stress

Avatar n tn I have no recollection of these events, but according to my wife, I have been banging my head in my sleep. I bang it so hard against my pillow that I shake the whole bed and it wakes her up. It seems to start happening when I finally go into a deep sleep. Maybe REM sleep?I don't understand why I still do it. The banging occurs every few seconds, and I do it consecutively until my wife wakes me up.
Avatar n tn When my oldest son was little, he used to bang his head as well. He would get on all fours and bang his head on the floor. I hated it. I told his pediatrician about it, and she told me he was just doing it for attention, and to ignore it, and he would stop. He did not stop. What did make him stop was me finally walking up the steps into his bedroom, and scolding him harshly. He got scared, but he never did it again.
Avatar f tn who went on to become obsessive to the point where she would constantly knock her hand on her head during the day and bang her head lightly on her headboard at night to soothe herself to sleep...well into her adult life. So it may be worth asking her pediatrician if she continues it over the next few months because I believe there are certain exercises you can use to help her re-direct sensory seeking behavior....but if it's just frustration/a phase she'll outgrow it in a few months...
Avatar n tn Now I no longer bang my head on the wall or the head board, instead I bang my head against the bones of my for arms and that seems to do the trick. Though this is not as satisfying, I have learned that this is a way i can sooth myself without making as much noise. I usually bang my head untill I fall asleep.
Avatar m tn Hi, Thank you for your question. After head injury or impact such kind of symptoms like headache & vomiting may be common, but may remain symptomatic or progress in future. I would recommend that he should consult immediately with a doctor for assessment. Please arrange an appointment with a neurologist who will evaluate the further prognosis here and can provide you an appropriate treatment. Hope this helps.

585414 tn?1288941302 I am pretty organized for a bi polar but I can relate to Jennie about getting agitated when someone or something gets in the way of my plans, For me it is most important at the end of the day to destress all the **** of the day out of my head. I take a bath and I imagine all the the stress going down the drain with the bath water. I feel so much better then . Then if I still have a restless mine I write in my journal and get it all out of my head on to the paper.
Avatar m tn How does stress affect IOP values? Do stress reduction techniques help in reducing IOP?

7535508 tn?1391720305 Last week my almost 4 year old daughter was running through the house tripped over the dog bed and hit her head on the corner of my dresser. She cried and had a little swelling but acted fine. Now a week later the left side of her forhead is starting to bruise and so is her right eye. Has this happend to anyone elses child? Should we take her to the dr. Or does it sound normal?
Avatar n tn It is very comforting. I also rock my head back and fourth and bang my feet/legs. I recently have to bang my head through out the night when I wake up it helps me go back to sleep, this does last at least 2-4 hours. I take trazadon to help my mind shut off so I don't need to bang but that does not always help with the head banging. I am not sure if this is a disability or not. I am applying for disability for my MS and have several other issues.
Avatar n tn Our son used to bang his head every day. Huge raging tantrums. The more we reacted the more he raged. One thing that I found helpful was limiting my response - if I freaked-out the whole situation escalated. I know that it is hard to remain calm when your little child is throwing herself backwards in a rage and smashing her head on the floor, trust me, I know. Try to prevent her from hurting herself but do not react in a huge way.
Avatar f tn Since you describe none the risk are minimal and very very small. Anytime you have those symptoms you should see your surgeon. You will bang your head again, we all do, these are good guidelines.
Avatar f tn My 9 week old pup fell off chair and banged her head and she sleeping alot what could be wrong
Avatar m tn Hi. I agree that holding the ears is probably nothing to worry about. My little ones did that when they nursed and had a bottle. As to head banging------ well, my older son did that. As it turns out, his nervous system is a bit off. He has sensory integration disorder and he is a sensory seeker. We also had a traumatic birth experience by the way and while I have no idea nor does anyone, it is one of the listed causes of this developmental delay.
Avatar n tn I have a dislocated fibula head. I spoke to a surgeon and wasn't to happy with what he had to say. What are my options?
Avatar m tn In 1998, needed to stop taking Buspar because the sound of dogs barking was driving me bonkers. I would bang on the window trying to stop the neibores dog until breaking the glass. The anxiety and depression I had and was trying to aleviate from a devorce was being linked to dogs barking and the sound of people eating. I started to then and still to this day wear paper earplugs and head phones night and day with volume blaring to block out what should be normal sounds.
Avatar n tn Constant Tingling from the back of my head towards up the top and sides of head. Burning sensation in the same area. Scalp is tender to the touch. Ringing in the ears. Neck is stiff or tight. Should I get a second option? What do you think this is? Do you think this could be a side effect of Lipito? Could Lipitor had damaged the muscles around the occipital nerve? Or could lipitor had damaged the occipital nerve?
Avatar n tn My sister did it a lot (against a wall, but then she is severely intellectually disabled, not from the head banging) and the neighbours once plucked up the courage to ask what the bang bang bang in the middle of the night was. It was embarasssing to tell them but I hate to think what they thought was going on. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Babies can sleep thru loads of noises bt wen ders a really loud bang he sud jump
1106767 tn?1315050974 Hi has anyone else had symptoms of pregnancy that were all in your head because you wanted to be pregnant so much.Well ive had this a few months in the past and its really upsetting because you want to be so much and its like you get to the point where you actually believe you are and then bang you get AF and your brought right back down with a bump.Im sure im not alone and that many others have felt this too or If i am alone then maybe possibly i am going mad or something!!!
Avatar f tn The other day my baby head butted my cown. The tooth has been root canaled and it has a short post. It doesnt feel loose but is a bit tender. Will it settle down by itself or must i see my dentist.
Avatar f tn I can SO relate to this! I am VERY claustrophobic and when they started restraining my head I freaked out and had to sit up to collect myself before letting them strap me in again. I passed the time imaging the buzzing noises were actually words. Most of it seemed to be the word "dollar dollar dollar" repeated over and over by a loud robot with a very "American" accent (strange for me here in Oz!).
