I just wanted to know if there were others in alcohol recovery that were also finding bg control more difficult in sobriety. My HbA1Cs have been reasonable when I was drinking (less than 7) and blood sugars generally better when i was drinking. I don't think I have ever had bgs in the 500s before and I have never had sustained high blood sugars for hours.

They have more education and training in the pain management arena. I saw a PM Counselor once and found much better guidance from a regular counselor. But I only saw her that one time and we just didn't click. So don't judge my experience as the norm. I know others that have found them helpful. Hypnosis is utilized for all types of issues, including pain management.

There's no good reason why exercise especially earlier in the day should negatively impact your sleep. For most people, intense exercise increases NREM or deep sleep, which is when the body repairs and rejuvenates itself. There's no reason to think you're any different.
Avatar n tn It is better not to stress too much on potty training with a child that age as too intensive training may cause abnormal behavior with regard to urination and defecation. Do keep us posted on any other symptoms she has or doubts in this regard.
Avatar f tn There are several methods to treat the same like bladder training, scheduled/timed toilet trips, fluid management (avoiding excessive consumption of fluid later in the evening & avoiding coffee etc).Pelvic floor muscle exercises also facilitate the same. There are drugs also which can be used like anticholinergics etc. Please do consult a urologist for the same. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.

It seems that you have reached a point where you are aware of what you are doing is wrong which is the first step towards change. To suggest a few things as what to do with stress is... take up a sport. Try Kick-Boxing, Tae-Bo, Pump... if that is not for you and you are seeking some more modest form of sports...

Avatar n tn I have been training for my first half marathon and have increased my weekly mileage but 10 miles from my normal routine and have been running outside instead of the tread. As I started training I have noticed a little foot pain on the bottom of foot which was just caused a little soreness however as I completed my longest run of 12 miles on Saturday and the next day I couldn't put pressure on my foot without it hurting nor could I manage to walk for a standard period of time.

Im 25wks today. Have they not learned their lesson with another pregnant person? Im not going putting myself or baby through that stress. Work is hard enough. Should I go to them and say Im not doing it before they put plans in place or what? Grrrr angry momma right here!!
Avatar f tn Stress can hurt the baby but it takes a lot to. Me and my boyfriend fight so bad all the time now bc I'm so hormonal! I get cramps afterwards sometimes but other then that everything is okay with the baby. Its normal to get crazy every now and then especially being pregnant now!

I'm in excellent health and exercise at least 4 or 5 days a week. I am currently training for a half-marathon .... could the long running have anything to do with the pains I am experiencing? I have had out infections my whole life or so i thought! 2 yrs. ago i had another doctor for a few months while mine was on maternity leave after going in every 2 to 4 weeks with a uti she said "this is not normal and im going to start testing yr. urine."...all the further tests came back negative for bacteria but there is always blood and protein in my urine. So she said i have IC and there is no known cure....
Avatar n tn I would recommend you pursue psychotherapy that includes a heavy focus on teaching you to manage these behaviors effectively (known as parent guidance, parent management training, parent effectiveness training etc.). When working with young children, most of the change comes from helping the parents to communicate better with their children, be proactive instead of reactive, and to use effective, non-punitive forms of behavior management.
