Avatar n tn So at 14, your parents are probably (hopefully) helpful in determining what to do. They took you tot he doctor who gave you this information, right? What did that doctor recommend? I would guess the big decision is whether to have surgery or not. Did this come up as an option or possibility? And physical therapy usually helps.
Avatar m tn It is possible to continue to have a stress fracture over months when it is not given due attention and appropriate care. Conservative management of stress fracture should aim at movement restriction and non-weightbearing for atleast 6-8 weeks, while stressful activities should be resumed gradually after 12-16 weeks. The duration of rest would also depend on the severity of the fracture and the healing response. For severe or non-healing fractures, surgery may need to be considered.

Avatar n tn m not talking about students who have missed classes for whatever reason - illness, sports, activities, vacation, etc. They should be expected to complete the same amount of work as the other students in the class. Also children who "goof off" in class and do not complete their assignments during the school day should be expected to complete this work - at home or during recess, etc.

Avatar f tn I'm sorry this is so late of a response- I haven't been on this forum for a long time! It is always upsetting when you get a non-sympathetic doctor with a lack of a good bedside manner. I'm sorry you ran into one! You are right that a neurologist, if they are worth their salt, should be willing to take over medication management of your migraines and try to help you on an ongoing basis. God, of course, made you and He doesn't make mistakes!

Avatar n tn Mostly the cervical bulge is due to a cervical disc bulge. Usually patients have full recovery with appropriate physiotherapy management. The initial goal of treatment is to push the bulging disc back into its original position and then keep it there so the torn connective tissue at the back of the disc can heal. Certain activities push the bulging disc out and others push it back, recovery depends on the balance between the two.
