Common Questions and Answers about Stress reduction handout

Avatar f tn I was in a class in school yesterday, I remember about half of what we did (homework corrections and vocabulary quiz) but the next day I came back and the teacher asked to "pull out the handout on the video we watched yesterday" but I didn't have the handout, and I didn't remember the video at all. I know I didn't just leave during class because I remember talking with a friend while leaving the classroom.

5628321 tn?1376273593 I came across this and had to share. For gifts to handout at your shower. Order the little popcorn boxes in either pink or blue. Use a silver paint pen (or print out stickers) to write "Ready to Pop" on the box. Tuck in a single serving size bag of microwave popcorn. To cute!
Avatar f tn I had a myocardial profusion scan awhile back but did not complete the resting part due to very bad reaction to radioactive tracer. It said" there was a reduction in the tracer uptake within the septum proximally and also within the anterior wall in the region of mid ventricle.gated acquisition shows no thickening or motion abnormality.
Avatar n tn Look up Spinning babies belly mapping handout. It'll tell you everything you need to know :) may take a few days to get it down depending on how active your little one is, but it's worth it!
Avatar m tn These tests look at completely different things, so yes. Its alot to break down but basically.. Stress tests look at electricity and wall motion. Ct angiograms look at blood flow. Contrast mri and nuclear medicine looks at perfusion (how well muscles soak up blood). So you can have a 48% reduction in blood flow, resulting in a 68% reduction in pumping action/wall motion and a 20% loss of perfusion all in 1, yes.
Avatar n tn reducing the amount of reaction to stress is usually accomplished by meditation or stress reduction in the individual, but for a pharmeceutical treatment, most doctors turn to SSRI's. These drugs increase the amount of seratonin in the brain, and this reaction has the side effect of making you less emotive and therefore less "stressable." Again....very good question.
410475 tn?1262942367 Personally I would risk 75mg/day reduction while above 150mg/day, but stick to 37.5mg/day reduction for each step down from 150mg/day. When it comes to antidepressants, always get doctor advice before implementing a reduction program. As always, my comments do not constitute doctor's advice --- always see a doctor before changing any medication for stress or depression.
Avatar f tn Why can't I have that? I just read the birth center handout on juices I can have in labor & it says NO CITRUS JUICES. Do they do something bad? I'm an orange juice & grapefruit fiend. I have half a grapefruit & a glass of orange juice a day. I'm actually drinking some now even though I think I'm bordering the latent phase.
Avatar f tn s a little on the big side. The midwife is guessing 8.5 lbs already. She gave me a handout on natural induction methods to try and said she'd like to see me deliver by 39 weeks. I'd like that too. Lol. I am definitely ready for this pregnancy to be over.
Avatar f tn Your surgeon should normally give instructions as to when you can begin certain activities & which ones to avoid for a period of time after surgery. Often they’ll give you a handout of instructions for both before surgery (meds to stop taking, etc.) & afterward. These often include normal side effects to be aware of (for example, maybe seeing some blood in the urine) & also when you can resume normal activities.
Avatar m tn i talked to my doctor and she gave me a handout of things to avoid when you can't sleep the number one thing i was doing wrong was drinking sodas to close to bed time :)

Avatar f tn t breastfeed so she wanted to be rid of the milk. It took about 2 weeks because she was consistent. Also, a handout I received from my OB's office says that cabbage leaves help dry the supply via some kind of chemical reaction (???). Hope this helps some!
Avatar m tn How does stress affect IOP values? Do stress reduction techniques help in reducing IOP?
Avatar n tn He has been under huge stress and is starting to exhibit the same behaviors he had before he was diagnosed extreme depression and then all the sudden delusions doing something totally off the wall and hyper and he won't take care of his hygiene when he is depressed and I already know his work is poor quality and he knows too at times. His employer offers short term disability. We have never had to do this before. Can he get it? How do we go about trying to get it for him if so?
Avatar f tn I had Bariatric curgery a year go in Jan that plus the reduced reading lead to a reduction in my Levothyoxine from 225mcg to 200mcg. However i have been under some stress due to a grievance i have placed at work, and the stress could ALSO come from the high TSH reading.
Avatar m tn I'm a 19 year old male. I visited the ER 3 weeks ago thinking I was having a heart attack only to find out it was a panic attack. I had an ECG and blood tests. My BNP level was <2 while my troponin levels at <0.1. Apparently normal results. They had told me my ekg was normal. They took it when my heart was racing around 145 bpm in the midst of my panic attack. Afterwards they gave me anxiety meds which slowed down my heart rate because I no longer panicked.
Avatar f tn Smoking results in reduced blood supply to tissues and affects healing from surgical procedures. In a typical breast reduction, while the nipple is not removed, it is carried on a pedicle flap to its new location. The flap has a reduced blood supply that can be further compromised in a smoker. Smoking is well know to compromise circulation to skin that has been elevated at the time of surgery. Stopping smoking for several weeks before a surgical procedure is not the answer.
