672839 tn?1305792947 To me, there are two types of groups, 1) Support and 2) Self Help. Support Groups are places to go and feel safe. Lead by others with medical conditions like ours, opinions are shared by all, and comfort is widely given while tears flow. The discussions are personal and individualized making this the place to be when your chin is on the ground. Self-Help groups relieve a different pain. In this setting professionals teach you the steps necessary to better yourself and your position.
5097121 tn?1466787392 When our bodies are feeling good, we usually feel good emotionally, so in turn, taking care of your body is very beneficial for stress management, for instance, getting a sufficient quantity AND quality of sleep, eating properly (including a healthy/balanced diet), staying active. Staying away from things like smoking, drinking, overindulging with food are a given. Minimizing intake of things like caffeine is a good idea. ---->Additionally, we have to set REALISTIC daily goals.

Avatar m tn What you are having is a tic which is a sudden, repetitive, nonrythmic, motor movement or vocalization involving discrete muscle groups. These must be distinguished from other movement disorders like chorea, dystonia and myclonus. Simple motor tics are typically sudden, brief, meaningless movements that usually involve only one group of muscles like eye blinking, head jerking or shoulder shrugging. also seen are neck stretching, mouth movements, facial grimacing etc.

874521 tn?1424116797 Your answer above stated you could see a list of all user groups by going into any group, then clicking on "Browse Groups." But what if you don't know any groups to enter to start with?? Why not just have an Icon for "GROUPS" as you do for Forums, People, Doctors, etc?
Avatar f tn I was browsing through the group 18-24 and the questions seem very immature. On the next app update it would be great if they can differentiate the groups better.

Avatar f tn Congratulations, first! So sorry about the stress you are under- stress is a pretty normal part of life- and while it certainly can have negative effects on our health, your baby should be more than fine. You recognize the stress- so now, you can work on reducing it as much as possible.
572651 tn?1530999357 The authors speculate about why the benefits of the stress management treatment did not last beyond the 24-week treatment period. One possibility they point out is that participants may require longer treatment to learn to maintain the stress-reducing behaviors on their own.
Avatar m tn It is possible to continue to have a stress fracture over months when it is not given due attention and appropriate care. Conservative management of stress fracture should aim at movement restriction and non-weightbearing for atleast 6-8 weeks, while stressful activities should be resumed gradually after 12-16 weeks. The duration of rest would also depend on the severity of the fracture and the healing response. For severe or non-healing fractures, surgery may need to be considered.

Avatar f tn I think a therapist would be a wonderful idea for you. Someone neutral that you can really explore why this relationship holds you in bondage. Is that something you'd consider?? Sometimes when we are in an unhealthy relationship, we've developed unhealthy thought patterns that we have to undo. So, the help of a therapist could be a great thing for you.
Avatar n tn He thought that the numbness in my last two fingers was caused by my ulnar nerve, so he did surgery and all I got from that was a 9 inch scar on my arm. I got no relief at all. I am now in pain management trying to take enough drugs to ease the pain. My left arm and fingers are now bothering me. I had a nerve conduction test this week and they said that it's coming from C8 the disk below my fusion. So more than likely I'm looking at another surgery.
Avatar n tn 1) lack of attention (inattentiveness); 2) hyperactivity and 3) impulsive behavior. Diagnosis is usually based on very specific symptoms, and you may need to have this checked by your doctor for proper management. Talking to him or regular communication may also help. Avatar f tn I recently had a stress test and was told that the results were not clear. My cardiologist suggests a 64 slice coronary ct to rule out blockages. I had no pain or symptoms while on the treadmill. He said that it may be purely anatomical as women's breast tissue can complicate the reading of the pictures. Coincidentally, my left breast was radiated for 8 weeks due to intraductal carcinoma 19 years ago. Could this effect the pictures?
1831849 tn?1383228392 The last paragraph of the USA Today article says the same. A group of people were taking stress management and then stopped. When they stopped their # of lesions increased. "This doesn't seem to be the case.
