular hours and see if it helps. Certain sleep disorders and peripheral nerve disorders due to diabetes or hypothyroidism can also be the cause. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!

- white tongue (usualy gets better after lunch but it gets white afterwards) - painful raised taste buds in the tip/border (the pain is random, not constant) - excessive saliva - swollen tongue (teeth marks in the border can be noticed) do you know the status of the girl who gave you fellatio? did your oral swab test checked yeast AND bacteria? did you have other tests (complete blood count, etc)?
I too feel like my tongue and throat muscles are not working properly. I am a 25 year old female and my only symptoms are a slight weakness in my left hand, a sore tongue sometimes and some muscle and joint pain sporadically. I too have problems with anxiety so I really pray that all this stems from that. I don't have the courage to get the EMG done, because I am terrified of finding out I have this horrible disease.
white tongue teeths mark in the border (swollen tongue) raised taste buds in the tip/border of the tongue (with random pain) excessive saliva I have these symptoms since June 2012. I am writing this in March 2013. No improvement in any of these 4 things. I have been tested for HIV 5 times. Also tested for several other things (read my journal for more info) All this is very suspicious and I think my tongue problems are related to that sex encounter.
Relax. I'm sorry you were treated so shabbily and I know it doesn't feel good. But the chance you got HIV is very low. More important, symptoms simply do not matter and yours mean absolutely nothing. Only the test results matter, and yours are negative. (For innumerable discussions about symptoms, search the archives and threads for "HIV symptoms" and "ARS symptoms".) Your negative test result at 8 weeks PROVE you do not have HIV; you don't need a 3 month test.
