Common Questions and Answers about Stress symptoms dogs

Avatar f tn I have a few dogs who decided to gang up on my 1 yr old cockatiel today. I do not see any serious damage to him just looks like a few lost feathers. He is really shook up though. Very nervous and quiet, which is very unusual for him, but I'm sure to be expected at first. Do birds experience post traumatic stress and is there anything we can do to help him get over the experience? And wilI he ever go back to his normal behavior?
Avatar f tn Can dogs sense labour is coming? My dogs been like a bloody shadow tonight locking my belly and following me everywhere....
Avatar f tn A recent one would be my cat ran away after some moving and finally getting him and my aunt (lives with me) to the new home and 10 minutes later he got out from the stress and he’s gone again. After that I’ve been waking up dizzy and sometimes I’d feel a headrush as if blood flowed down out of my head in a cooling sensation when I wake up. I’m wondering what it could be and if it’s only stress induced or another anxiety issue.
Avatar n tn Hi, Please bring your senior dog to the vet for bloodwork. The symptoms you have mentioned, along with the dogs age, remind me of the same thing that my 15 year old yorkie was doing. She was diagnosed with kidney disease. Decreased appetite and trembling are both signs of kidney failure. Your dog may or may not have kidney issues, but the trembling, (shaking) you are describing, is a sign of pain or discomfort. Your dog really needs to be evaluated by a vet.
Avatar m tn congratulations on 16 days...sorry you lost your partner....but he/she is smiling down on you today...and sending you love from heaven above...and the great thing about dogs is you can tell them anything..everything and they don't blab ....you've got a friend in bama.
Avatar n tn s allergies, however, it can be more difficult to treat because the first step in treating symptoms caused by allergies is to eliminate the allergen, which can be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Let the vet take a look and maybe culture the ears to see what you're dealing with and she/he'll be able to treat it from there.
8369865 tn?1397803589 I've got three dogs and a cat and they've always been around my son. As long as your dog is vaccinated baby should be fine unless baby is allergic.

Avatar f tn Hi. What to say, other than that 18yrs is an extraordinarily good age. She is a very elderly lady. I have a crossbreed who breathes heavy during the night (actually whenever he's in deep sleep). I wouldn't worry too much. Older dogs sleep alot and certainly aren't as perky as younger dogs. Just imagine a human that's 88yrs old ... as that's the human equivalent for a Jack Russell. Walking sideways is another issue.
Avatar f tn As far as I am aware, the flu-like virus that infects dogs is not transferable to humans - or from humans to dogs. The two strains are completely different and isolated to each species (although most viruses do mutate and very rarely they can transfer from dogs to other animals, but not humans). That said, I would be extremely interested in what the vet has said and where he got the information from.
Avatar f tn This has happened twice within the last month in that exact order of symptoms. The only common links I could find with the two cases were Hot Dogs, caffeine, and being with my boyfriend but none of those have triggered any sort of sickness before or inbetween these two cases. I’m concerned because I can’t find anything like it online and I very rarely get properly sick but I felt like I was dying on those two occasions.
4862098 tn?1360170730 His ALP was 1000,All other levels are normalALT,AST,GGT He has no symptoms , no diarhea, no vomiting, no over drinking or eating nothing. Very active especially on walks. Avatar n tn It can be given to dogs but I only know if it being given UV and that was in extreme cases and it has to be dosed correctly. I would NOT advise you to give that to your dog. You need to be more concerned as to the cause of the vomiting. Is the dog sick? Is the dog drinking fluids? As this is an older dog, there could be any number of reasons for the vomiting. Don't feed the dog or, if you feel you must, you might try a small portion of chicken and rice.
6669309 tn?1462648142 Arthritis is very common in older dogs and the longer dogs live the more common it is becoming. Nutritional supplements Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate are two substances that have fast become the standard treatment in canine age-related arthritis. These are often sold as a single combined substance in good pet shops and quality supermarkets. Alternatively, just look up "Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate for dogs" on Google and you should find a supplier.
Avatar m tn Things like what I went to the store for. Did I pay that bill. The dogs worm pill. To tell a coworker something important. I know that at 46 I am not going to be quite as sharp as I once was, but I feel like I am falling apart. Someone told me that if you can stand on one leg in the dark for ten seconds that it's a good sign. I don't know how that relates to AL but I can stand for a minute or so. People say that age affects memory.
82861 tn?1333453911 s a good idea not to include our dogs in the feasting. Most people are aware that onions, garlic, grapes and raisins are on the doggy "do not eat" list, but even seemingly safe foods can cause trouble if ingested in quantity. My vet is always very busy in the days following any holiday. He can count on having several cases of pancreatitis coming in along with the usual overindulgence GI symptoms.
