Avatar n tn I have no recollection of these events, but according to my wife, I have been banging my head in my sleep. I bang it so hard against my pillow that I shake the whole bed and it wakes her up. It seems to start happening when I finally go into a deep sleep. Maybe REM sleep?I don't understand why I still do it. The banging occurs every few seconds, and I do it consecutively until my wife wakes me up.
Avatar f tn i know being pregnant, thinking your pregnant or anything of the sort can make you stressful. so to help with the stress....if you have any rants or raves you wanna get off your chest or just need someone to talk to .....let it out here. anything you may want to get off your chest or that is on your mind....share it with everyone and maybe it'll help destress and help with anxiety. let off some steam and let your hair down.
Avatar n tn When my oldest son was little, he used to bang his head as well. He would get on all fours and bang his head on the floor. I hated it. I told his pediatrician about it, and she told me he was just doing it for attention, and to ignore it, and he would stop. He did not stop. What did make him stop was me finally walking up the steps into his bedroom, and scolding him harshly. He got scared, but he never did it again.

Avatar f tn who went on to become obsessive to the point where she would constantly knock her hand on her head during the day and bang her head lightly on her headboard at night to soothe herself to sleep...well into her adult life. So it may be worth asking her pediatrician if she continues it over the next few months because I believe there are certain exercises you can use to help her re-direct sensory seeking behavior....but if it's just frustration/a phase she'll outgrow it in a few months...
Avatar n tn Now I no longer bang my head on the wall or the head board, instead I bang my head against the bones of my for arms and that seems to do the trick. Though this is not as satisfying, I have learned that this is a way i can sooth myself without making as much noise. I usually bang my head untill I fall asleep.
Avatar m tn Hi, Thank you for your question. After head injury or impact such kind of symptoms like headache & vomiting may be common, but may remain symptomatic or progress in future. Please arrange an appointment with a neurologist who will evaluate the further prognosis here and can provide you an appropriate treatment. Hope this helps.

I have had out infections my whole life or so i thought! 2 yrs. ago i had another doctor for a few months while mine was on maternity leave after going in every 2 to 4 weeks with a uti she said "this is not normal and im going to start testing yr. urine."...all the further tests came back negative for bacteria but there is always blood and protein in my urine. 759386 tn?1324562124 I have tried acupuncture for headaches and it really helped to reduce the frequency of headaches... BUT I found that getting needles in my neck REALLY triggered extreme headaches and nausea and a lot of other bad feelings even though this is where a lot of the areas for headache treatment actually are located for acupuncture. I also get trigger point shots... like nerve block things, with needles full of medication, at my GPs office...

193609 tn?1292180293 Ashtyn has an abnormal auditory response...you can yell, scream, bang things together and he pays NO attention, when 3 hours later you can do the same thing and he will look right at you. He has a large head, wide set eyes that are almond shaped and slant upward, a flat nose bridge, miss-shaped ears, and developmental delays. They first thought he had Cortical Visual Impairment because he always had his head turned to the right and was not tracking at almost 5 months old....
7535508 tn?1391720305 Last week my almost 4 year old daughter was running through the house tripped over the dog bed and hit her head on the corner of my dresser. She cried and had a little swelling but acted fine. Now a week later the left side of her forhead is starting to bruise and so is her right eye. Has this happend to anyone elses child? Should we take her to the dr. Or does it sound normal?

Avatar n tn It is very comforting. I also rock my head back and fourth and bang my feet/legs. I recently have to bang my head through out the night when I wake up it helps me go back to sleep, this does last at least 2-4 hours. I take trazadon to help my mind shut off so I don't need to bang but that does not always help with the head banging. I am not sure if this is a disability or not. I am applying for disability for my MS and have several other issues.
Avatar f tn Anxiety seems to create a plethora of symptoms, at least in me! One weird thing - I would often bang my head on something - a wall, the roof of a car when getting in, what have you - and that would become a Big Deal meriting at least an email to the doctor. He was great though, although that hastened my referral to the psychiatrist! I have had these symptoms, (not all at once!) since I was a kid.
